Disappointed because we made a reservation and waited about 25 mins standing in the doorway. There was a group that came in after us and took the one open table and we were not seated for some time. Food was good but this delay put a damper on the dinner.

This was the third time I've been to Risibisi and the first time for dinner. Previous two times were just wine and appetizers at the bar. Had great wine as recommended by the waiter, really enjoyed the Gorgonzola and pear brushetta appetizer, Cesar salad dressing the best I've ever had and the scallops for the entree were excellent. I do recommend this restaurant for special occasions or even for just a casual dinner out.

waiter was rushed, spoke a mile a minute, didn't tell us about the specials (but did to other tables). Food was good, except the veal carpaccio was exceptional. Nice atmosphere. But the waiter sometimes can dictate the experience. I think he was also taking wine from one of the tables. I don't think a waiter should be drinking early on in the evening.

A friend and I were there for lunch. A nice young man served us efficiently and with friendly aplomb. We each had a first course: beef carpaccio and tomato soup which were delicious and were plentiful portions. My friend had the salmon special and I had chicken piccata. We were very happy. And then we each had cappuccinos made with Illy coffee. Perfect ending!

After her soccer game at SSU we wanted to take our granddaughter and her boyfriend to dinner. Our first choice was closed on Sunday. We were not disappointed in Risibisi. The menu offers much to choose from. The mushroom bruchetta was outstanding. I had the lasagna which was a special that evening and very good. The portions were large, (took home half). We ordered two desserts for the table, the tiramisu, and canoli, both yummy but canoli best ever. They also have a nice selection of Italan wines. We will definitely try it again when we are in that area.

Influenced to choose Risibisi by reviews and MIchelin mention, we were very disappointed with the restaurant. Service erratic, had to ask for share plates and for cheese for pasta. First and second courses arrived at the same time. When we arrived only 4 tables had been seated, but waiter blamed "crowd" for poor service. Restaurant claims Venetian influence but clams and mussels were loaded with paprika and garlic, homemade gnocchi were good, but boar sauce tomato-y and boar not as tender as you would expect after slow cooking. A local businessman had told us right before our dinner that Risibisi was no comparison to Cucina Paradiso, where we had tried to get reservations but they were booked. We won't go back. Disappointing!

We ate here once before and enjoyed it, so we made reservations for our anniversary. When we showed up, there appeared to be three waiters, and several open tables. We were left standing at the front for several minutes. When we were finally approached, I gave our name for the reservation, and we were asked to wait for five minutes at the bar. We said "why don't we take this open table right here?" and we were seated. Then we were ignored for about ten minutes, at which point the waiter dropped off a bottle of water but did not speak to us or make eye contact. So, we got up and walked out. No one appeared to notice that we were leaving. We may give Risibisi another chance, but not for a while, and not for a special occasion.

We went there because our favorite Petaluma Italian restaurant, Graziano's (next door) closed and just re-opened as a steak house. We'll keep looking for a new favorite Italian restaurant in Petaluma--one that knows how to make carbonara (using pancetta would be a good start) and knows how to cook pasta to at least al dente. My wife and granddaughter did like the lasagne and we all thought the calamari appetizer was excellent.

I found this place on Open Table and booked it with another mom and her child (I had two girls with me, age 14). We arrived for our table of five and got a call from other friends who wanted to join (three more). This was difficult of course, as our reservation was only for 5. The owner (I assume) was simply wonderful. He went out of his way to arrange and expand our table when another adjacent table finished and left. Meanwhile we had drinks and enjoyed the company and studied the menu. All four adults and 3 teenage girls thoroughly enjoyed our excellent choices ranging from salads to seafood to steak and the service from our waiter was simply perfect. I highly recommend the restaurant as they truly went out of their way to make us happy.

We returned to Petaluma (land of my birth!) and to Risibisi for a birthday dinner on a Tuesday night. The house was only about half-full, which surprised us, as this is a very popular spot and it is sometimes difficult to get in. The four of us each had a different pasta dish. We shared a bite with each other, and could not decide which was best as each one had its own unique flavors and each was perfect. Sorry I can't be more help with your selection, but this happens each time I eat there: angst over entree selection! Just go and know you will be pleased with any choice you make.

I'm puzzled by the negative reviews of this restaurant. My only conclusions is that the people who wrote these have never been to Italy and think Italian food is just tomato sauce and pizza. Yes, there are great southern Italian restaurants in Petaluma but this one is genuinely different. The clams and mussels were so good we had to be certain every drop of sauce was off the shells. The wild boar gnocchi is worth the visit. Gnocchi is a tough dish to master and they've done it. The puttanesca was sharp and not shy and the sorbets and cannoli were very good. They recommended perfect, very affordable wine with everything we ordered. I cannot think of a single thing to critcise in this restaurant. I will certainly return very soon.
