Our first time dining here and we will definitely return. We chose The Brooklyn based on proximity to Benaroya Hall first and the menu second. However, the food was so amazing that we would come back even if we weren't attending the symphony. The scallops were cooked to perfection and we were pleased to find a favorite beer, "Odin's Gift". Service was excellent.

Excellent service and food in a classic Seattle setting. This was a great place to meet old friends and catch up on the past 30 years. The waiter was attentive to our needs and had a great selection for a bottle of wine. We had the Rockfish and Scallops which were both excellent.

The service was friendly and efficient. The food was very good quality, but plates are minimal, so if you're a hearty eater it's best to order salad/soup/small plates ala carte. Bread is an extra $8. The wine list is nice and fairly priced.

Our waiter Dave was outstanding! Had great recommendations for food and accompanying wine. The clam chowder was the best I had the entire trip. I had the scallop special and was very impressed. My wife had the sirloin and loved it. Both were cooked perfectly. If you are looking to spend atleast $150 on a meal that is well worth it, this is the place for you.

Most of our party ordered a number of “small plates” to share. All were very good with one exception – the lobster ravioli took the “large plate with a tiny amount of food” concept to a comical level. My son had the Steak Oscar and it was excellent. Overall we enjoyed our meals -- the only downside is the “sting” when you get the bill.

The old time ambience, with several seating options from oyster bar to booths to white table cloths for quiet romantic dinners in the back seem to make this a different experience each time we go. Very attentive service of course without fail. Our waiter pointed out the "Small Plates" menu is somewhat misleading as items are more like small appetizers. Generous delicious portions on the main menu make up for that!

We had 8 PM reservations on Saturday night. We were told right away that the duck entree was not available/sold out. Before we placed our order, we overheard our waiter describing, to another table, that one of the fish dishes was almost sold out. We asked him to take our order, as 2 people in our party wanted to order the fish. 3 of us ordered the beet and goat cheese country salad, as a starter. While eating the salad, I noticed that there were no beets in the salad. I asked the others at our table and no one had beets in their salad. When asked, our waiter informed us that "we replaced the beets with orange supremes". No apology or offer to make amends. He tried to make it sound like a wonderful upgrade. Attitude bordered on arrogance.

Brooklyn's is my favorite restaurant! From the menu, I have had their steak to the seafood and bites of everything in between and have never been disappointed. You can go dressed up or casual and not feel out of place. The staff makes you feel special and bend over backwards to make your experience enjoyable. And did I mention this is my favorite restaurant of all!

There were many things that were excellent including the calamari and scallops. However, there were a few items that were not up to the same quality including salads, oysters, mussels. I did not eat the steak, but we had a couple of folks get it and they were very complementary.

This restaurant is a block from Symphony hall. If you want tasty inexpensive eats try the busy bar/lounge between 4 and 6, but plan to stand unless you are there at the very beginning of happy hour. We had dinner at the back of the restaurant, which is quiet, romantic and classy. The food is a la carte -- even bread is a special order -- but ranged from very good to awesomely delicious. I must admit I got a bit toasted on the vodka/oyster starter, but it was wonderful. Our salads were extraordinary, as was the bread. My salmon, a signature dish of the house, was flawless but for the overcooked fennel. My husband said his bouillabaisse was wonderful. The berry dessert was lovely though the crust probably needed more tenderness.

Had the halibut and the double pork chop. Both were excellent. Had the seafood volcano appetizer $22 which was very disappointing. 3 very small shrimp three tiny oysters and a small portion of crab in lettuce. Avoid this. Also, no free bread anymore. Want bread? $3. Not a big deal but when you are spending over $100 for dinner, bread should be included.

We love to travel and eat in fine restaurants. Whenever I am in Seattle, I eat a Brooklyn's. My husband and I consider it one of our all time favorites and he can't believe that I go there without him. On my last visit, I was exhausted from travel and needed some pampering. Brooklyn's staff took great care of me by recommending wine which I sampled prior to ordering and tasting some of their rich and delicious ice cream. I leave their satisfied and not overstuffed. All of the food is fresh with plenty of healthy options.

    Dined on 9/14/2013
Love the oyster and vodka sampler! The seafood volcano is a best kept secret... about 20 bucks for a giant martini glass of chilled prawns, crab meat and fresh oysters on the side. We had 4 in our party, celebrating a special occasion. The filet was perfect; the wild salmon special was tender and flavorful as was the halibut and the bouillabaisse. AND... we spotted 2 national sports celebrities having dinner prior to broadcasting the Seahawks game for NBC. Our server was knowledgeable and suitably charming. My only complaint was being seated at the end of the dining room instead of in a coveted booth.

We went to the Brooklyn for our 29th wedding anniversary and took our sons and their girlfriends. Had an excellent time. The service was friendly and well paced. The oyster bar is among the best in Seattle (IMHO) and their wine list has something for everyone. Most of our party had Steak Oscar and the Filet Mignon......OUTSTANDING ! I have been the Brooklyn many times and keep on coming back.....they do not disappoint.

We enjoyed the perfect dining experience here! Starting with cocktails together with a dozen fresh oysters on the half shell we then shared an excellent country salad and then shared a dinner specialty of scallops served over shredded short rib meat.....our waiter recommended this unusual dish so we tried it and loved it. We finished dinner by sharing a key lime dessert. All things considered, it was the perfect dinner. By sharing we were able to enjoy all four courses. We highly recommend Brooklyn Seafood to anyone willing to pay a little extra for a truly fine and relaxed dining experience.

We brought friends from Minnesota who said they wanted to go out for a nice seafood dinner. It was delicious, everyone got something they loved. It was $170. for four entrees, one cup chowder and four glasses of wine or beer. The portions are not large and generally do not include sides of starch/veggie which I like, but they were a little dismayed at that. Welcome to Seattle right?

The 'signature' salmon was quite good: subtle flavors that were truly different. Unfortunately the accompanying vegetables were swimming in fat/butter and overwhelmed the uniqueness of the salmon. The 'signature' creme brulee was overly sweet. On a positive note, the coffee was good and the service impeccable.

I had eaten at the Brooklyn several years ago and was almost afraid to go back because I thought it couldn't live up to that superb meal. No worries. It was spectacular. The Kumamoto oysters were heavenly, the crab/corn chowder was very good. But our entrees really shined. The seared scallops on braised short ribs sounds scary but it worked! The halibut was fresh and cooked perfectly. Service was very attentive. I highly recommend the Brooklyn!

Visiting Seattle and wanted a place with a range of food. Had osso bucco, ciopinno, steak, and scallops for entrees. Nice sized portions and cooked perfectly. But long waits between courses and had to ask for bread (which was extra). Water glasses replenished regularly but had to ask about status of wine order and server only came back at the end to check on us (we had to flag another server to ask to have our server come by the table to order second bottle of wine and other misc items). Expected better service at a restaurant with these prices. In booth, noise level was good as we could talk across table at normal levels.
