We went to this restaurant for an anniversary dinner. The food was excellent, as was the service we received from our waiter. The restaurant features a piano player on Saturday evening, and we were seated close by, but we were still able to carry on an intimate conversation and the piano provided a romantic background. Our only compliant (minor) was that our dinners took a bit too long to arrive at our table after we finshed our salads. Otherwise a very enjoyable evening.

  • Had a FANTASTIC dining experience..
    OpenTable Diner Since 2010

Had a FANTASTIC dining experience.... From the tempura shrimp, ceasar salad, trufle flavored potatoe tots and then on to some wonderful main courses. I had the 12/14 ounce rib eye, the couple I was with had the scallops and rack of lamb respectively. He hoarded the sca;llops but she shared a slice of an incredible piece of lamb. My gf(the birthday girl) had the fillet and it was melting in her mouth. Incredibly tender and not at all dry. She described it as buttery, but not the taste the consistency of the meat. The deserts were great Tiramasu that was marvelously presented and I had the "Howie" which is a nine layer piece of chocolate decadence. The whole dining experience was exquisite fantastic service, comfortable cozy suroundings

    Dined on 6/9/2010
THE HANOVER STREET CHOP HOUSE IS ONE OF OUR FAVORITE RESTAURANTS AND WE OFTEN DINE THERE ON SPECIAL OCCASIONS. THE FOOD QUALITY WAS EXCELLENT, THE PORTIONS WERE GENEROUS, SERVICE WAS TOP-NOTCH AND THE ATMOSPHERE WAS VERY NICE. WE PLAN TO RETURN TO THE CHOP HOUSE FOR DINNER ON A REGULAR BASIS. OUR ONLY DISAPPOINTMENT WAS THAT VALET PARKING WAS NOT AVAILABLE THAT EVENING.

Wonderful as always! Quiet and relaxing...and even romantic! A terrific place to celebrate a special occasion birthday, anniversary or promotion! Fine dining at it's best! We have been lucky enough to have the same waiter several times (luck of the draw) and he is always attentive but not overbearing. He remembers little things about us and that makes it special! Maybe we will ask for him by name next time! We love the Chop House for that special occasion night out!

  • I've never been disappointed

I've never been disappointed at the Hanover Street Chophouse. This was my third visit to the restaurant, and I'll be back again. For me, it's a special occasion place. The Hanover Street Chophouse delivers the best steak in the area, always cooked to perfection. If you're looking for a great steak in southern New Hampshire, this is the place. Dinner usually begins with a complimentary amuse bouche, which is always very tasty and sets your expectations for what is to come. I enjoyed the seared Ahi Tuna starter this time, followed by a Delmonico steak. I have also had their carpaccio and Cowboy Steak during previous visits. As I said, I've never been disappointed, and I highly recommend the Hanover Street Chophouse to all my friends.

Excellent food, great piano entertainemnt and they were responsive to the requests made through opentable. This restaurant can get pricey, check the menu before you go for an expectation of what you might spend. The flat iron steak and sirloin strip was amazing, as was the rest of the meal, and the pre-dinner bread had a great selection.

We were greeted and made to feel very comfortable. The place was wood and dark leather. We had a very good waiter. He was knowledgeable about the menu and the specials. He brought us an amuse bouche he called a lamb lollipop, It was a lamb riblet on a long rig. It was very good. Our steaks were prepared to our order. We both had the rib eye. Very flavorful. We went there for our anniversary, and passed on dessert, but our waiter brought a ices of chocolate cake with "Happy Anniversary" written on the plate. All in all a very good experience. It definitely a place to go back to.

Hanover Street chophouse is an upscale, pricey restaurant which in this case is VERY well worth it. The wait-staff were knowledgeable, friendly, and efficient and their suggestions were spot-on. The food (Filet's for both of us) were cooked and flavored to perfection. We were there for almost 2 hours and never felt rushed like some other restaurant's. We actually had time to enjoy each course.

I usually love the Hanover Street Chophouse. Must have been short-staffed in the kitchen, though, as the entrees took a very long time to come out, and the mashed potatoes tasted like they had been sitting for a bit too long. I'll definitely go back, though, and hope it will be back to its usual proficiency the next time.

This is at least my sixth time dining at the Chop House. As always the steaks are excellent and the service is outstanding. I have gone with just 4 and as large a group as 12 and everything has always been great. But as expected it is an upscale restaurant so you are looking at $100pp with wine and tip.

I was at this restaurant for a businesss dinner entertaining clients. Had this not been the case I would have sent back my "dry aged"( I hardly think so ) rib eye steak in a heartbeat. It was cooked adaquately, but had absolutely no flavor. I have had better steaks from my local grocer. It has been a while since I have had to deal with a "waiter with an attitude" but our "old enough to know better waiter" seems to have forgotten, he was there to serve us, not the other way around. Needless to say it was a complete disappointment and will never recommend or return to this establishment.

The dinner was excellent, nice presentation, good selections. We came (party of 2) for an early dinner before a show at the Palace Theatre. This may have contributed to our being the waiter's only party for awhile. That caused us to endure a few more interruptions from the waiter than we would have preferred. The dessert - 8 layer chocolate cake with caramel ice cream, was not on a par with the dinner.

I was a little disappointed. The last time we were there, the food was excellent. The chophouse salad was too much for one and we should have been told it would be better shared. My wife ordered prime rib that was not that tender considering there was a tremendous amout of fat. I had the New York sirloin. It was okay, not especially flavorful. Our companions were more awed by the ambiance than the food.

Each visit to this restaurant has been a fantastic experience. The quality of the food is amazing, in a setting that caters to your every need. The menu appropriately sized to offer top quality choices in all areas of taste, poultry, seafood, and of course beef. My entre was on the specials menu and was the best lobster raviolli I have had, rivalling other favorite restaurants in Boston's North End. The vegatable and shrimp topping was perfectly balanced witha light cream sauce. Others in my party enjoyed the seared scallops, lobster mac-n-cheese, and one of the many Steak choices. This is a top notch eatery that everyone should visit at least once and you will be back. Thank you Chophouse staff for a wonderful eating experience.

Went for the first time last weekend, everything was great. Information on the menu could be better, though. Rivals Ruth's Chris, Capitol Grill and other Boston top-end steakhouses in quality, ambiance, and, unfortunately, price. Would expect prices a little lower given it's in Manchester, not Boston. Still, worth a visit, we will be heading back.
