Typical sushi place. Average across the board! I return when I'm close by and craving sushi otherwise not worth driving to far for.

It's not the best sushi place in Tempe/S.Scottsdale but it is good food, albeit a bit pricey. Conveniently located in Tempe Marketplace so it's easy to stop and grab a snack... there's there lots of good food in the Tempe Marketplace to pick from!

We go to Kabuki all the time so we love the food! But I would have to say this last visit was a huge disappointment! We had reservations but still had to wait while they set up the table. The server was slow and wasn't attentive at all for only having 3 tables they were really slow and he just wasn't paying attention to us at all. We had to hunt him down for really basic things that we needed. He never even asked us how our food was. The food taste amazing but the rolls were falling apart and I have never had that happen there at all but it did that day. I love that place and will give it another chance but it really made me think where else can we go for good sushi at a good price.

Food was excellent and affordably priced. Better than any other sushi place in the east valley. I understand why now it is always packed on weekends the food, the unbelievable great service, and pricing make this a must go restaurant.

Our party wasn't complete when we arrived at our reservation time. However, they did sit us right away. Our waiter was great! He gave us the menus, took our drink orders and let us wait until we had the rest of our party arrived. The sushi was excellent. My son had the spicy ramen noodles and he thought it was very good too. He had the ribs for an appetizer and I had a bite, it was very tasty and tender.

The only problem I had that night was that the restaurant did not have my reservations in their system and I had made those reservations at least one hour before my requested time. Other than that, I enjoyed my time at the restaurant.

Service is mediocre when an automatic gratuity is added. Servers need to be trained to know that tips are based on quality service. I had to have mine removed.

We went on a Wednesday during lunch. It was moderately busy. The service was friendly but painfully slow; a problem for working folks. Food was good. With faster service I would rate as 4 stars.

The restaurant is located in Tempe Marketplace an upscale dining/shopping center, so depending on the hour you can have young kids. The restaurant has big ambitions -- the sake menu is extensive and the food menu has 3 pages of appetizers. We had a number of appetizers -- all were very good with the spicey tuna salad with cilandro, cucumber, and ponzu sauce judged the best. The miso marinated black cod entre was exceptional. The restaurant appeared to be understaffed. Although our waiter was capable and knowledeable he had far too many tables. This was not a busy night, but I found myself on the edge of irritation waiting to get his attention for the check. On a busy night it might be worse.
