  • Appetizers were very good.

Appetizers were very good. Excellent. Downtown pricing for Oak ridges was a little surprising. Pasta was just okay. Service was great. The only real issue is having to listen to a super loud guido with orange pants that decided to sit in the dining room and yell so everyone can hear him. He was sitting with the manager. I can't believe the manager didn't realize he was disturbing the patrons. Couldn't even have conversation at our table. So we ate and left. This would never happen at Sorrentos on major Mack. The owner would have thrown him out the window if he was disturbing patrons.

Food was spectacular as usual. Server was perfect for our ladies group. He was very funny and seemed like he genuinely enjoyed his job. Sarpa continues to handle my food allergies in the best way possible and have never had an issue with my meal there due to my allergies.

Based on price of food service should have been much better. We would return again to seeif we have a better experience, since the food is excellent. Prices are same as going out in downtown Toronto to similar establishment. It's nice that it's easy to park and casual, however it is far north of the city so really more appropriate for locals.

I really had my hopes up for this place. I made a last minute valentines day booking for me and my lady, and we were both very underwhelmed. Starter salad with goat cheese was pretty good, but the mains were average at best. Maybe it was what we ordered. We had some some sort of sea bass (benzoni?) which we both found to be way too "fishy." The vegetables were barely there, although my gf really enjoyed the mashed. We also had chicken parmesan which was nothing to write home about. Service was good considering the place was quite busy. Perhaps I'll try it again someday, but I'd stick with the pasta. It's also quite expensive but that was no surprise.

Very good food and good, friendly service but ambience could be improved-a bit too noisy for my taste-tables too close together and the sound of many conversations almost made one shout to be able to be heard by those at your table. Maybe space the tables out more or have something on the walls to absorb sound. Wine list by the glass not bad but Ive seen better. Price-in my view the food is way overpriced for the quality and ambience. I can go to a couple of other restaurants in the area where it is richer, quieter, same quality food and much quieter. Drop ten dollars of the average price of the main selection and I would consider returning.

I was looking for a place to entertain and impress a valued customer. Sarpa did not disappoint in that regard. I expected and received a hefty bill and we all had an ejoyable meal in a classy atmosphere. The menu had some intersting options like octopus carpaccio and wild boar which my guests ordered and enjoyed. I ordered the arugula salad (not bad) and the Zuppa di Pesce which was one of the tastiest I have had but the portion was about the size I would have expected as a starter at any other of the dozens of Italian restaraunts just a bit further southwest. Unfortunatley the feeling I had after we left was that I was not close to satisfied. I doubt I would return as there was nothing startling or special given the prices.

Went there for our anniversary, it was not the type of place that we usually go (we're not foodies), but was extremely impressed with the food and the service. We completely pigged out, because the food was so good that you didn't want to leave any on the plate. Will recommend in the future.

    OpenTable Diner Since 2012

We dined on a Tuesday night, and although the service was impeccable, the food unfortunately was not the greatest. The calamari was overcooked and chewy, although the second batch brought as a replacement was cooked beautifully. The risotto with butternut squash and scallops was a bit too al dente and dry, although the scallops were perfect. Chicken parm was nicely done, but not exceptional for the price. Would really love to say the food is great as it is a nice neighborhood gem, but of 3 visits to the restaurant, twice the meals did not match the prices paid. Don't mind paying for a good meal, but meal hasn't measured up to the prices so far.

We have been Sarpa many times simply because its outstanding. Recently, we invited some of our downtown friends for dinner. We thought of Sarpa because they dine out often at restaurants in the city, and we wanted to impress and show them that we have great restaurants outside the city (well Sarpa, anyway!). They couldnt believe the level of food and servicethat was displayed and how BUSY the place (packed!). They mentioned that the city needs a restaurant this. Thanks guys for doing once again, see you soon.

I do not write reviews, but I am compelled to about Sarpa. This was one of the the BEST dinning experiences I have ever had. It was my 25th wedding anniversary and my wife and our 2 daughters absolutely had a fantastic time. From the greeting at the door as we entered to the attentive service of our wait staff including the bread servers, it was all great. We each had a different dish, some from the daily menu, some from the regular menu. All four dishes were rated as a 5. The atmosphere is very pleasant, quiet, modern with some traditional appearance. If you have not been here, you are missing out on York Regions finest restaurant. Sarpa gets a 5/5 all around from me and my family. Thanks for a great evening.

Service - Attentive with just the right amount of interaction Ambiance - cozy, warm, and lively (but not noisy) Wine - Looked for something bold and fruity. Michael came back with a 2009 Refosco which was absolutely amazing. Food - Asparagus Tip soup which we both enjoyed; beef carpaccio was very tasty with a little too much truffle oil but great nonetheless; octopus carpaccio was very tender and seasoned well; mixed grill special was a sizable portion and tasted great; venison was done rare as recommended and did not disappoint; ended with a pineapple upside-down cake which had the right amount of sweetness.

We had been meaning to pay our second ever visit to Sarpa for some time...for a special occasion. This being our 34th wedding anniversary, we chose this occasion. Sarpa lived up to every expectation. The food was delicious, the service excellent and the ambience perfect. Even though a couple with 2 young children sat at the next table, the children were very well-behaved and we had a pleasant conversation with the parents when our special dessert plate was delivered to us.Even a manager came and thanked us for celebrating our special occasion with them. Highly recommend.
