Fantastic service, great four course meal in a wonderful setting. Constructive feedback, wines are way over priced, by glass and bottle. Have been to area several times over several years and the best way to wrap up the day is good food, company and some wine. Wine markup is 100% at Meadowood, far above other better than average dining options in area

Lunch at The Grill was a great disappointment. The menu and the food preparation reminded me of a cowboy restaurant in Wyoming. It is sad that what was once a great eating place should come down to this.

AFTER WANDERING THROUH SOME OF THE HILLY, SCENIC GROUNDS, I FINALLY FOUND SOMEONE TO HELP. THEY HAVE 250 ACRES OF PROPERTY AND CAN ACCIOMODATE 112 PEOPLE, MANY BUILDINGS ARE BY THEMSELVES, AS WAS THE GRILL. NICE VIEW OF THE SCENIIC GOLF COURSE. BREAKFAST WAS ORDINARY, SCRAMBLED EGGS, BUT THE FRUIT PLATE WAS SLICED HORIZONTALLY AND APPEALING.

Like the hotel, the food is overpriced and above average. In addition to our $60 breakfast (1 omelette, 1 eggs benedict, 1 hot tea), we had the opportunity to be surrounded by five rambunctious brothers and sisters who were being HERDED by their obnoxious nanny. I felt sorry for the wait staff. Even though there were only 4 tables seated, our waitress, busser and manager had a hard time being attentive to our breakfast. As I looked around, every other table also had children--simply overshadowed by the table FULL of parentless pariahs. If you are looking for a quiet, upscale, adult only zone--go elsewhere.

This is a sleeper. When you first walk in you think "OK another country club 19th. hole". However, everything is done extremely well. The menu is not extravagant but everything is executed extremely well and correctly portioned. The young looking waiters are wise beyond their years. They know their menu, preparations, ingredients, and they know their wines. The setting is very pretty and secluded. Very peaceful.

This is essentially the golf club grill room - not anything like the vaunted Meadowood restaurant. Great views of the course, but with a TV over the bar the feeling is not high end. Add to that a childrens' birthday party in the room next door, and we didn't get a very good experience. I was also surprised to have the sommelier disparage the service at a winery we had just told him we liked. Perhaps (obviously!) our tastes and standards are not up to his - but couldn't he keep that to himself? Perhaps we'll try the real Meadowood some day - but I would not recommend its poor sister the Grill.

It has been a standing tradition for our family over the last few years to have brunch there around Easter and either for Easter or Mother's day and this year we went after the Napa Valley Marathon. The service was impeccable, the food was great, and the atmosphere is beautiful. I can not say enough good things about the place and I look forward to our next time there!

Always tough to evaluate a restaurant on a holiday but we went for the first time on Valentine's Day. We opted for the prefixe menu and it was excellent with the exception of the dessert, profiteroles. The salad course was excellent, fish course of black cod was elevated with a chorizo sauce, the filet (not usually my beef choice) had a wonderful smokey flavor (as a Grill restaurant should be), profiteroles unfortunately had been overcooked and were dry as a container of the gelato. Wine list had some interesting wines but we opted to bring a special bottle with us. There was no corkage charge. Definitely a recommend to others.

The service was really outstanding. And I almost never say that. the food was good nice diverse menu the kind you would expect at a high end resort. On the reservation I noted that I was gluten intolerant. they went out of there way for me. They had gluten free bread, a gluten free burger bun if that was what I chose to have and so on. My Duck breast entree was seasoned perfectly. Almost a little salty but oh so good and nice medium rare, so often duck is served medium when It could be cooked just a bit less. The chocolate semifrado(spelling) was really nice and rich without feeling over indulgent. I could have eaten another one

We are local residents and the Grill at Meadowood was a real find. We passed up a number of other high-end possibilities to check out the Grill, and we very happy with the food, service and the overall experience. We would definately go back. We treasure any place that we find we can actually have a meal and a conversation where the restaurant is quiet enough that we don't have to yell at each other. Great for an evening with friends.

We had Christmas dinner at The Grill. We were very disappointed. The salad was under dressed, the au jus with the tortellini was bland and tasteless, but the worst of all was the rib-eye which was over-cooked. The waiter asked no one at the table how they wanted their meat. All of the portions were small and well done. We won't be going back.

We had a lovely brunch here for our 15th anniversary weekend, though we stayed in Yountville. It was worth the drive up to St. Helena. Though it was a cool fall day, the view overlooking the golf course was splendid with lovely landscaping and fall colors. The service was attentive (almost too much) and we were treated to an anniversary glass of champagne! May have been because they weren't busy that day; we ate a very late breakfast. Corned beef hash was unusual and the best I have ever had, anywhere. Eggs Benedict was perfect. Would definitely go back.

We're Meadowood members and have been dining at the Grill for many years. Although the menu is limited, the selections are well prepared. The service is attentive and responsive. Regrettably, the prices have climbed so much we don't consider the Grill much of a good value anymore. And the wine list is over the top, with a very limited selection for those who don't want to cash in a 401(K) to buy a bottle We used to go there two or three times every month. Now we go perhaps once per quarter. It is normally not very busy. Perhaps if the prices were lowered they could draw more customers, including us.

Napa Valley can be a bit "snooty" but this place was a little more casual than some of the Michelin star restaurants in the area while still offering an exception location and view of the golf course (deer showing up at the tree line at dusk was an added bonus...it was almost like they had been paid to show up and graze at the outskirts for a photo op), excellent food, and outstanding service. I cannot stress enough how great the service was from every individual we encountered. This includes the host that sat us, the busser, the server, and the supervisor. The food, both for taste and presentation, was top notch. I highly recommend Meadowood Grill for a wonderful night out. If it is nice weather, sit out on the patio.

I ordered the Ribeye steak which I expected to be tender. It was cooked to the ordered temperature but was tough/fiberous like a choice sirloin. I ordered another and the waiter came back a short time later saying I could expect the same because of the purveyor of their beef. He recommended ordering something else so I ended up getting the wagyu burger with a salad. It came with fries and no salad. The burger was very good. I was disappointed overall because of a lack of attention to detail, food quality, my wife was finished with her meal well before I received mine. I expected more from a restaurant of this caliber and price point.

Service was excellent and left nothing to be desired. Food was quite good but my halibut was slightly overcooked and the scallop ceviche had been marinated in so much lime juice that it was impossible to taste the scallop itself. The wine pairings were excellent and the sommelier did a great job of recommending a number of different pairings that impressed our guests. The cheese platter is excellent and paired well with the compotes it was served with. The chicken pasta dish was great but at that price point one wishes that there is more protein on the plate. The handmade pasta itself was delicious. Desserts were excellent as well, both the chocolate mousse and the peach icebox cake were yummy.
