Our table wait staff was fine. The hostesses however need to have a better attitude. We dine there at least once a month (for the past 6 months) and this will probably be the last time. Never have we been treated with respect or courtesy by the host staff. We have eaten at the bar several times as well, thus avoiding the host stand, and have always been treated well there. As Executive Director of a political party, and Director of one of the top ten largest charities in the US, I am always looking for fun and exciting places to bring contributors and donors. I would never subject them to this kind of treatement.

This was my first time at this delightful sushi spot. I asked our waiter for his reccommendations and they were delicious. We had the spicy crunchy salmon, lobster rool and chef's choice sashimi, as well as the asian pear small plate salad, and Chillean Sea Bass small plate. These paired well with the green tea we ordered and the peach tea coctail I ordered in addition. The only disappointments were the noise level, which made hearing our waitor difficult, and the blueberry cheesecake dessert, who's crust was stale. But the service was excellent, and our water glasses were kept full by a nearly invisible person who made regular rounds.

The food was excellent and the wait person was incredibly attentive. She did not seem to be as knowledgable when it came to the drink menu. The restaurant was very noisy and incredibly congested so it was difficult to hear and it seemed as if there were too many tables in the space provided. One major complaint is the valet service. They gave me a ticket when I came in and the wait person told me that she would take the ticket and let me know when my car was brought up. When I went outside the valet service had brought up someone elses car adn handed me the keys. I told them this ws not my car, they misplaced the keys so I havd to look through all of the keys to find mine and it took them 40 minutes to locate my car.

I was pretty disappointed with the food. The best thing we got all night were the rolls in the beginning. We went for the price fixed dinner and all of our choices were bland, over cooked, and defiantly not worth the price. The only reason I would go back is for the bar - the decor is pretty cool. But the decor does not make up for the lousy food.

We had the fixed price course. The food was good and the portions were adequate and for $30, it was a great value. However, the time in between courses was not long enough and we seemed hurried. Once, the waitor even took away the plate without asking if we were done....it happened so fast that we didn't even realize! Nevertheless, I would definitely go back and I highly recommmend the fixed price course.

Definitely a great looking place that would be fun to hang out at as far as the bar goes. The dining room is nice as well, but the food doesn't live up to the surroundings. The food was good, but one would think they would be serving up dishes to a more gourmet caliber. The server couldn't have made it more obvious (though he tried to hide it) that all he cared about was turning tables, not providing memorable service. Skip this place for a meal, but if you're looking for a crowd bar and good decorating, drop in and see what you think for yourself.

My crab quiche was not hot enough but server replaced. It took longer than we expected to get our entrees. Our server was attentive and nice. The two people sitting next to us talked REALLY loudly and it was kind of annoying. I still really love the place and the $20 menu is a real value. Banana bread pudding was delicious, per usual.

This is the second time we have gone. The food is fabulous - sushi is delightful and the entrees are unique and delicious. On our second visit though, our waiter was not the best. He messed up our order and blamed it on us. He also didn't deliver the wine with the courses as requested. But, my first experience there was with a great server so I am inclined to think it was just this one gentleman. Try to fried tofu - it is amazing!

The restaurant is very hip and chic the sushi was fantastic...My MAJOR complaint was our reservation was for 9:30pm and we were asked to wait at the bar for a few minutes we went back a few times but the hostess kept saying 5 more minutes. The hostess came for us at 10:45pm more than 1 hour and 15 minutes later...I just wish that someone would have come to the table and apologized from the restaurant or offered us a drink at the bar for waiting so long. Most people would have left the restaurant at that point...The restaurant was lucky there bartender Amir was so friendly and funny we really stayed just because of him . I will go back but never for a business dinner I could lose the clients by making them wait so long to eat..

Interior, people & music are hip and cool, yet they were very nice and not snobby. Food was pretty good. Chocolate mousse dessert was the best part of my meal. Service was very fast (almost too fast, you'll see why if you read on), surprising for such a crowded place. My only complaint was that because I ordered off the Prix Fixe menu, I had to place my dessert order at the same time as my appetizer/entree order. My date did not order from Prix Fixe so he was not asked for his dessert order. We assumed, the waiter would return after our entrees to ask if my date wanted dessert. but the servers were so fast with service, that after the entrees were cleared, I was given my dessert but the waiter never returned to ask my date if he wanted any

hello! I looooved the decor at this resturant. It was amazing! perfect for a girls dinner! (guys too!) The food I believe was a bit over-priced... I spent $35 for two sushi rolls... and a drink. The service was ok--- not the most friendly. But for the amazing decor... I'd go back.

We sat at a corner table that was close to the kitchen. My boyfriend was constantly being bumped by the wait staff who nearly spilled on him several times. It was incredibly noisy and the food was mediocre at best. When I pay that much for a meal I expect a lot more both in terms of food and service. I was surprisingly disappointed. I certainly would not go back for another romantic dinner.

Would have been more enjoyable if the server hadn't tried to chase out of the restaurant. He brought the bill before we even finished dessert which we found very tacky for a relatively expensive meal. Didn't even offer coffee or anything before he stuck it in the middle of the table and then disappeared. Apparently it was the end of his shift but he could have handled the transition in a much more classy manner.

I usually dine at Oya for lunch where the Prix Fixe menu is perfect and a fair price. This time I was there for dinner and was surprised that for the extra $10 charge you don't received anything extra (portions are even the same size)... like maybe even a salad! While not an expensive dinner I still felt a little ripped off that I was getting the same meal but having to pay more for it. I'll stick with Oya for lunch and have dinner elsewhere. That doesn't change the fact that the food remains exceptional!

Some confusion around the table. When there was one less person attending, they got all bent out of shape and said to verify first. We ended up being a 5 instead of 6 and I informed them. When we got to the table it was a 6 top anyway as I suspected. There was no reason for the uppity attitude. Our server had a large party come in and then we were unable to get his attention for long periods of time. Great restaurant and other servers finally came in to help. Food always top notch...

The food was interesting and the presentation was very good, but overall seemed to lack a lot of flavor. I had the sea bass there and then for lunch at another venue the next day. The second sea bass was far superior. Oya's tasted overcooked and perhaps less fresh the the sea bass I had the next day. The wine list was interesting but requires an investment (most bottles started over $45 a bottle and mid range was $90). For a "moderately" priced place the wine will definitely put you into the expensive category quickly especially if you have a large group. The service was impeccable but a bit pushing at trying to up sell. I think next time I would stick to the bar and lounge area & focus more on the sushi instead of the prix fix menu.
