A word from Siena Restaurant
In any Italian town you'll find there's one restaurant where everyone gathers to eat and socialize. It's the name that comes to mind when going out is suggested, and has a menu with both familiar favorites and exceptional specials that you'll love to try. It is the place you can proudly bring guests for an evening of great food, great wine and great people. With this same Italian spirit, Siena in Mashpee Commons is a place where everyone can vivere bene, mangiare bene, socializare; live well, eat well, be social.

We only recommend if you are seated in front room. We forgot to ask for that. Rear is terribly noisy. Wouldn't recommend for a quiet evening of conversation. Don't order veal, it is pretty poor. Pasta overcooked. Pizzas are great.

I am from Long Island. My Daughter lives in Sandwich MA. Her husband was one or the carolers at the mall. It was also their 27th anniversary. I wanted to take them to Dinner. I looked up the Mall restraunts. There you were online. I have to say your computerized reservation system was the best. When we got there the table was waiting. The waitress I believe her name was Christine was excellent. The Tuscan fish stew I could have had more fish in it instead of what looked like bread fillers, however it still tasted good. We were a family of 5 and all were very compimentry of your food. I would definately reccommend it to anyone. We visit often as I am retired, so you will see us again. Fred Serterides

Very busy place in the summer for sure. Glad we used OpenTable. I got a reservation at 6:15 (I booked it at 7AM that morning). There were only 4 available reservations at that time. People coming up to the hostess booth were told a 1.5 hour wait! Food was good and the service was as well and the place was hopping. A bit expensive, but hey, what place is not expensive at Cape Cod in the summer.

As all restaurants go, this spot is fair to good at best; however, as Cape restaurants go, it is a solid "good". A consistent issue when eating outside, are the bees which direct themselves toward your table, more or less, depending on the type of food you are having. Hence, the "fair" ambiance rating which otherwise would have been a very good, as the terrace is comfortable and lovely. I am not sure what can be done with the bees...spraying if legal?... but they will keep me from returning to the patio of a good nearby spot. Inside is fine

We are regulars at Sienas. However, on July 5th we had other than a pleasant evening. Because we generally enjoyed Sienas we decided to return. This time it was like going home again. Everything was wonderful. Our waitress, Michelle was awesome. She is friendly and knowledgeable. Only thing I would like to have Nick put back on the menu is his fabulous "beet salad".

we were not given a table in the area we had requested. Not a big deal but the table we got was way too small for 4 people and right in the middle of the room. service was horrible, waiters obviously had too many tables and were stressed out but very apologetic.Gelato was melted and had to be sent back. We have loved this restaurant in the past but this experience wasn't even close to good value for the $200+ tab

Great menu with lot of variety, though some things were excellent (caeser salad, lobster ravioli, pizzas) and we found other things just fair (seafood stew, goat cheese portabello, lasagna) . They were flexible and accommodating of dietary restrictions, which were many among our group of 14. And a great place to bring kids as they provide toys, fun cups and its very loud so we didn't have to worry if our crew were rowdy or restless.

Food was very good but a bit pricey compared with other similar restaurants in the area. Specialty drinks were overpriced. It took a very long time for our appetizers to arrive and then our meal arrived before we had finished the first course. We had to send it back to be kept warm. Service was slow even though we had a late reservation and the restaurant was clearing.

It was a year ago that I went to this restaurant and I still think about that meal. I am gluten free for medical reasons and the server was INCREDIBLE with me. She took a special (lobster in sherry cream sauce with corn and asparagus) and modified it to be gluten free so I could enjoy it. My meal was the best I had all vacation on the cape and it was great to go and celebrate my boyfriend's birthday. I loved the dish so much that I tried to recreate it this summer at home based upon my memory of the ingredients. I came no where close to matching this amazing meal! Thanks!

We went to Siena's as a 10 family member gathering and enjoyed the food and service very much. We made reservations just hours before we wanted to eat through Open Table and were pleasantly surprised that we were seated within minutes of our reservation time. Our server was outstanding and I'm sorry I can't recall her name but she was amazing. She was very attentive and courteous to our large family. The food was very tasty and plentiful. Our only complaint was the heavily smoke filled room upstairs and the lack of air conditioning on a very warm and muggy night. We would have left the restaurant if it wasn't so late in the evening. If they fix the air conditioning and smoke issue it would be great.

The food was great as usual but the service was terrible. I had been to Siena's before and everything was great but the service was terrible this time. I understand it was busier than expected but they accepted the reservation. First they sat up 20 minutes late which wasn't a huge issue if they hadn't told us the table was ready before it was, making us give up our seats at the bar. Then is took about 30 minutes just to get salads and over an hour from the time we sat down until we received our meals. Oh, and they had run out of bread (we did finally get) but they didn't offer anything else instead and since it took to long to get food we were pretty hungry. I don't think I would go again during the summer season.

  • The wild boar gnocchi dish
    OpenTable Diner Since 2006
    Dined on 4/3/2010
The wild boar gnocchi dish made coming here worthwhile. The pizza was strangely flavorless--it was covered with tiny eggplant cubes (strange as opposed to rounds) and we couldn't taste it b/c it hadn't been roasted to bring the flavor out. The caesar salad was mediocre--the dressing was called "anchovy" but we couldn't really taste that either. Chairs were very uncomfortable, and the restaurant feels like a restaurant you would find in the shopping center type atmosphere where we found it, desperate for something good to eat on a quick trip to the Upper Cape.

I had been a regular when this restaurant was Gone Tomatoes. Hadn't gone back for a long time after it became Siena because the early menu didn't appeal to me as much as the original. Tried it again recently and now will become a regular again. I had two excellent meals on separate occasions - the Cod and the Osso Bucco are superb.
