I think this place could have been better. The food was decent pub food, but the kitchen messed up the order the first time sending the wrong thing, then the second time they tried to rush the order and forgot a few ingredients. I'll try it again, but not a good first impression.

The skewer sampler appetizer was the highlight of the experience. I'm sure they could do better but our server was not very friendly or knowledgeable. Clueless.

We always enjoy a good lunch here and the atmosphere is warm and cozy. My portobello sandwich on focaccia was good and my friend enjoyed her fish tacos. Service was friendly.

The others in my party were late but the hostess let me sit at the table while waiting for them. Very nice considering it was a Friday lunch! The waiter didn't complain, the hostess didn't complain. Very nice indeed.

We got the 1/2lb loaded burger, very good but the ciabatta roll wasn't toasted and was too much bread for the burger. We also got the chipotle chicken sandwich; same problem with the bread, and overcooked chicken. Fries were hot and crispy, very good. LOUD, fun atmosphere bar, excellent range of draft beers. Fun, easy place to go if you want decent, but not the greatest, bar food.

Food was poor in that they put nothing between the bread on the shrimp sandwich nor the portabella sandwich. 2 shrimp and very few mushrooms were anywhere to be found.

  • Eating here was fun, lots

Eating here was fun, lots of people, beers, and food. The NY Steak is a must have its all natural and comes with sauteed mushrooms and onions, variation of grilled veggies and your starch of choice, the fries here are the best but if you are a rice kinda person they do it right. Its only $17.95 this might be the best steak deal in the city, and it is GOOD too. We all had our beer of choice since there were like 30 to choose from I had a Shock Top my new fav. We enjoyed ourselves immensely thanks to great food at a great price, a fun ambiance and great service. I will be back.

At the server's suggestion I chose the steak salad and would also recommend it. Managed to snag a booth by going early, and so had a very pleasant lunch.

The service was outstanding; the food, for pub type food, was excellent. It was a little noisy on the bar side, so we went looking around for a better table and found a booth that was big enough to fit six, and that cut down on the ambient noise a lot. Husband had a prawn club sandwich that was extremely good, chicken chipotle sandwich was good, pork sliders were excellent! Great selection of beer from various microbreweries. Would definitely return.

The prawn club was good but not spectacular. My friend enjoyed her roasted pork sandwich. Ambiance is nice and cozy, and the service was fine. Royal Exchange is always a good standby place for a decent lunch in the Financial District.

  • Went to restaurant on a friday

Went to restaurant on a friday to celebrate a birthday. The reservations in advance had us seated in a booth next to the window for a view of the street. Menu specials were seafood entrees and well fitted for the celebration occasion. We ordered Crab salad on french bread and Cioppino. My cioppino was a good size portion and fresh seafood (jumbo prawns) and i had to eat slowly in order to finish it all. This is my 2nd visit in a month. I really enjoy eating here and

Our experience was wonderful. The service was friendly and attentive without being pushy; the food was very tasty and we appreciated having a booth to ourselves. We have been to this bar numerous times after work for drinks but this was one of our first times dining for lunch. We will definitely return!
