This was the second year in a row we've celebrated Father's Day at El Chorro. This will for sure continue to be a tradition. The atmosphere is wonderful, there's lots of shade, misters and cool air machines. The food is always amazing and the patio is the perfect location for our family.

Quiet table on the patio with a beautiful view of the mountains at sunset but the patio itself is not as nice looking as shown on their website. We didn't order fish because the Wild Salmon was from Tasmania as Alaskan was not yet available, an unlikely story, and the trout was farm raised in Tasmania and the grouper was overpriced at $38. The ribs were tasty but stringy. They substitute sticky buns, like cinnabuns at rest stops, for bread. The sugar is sure to kill any appetite. Our food was served before the waiter even had a chance to bring us a glass of wine and the place was relatively empty at 7:00 P.M. It also told us that the food was completely pre-prepared. The crème brulee with a cactus cookie was good.

A traditional dining experience. They treat you the way a customer likes to be treated. They greet you with a smile and look directly at you to make sure you feel your welcomed. The food is expensive because of the time and effort that is put into it. You can't find this type of meal many places in the Valley. I have lived here 33 years, and we keep coming back.

It has been many years since my wife and I dined at El Chorro. The sticky buns were still first rate. During "Restaurant Week" we visited 3 restaurants. El Chorro was the 3rd dinner. The service was excellent, my duck was good but my wife's trout was a bit dry. Long story short--El Chorro came in 3rd out of 3.

This is a great place to sit back an enjoy a drink with excellent food while enjoy the view of Camelback Mountain. Quiet place so you hold a conversation without the need to yell at your partner. The food was worth the trip. My friend had the green chili pork stew to start. Wholesome and hearty. My tomato salad was a treat. We both enjoyed the trout as our main course and when we go back --- trout WILL be on my priority list. Both the strawberry shortcake and the blueberry pie were worth the calories. Give it a try--you will not be sorry.

This was the first time we had dined at El Chorro and we were very disappointed. The food was fine but the service was awful. First we had to ask for the "famous" sticky buns that were supposed to come to each table. Then we ordered the Restaurant Week menu that they offered. The server brought the wrong food to our table. The wine we ordered did not arrive until we were halfway through with dinner. The coffee we ordered did not come until we were finished with dessert. Then 20% was added to the check as a tip! When we questioned this since there were only 4 of us at the table and the service was so poor, we were told it was because we ordered the Restaurant Week menu. No other restaurant has ever done this.

I can't think of one thing that could have been improved. When calling to revise my reervations, the hostess was happy to accomodate and pleasant. Great venue for patio dining, weather permitting. El Chorro is well known for their sticky buns, understandably! The duck was the best I have ever eaten. The El Chorro Sunrise was also delicious and refreshing. Our waitress, Robbi, was a delight. Her vibrant personality and prompt service added to our lovely evening.

We arrived at El Chorro at 8:30 on a Thursday night during Restaurant Week. The patio was crowded, but our reservation secured us a nice table. By the time we finished their seasonal drinks, the crowd had thinned and we enjoyed a nice relaxing night. We were enticed by the always popular Sticky Buns while we relaxed before ordering the sausage and pretzel bread appetizer. For dinner we stuck with the pre-fix, dinner, special for Restaurant Week. I have always enjoyed the patio at El Chorro and this visit was no exception.

Out of our group I am the only one that had been to El Chorro before (a business dinner which was excellent). We all stated after this experience we have no desire to go back. The views from the patios are wonderful, but the fact there were spider webs in the umbrellas was not a good dining experience. The service was slow:they came and refilled water but failed to fill one person's and when they filled the Tea glasses again they failed to fill one person's. There was little follow-up by the staff. The Food:The pan roasted duck was under cooked, some of the filets were undercooked also. My filet was excellent but I had mine butterflied so it would be Med well. The first course was excellent but from there the food went down hill.

A very disappointing experience. We made reservations for dinner and arrived early to enjoy their happy hour. We were seated in the patio dinning area which was very nice. When we asked for the happy hour menu we were told we would have to move to the adjoining area which had vinyl table and chairs with remnants of previous meals. The hh drinks were smaller to accommodate the reduced price. The appetizer was disappointing and the plastic menu indicated prices way too high for what we were experiencing. We didn't stay for dinner.

Went during Restaurant Week and had an impeccable time. They served three items off their main menu vs. creating a one time prix fixe that would only be good Restaurant Week. Food was outstanding, portions the same as regular times. Can't beat the view, the ambiance, service. I even received a follow-up call from the restaurant the following day to ask about our dining experience and asking for feedback. What fantastic customer service.

As restaurant week had just begun my husband and I perused menus around town and decided to try El Chorro. We had been there before in a group so had limited experience with the food. We couldn't have been happier with our dinner, the view, and the service. I had the vegetarian entree while my husband had the trout and both were delicious and well prepared. Will definitely go back again.

Another great gem of a restaurant in Arizona. Has all the old world charm of Arizona. The atmosphere on the patio is outstanding and a definite must. The décor of both the patio and the dining rooms were great, everything from the flowers blooming, the tiled fountain, the rustic furniture and the great pictures and works of art hanging on the walls. Also, don't forget about the great food and service of the entire staff. I had the best omelette of my life!!!! A must place to go on my next visit and a definite recommendation to all who visit.
