The food & service here was decent, but there are far better places throughout the Valley. Our group ordered various entrees (Cod, Tenderloin...) and none "wowed" us...no one exclaimed how great their food was, though it certainly was not bad food. A non-meat eater (fish only) in the group requested the cod without chorizo and the waiter made a big deal about this request and even informed us he could make the modification that evening but "on a busier night, like a Saturday, we don't do those kinds of things." What is this...Applebee's? Is the food pre-made? Such a small modification should not be a big deal at a restaurant that bills themselves as fine dining.

Not many classic venues left in Phoenix, but this is one that not only endures but keeps raising the bar. The food is outstanding. Creative, complex and elegantly served. The service from entry to departure is pleasant and goes the extra step to ensure a guests are well served.

My wife and I dined at T. Cook's on our anniversary which just happens to fall on restaurant week every year. I had the lobster bisque to start and she had the beet salad. Both were superb and the beet salad was better than I ever imagined a beet salad could be. We both had the beef tenderloin as our main entry we both felt it was possibly the best steak we had ever had.

Have you ever stayed at a hotel and seek a dining experience elsewhere? Well TCooks is worth staying in the hotel to take in the dining experience. The lobster bisque and venison tartare were tasty and entrees of beef tenderloin, black cod and Mary's chicken were worth the wait. We participated in the PHX restaurant week and sampled their fine-dining experience. The only knock is the service was slow due to probably the PHX restaurant week venue.

It has been sometime since dinning at T.Cook's and I must say, I was disappointed. It has been remodeled and part of the charm is gone, in my opinion. The food was fair, I've had better. The service was terrible. Very slow and there were not that many dinning....we were there for 1-1/2 hours and just ordering dessert. I left, could not stay had prior commitments. Probably will not go back again.

We were disappointed in the brunch offerings. It was limited and basically consisted of shrimp, crab, cheese and lunch meats. Salads were noticeably absent. The pastry table was also disappointing. we initially opted for the brunch bar only and found that to be so disappointing we ordered an entree, which we shared. If T. Cooks is pricing the brunch at $19 because it is T. Cooks, this is a mistake.

Had reservation for Anniversary celebration. Waitress greeted us after sitting down and she did not return--25 minutes later we asked busboy to send her over. Arrived and was snotty and annoyed. Asked about Restaurant week menu. She replied "you did not note that in your reservation". Got menus and all she said was "you have to pay extra if you order additional food". She came by a few times during dinner and asked how food was. Gave us check without asking if we wanted coffee or after dinner drinks. Luckily, we had amazing food in a beautiful setting. We just laughed her off and enjoyed ourselves. We will certainly return, as this is still a special place.

We had a wonderful meal here during restaurant week. The food was interesting and beautifully presented. I applaud T Cook's for not playing it safe and having some unusual items on the menu. If they were trying to impress, they succeeded. For the most part, the food was excellent. We particularly enjoyed the venison tartare, lobster bisque and the black cod. The chicken was moist and tender but I would have liked a little more sauce or seasoning. The service was outstanding. We were not rushed and the wait staff were very attentive about refilling water and coffee. The patio worked well even though it was triple digits when we got there. They did not mislead when they said the misters and fans would work fine. We will definitely be back.

The food at this restaurant is excellent, however I will not be returning as the service was absolutely horrible. I have never been treated so poorly by wait staff ever. The waiter was very slow with our table, but seemed to mange efficiency with others. We did not receive our bread. When a complaint was made about the wine he insinuated we did not understand wines well enough. He was quite rude and turned us off completely, which is unfortunate because they entrees were excellent.

I have been to T. Cooks a few times over the years and really like the spanish style architecture. Like dining at an historic spanish mansion. It was quite and relaxing. The service was great. The restaurant generously took one of the dishes off the bill since it did not arrive when it was suppose to even though it did not matter to us. Two of the people ordered the frittata and I ordered the cavatelli with mussels, shrimp and cuttlefish. Frittata was good, but simple. Nothing spectacular. The pasta was very good, but the sauce was too spicy for my taste. It overpowered any flavor from the shellfish. I did not realize the dish was spicy since the menu made no reference to it. Expected a little more for the price.

Have loved this restaurant for years but a relaunch has brought a new menu. It is a smaller menu and less choice. Plate was so hot that by the time I came to eat my food the sauce had dried on the plate, the vegetables had become tough and the whole thing was tasteless until the next re launch we will not visit our favourite location in Scottsdale. I've had many great experiences at T Cooks. T Cooks used to be my favourite restaurant in Phoenix. This is my first visit since their renovation and a new chef. While the food quality was good, the menu was boring. The service used to be top notch and the servers highly professional. Unfortunately they have lost their polish. The servers' uniform standards need to be improved, the service was not attentive or professional. I fear we've lost a great gem.

Oh my! I was so excited to try the new menu at T Cook's! My family has had many celebrations there, including a wedding reception and some great milestone birthdays. All I can say is: what a disappointment! There were so many odd food pairings - vanilla "scented" onions for one. I had the chicken which was swimming in some sort of olive oil - I managed to pick around it, but as much as I love olive oil, I don't want my food drowned in it. My husband had salmon - nothing special (I make it better at home) and our guests, heck what does it matter? Nobody had a good meal. It's a pretentious menu that unfortunately is not appealing. Just give me high quality, normal food & drop the haute attempts!

This has been one of my favorite restaurants since I lived here 15 years ago. I was back about eight years ago and it was still a great dining experience. I won't go back after this visit. The service was almost non- existent. He completely forgot to order our appetizer, brought double the number of servings of soup ordered, and tried to make it up by giving us desserts. No wonder the bar and half the tables were empty!

Had not been to this lovely and famous spot for a number of years, but so glad I chose it this time for out of town guests. It is as wonderful as it has always been, a beautiful touch of last century Arizona with this-century creativity and flair. The service was excellent. it is always so great (but all too rare these days) when the wait staff knows the menu and the wine list inside out. Food was lovely. The AZ Republic's food critic recently "dissed" this lovely place a bit for catering too much to "the resort crowd,", but I think they have struck a great balance. Interesting and incredibly tasty without being weird. Could not have been more pleased.
