My wife and I were very disappointed on many levels. Service was terrible. It took over forty five minutes for service. Food was barely ok. Cod was not well seasoned and dry. Only positive was chocolate dessert. Will never be coming back.

We were seated later than our reservation, but the service we received and the food were excellent. Towards the end though, service did lag for a while (not sure if it is due to a shift change or not). Dessert came out much later than our food. We had the branzino (awesome), scallop risotto (not as creamy as it should be, tasted a bit dry, but the scallops were perfect), and the lobster pot pie (delicious, but a tad too salty). For dessert we had the Peach, Chocolate Decadence, and the Key Lime. Try the Chocolate Decadence and the Key Lime desserts. The Peach dessert was not good though. Overall, we had a great experience.

Boyfriend and I can here for a pre theater dinner but was so disappointed. Being a huge fan of the his how's we were both really excited about trying Maze out. Granted maybe when u order from a prix fix menu the portion and the taste are all to be discounted but really, I was just so disappointed with what came out. I had the grill watermelon salad and the scallop risotto while my guy had the Caesar salad type salad and the branzino. The fish was the only highlight, but would not have been enough for a grown man. The service is spotty, sometimes attentive but sometimes not. Even had help from other patrons to wave down the waiters for us. Prob wouldn't be back again, there is a reason why Ramsay is losing his stars.

The service was the worst that I along with my 5 friends have ever had for restaurant week. We waited 40 minutes for our reserved table, 20 minutes for them to take our order. They never refilled our water, or asked if we needed anything. We served our own wine. We waited 15 minutes for them to clear our dishes for dessert. We had to ask them to do it. We waited another 15 minutes and had to call someone over to give us the check. It was written that with 6 or more persons, gratuity was included. After we paid the check we, not them, realized that they did not include it and we had to redo our credit cards. The food was so bland we had to go to another table for salt & pepper because we could not find a waiter to ask for it.

Gordon Ramsey should have Maze featured on his newest TV series, Restaurant Nightmare. Service was a mess. We sat at our table for 10 minutes with no one even stopping to say they would be with us in a minute. Waiters could not be understood, we had to wave our hands to get any attention. Long waits between courses, and despite empty beer glasses, we had to flag down a waiter to request another. Food was ok, however, when service is this distracting, it is hard to enjoy the meal.

I wanted to like it but it turns out to be one of the worst restaurant I have been to :-( Only thing good was the wine and the sommelier. No serving utensils for the shared side dishes, nor a sharing plate given . The lobster pot pie was too salty and runny. The roasted cauliflower was cold. No server ever came back to ask how the food was or if we need anything. No refill of water. No one just cared. And they were not that busy. There were some empty tables.

It was a let down. I hope Chef Ramsay knows about this restaurant's reviews and ratings.Food was decent isnt horrible but takes forever for each course and everything you needed wasnt on the table already or if they take your silverware for every course it should be replaced for next instead of having to ask for it and i understand most restaurants would hope their customers would enjoy the food as is without any salt or pepper or any additional seasonings but if you have it set on other tables why not all? Plus it may not even be a bad thing it can just be to the customer's liking. So majority of the bad rating would have something to do with their service but overall its a Gordon Ramsay restaurant & i expected it to be worth talking about

Despite the booking we waited a few minutes before being seated. Food selection was poor and in 2 dishes out of 3 was also not properly cooked. When we asked a second basket of bread, we got a plate of sliced bread good for toast. Service was ok and wine list ok but pricely. Restroom very nice. Sorry but given the amount we spent, this is not a place to recommend.

We were so looking forward to dining here. What saved the day was the Weelington. Just as good as expected. But too many other things were off. The service was clunky. We had to tell them how to course our meal and then still had to tell them no we are not ready for our salad because our appetizers are still here! The restrooms were in awful condition. Which I reported twice with no response. The wine list was ridiculously over priced In a nearly empty restaurant we had to say no to table next to wait service stand. Just not a great experience. We expect more from you Mr. Ramsey.

I had a group of friends meet at the Maze this week for Restaurant Week. Everything that we ate was great, but the special menu was very sparse. There were only 2 appetizers & 2 entrees ( one of which was Cod! - not really a favorite with most people - though it was reportedly excellent) & 1 delicious dessert. We go to many RW restaurants, but most give more choices. Also, the paired wine suggested for the Restaurant Week menu was $22 per 4 0z glass. We chose a$65 Somona Cutrer which was wonderful! It's really a very lovely spot to go.

My daughter is a big Ramsay fan, so we just had to try this restaurant. Our waiter was a bit stuffy. He basically brushed me off when I asked his opinion of the two entrees I was deciding between, never introduced himself to us, or attempted to make any kind of friendly conversation. That being said, other than taking our order, the entire wait staff would check on our table every time we went by. Dirty plates were cleared quickly, water was always full, etc. Food was all beautiful to look at and delicious. Dessert was definitely a highlight. The Chocolate Decadence was amazing.

My husband and I are huge fans of Gordon Ramsay and wanted to try out his food in person. Unfortunately, when the best part of your meal is one of our appetizers (I had the crab cake which was delicious) and my husband had the corn soup. Which he said was also ok. But then for dinner I had the chicken which had no seasoning on it and he had the very rich scallop risotto. I was so disappointed because we had been looking forward to eating there on our anniversary for months.

Wonderful atmosphere, Amazing staff & Exquisite food! We could not ask for a better first time experience! Diver scallops to die for, the Lobster pot pie will make you want more, and if you have never experienced Branzino fish then it is highly recommended! Roman made the most delicious Dirty Martinis (still waiting for that recipe;) and Farhan made us feel like Royalty! We had our 8 yr old w us, she has a peanut allergy, the staff made sure she was ok and felt just as welcomed as we did! We thought it would be difficult in New York to enjoy such an amazing culinary experience with children 14 & 8, but not at The Maze!

The service was too slow for midtown, I understand that good food takes time, but you need to be under an hour so guests can get back to work within the hour. The staff was basically silent; no one actually spoke to us, just nodded and served. The bathrooms needed attendance, no soap, no paper, soda cans in two of the stalls on the counters. I also found a small piece of paper in my dessert; I mentioned it to the waiter to make the kitchen staff aware. The server (without apologizing to us) handed the half eaten plate to the host, who was on the phone at the welcome desk, who stood there for about 5 minutes with the dirty plate in his hand, and then never even came over to us. The food was very good, but the service is lacking.

I came for the lunch menu. I had the corn soup, the tea smoked cod and the chocolate with the milk sorbet. The soup and dessert were great but the cod was horrible. That was the only option I had as a person who can't eat pork or non halal meat for religious reasons. This was the only time I've ever had such a horrible entrée and it was quite upsetting.

The food was good, but it was over salted and the flavour was lost to seasoning. The server also seemed To be in a constant really big rush and just didn't create the environment we expected from a Gordon Ramsay restaurant. The appetizer we ordered ( scallops) was however amazing! The main (chicken) and sides ( mushrooms with truffle butter and fries) were too salty and unimpressive.

After all the programs where Gordon ramsey is so critical I can't believe he lends his name to "Maze' in NYC. It looks like any nice restaurant in any nice hotel in the US. eg. Hilton. Sheraton etc. Nothing special. Restaurant week should be an occasion to woo future diners. i am in the middle of 15 Lunches and 12 dinners and this was the worst. Menu incredibly limited. Choice of 1 soup or salad. Chix or fish and no choice in dessert. It was chocolate. Soup was vg. Chix very simple but nice. I don't like chocolate dessert so missed out. My friends said the poached cod was nice but bland. Never again.

Food was unimaginative. Given Gordon Ramsay's reputation, I had high hopes that the food would be imaginative, or at least, good. The tea-flavored Cod that was on the Restaurant Week lunch menu was bland, almost lacking in flavor. The soup was interesting, but not great. The desert was ordinary. The service was also lacking - for a restaurant that was filling up during lunch time, for a while, only 2 servers were visible, and no one came by to take our order for about 20 minutes, if not more. The decor was nice, but the experience was not.

Was looking forward to eating at chef Ramsay's, knowing how much he focuses on the details. I think we were very unlucky with the waiter assigned to our table. We had to ask to see a drinks menu and one was then presented rather grudgingly it seemed. The salad ordered by one of our party did not arrive, and we had to seek assistance from a different waiter to get it. We asked to see a dessert menu and our waiter left one on the table but never came back! To add insult to injury our waiter said the credit card we offered didn't work, so we gave him a different one. When we checked later, BOTH cards were charged! Thinking of writing to Gordon to complain, but I guess he'll be too busy. Food was great, but avoid the surly waiter!

Came here with my 17 year old and we both loved our dinners! We had ordered the duck confit and crabcake appetizers (best crab cake I ever ate). It was very moist and NOT filled with a lot of breadcrumbs like other places. For dinner we ordered the Lobster Pot Pie, very flavorful with large chunks of lobster, and the mushroom & arugula flat bread (which was also very good). For dessert, we ordered the chocolate caramel cake and it was very good (moist and almost truffle like). The service could not have been better! We were not rushed through our meal at all and we actually had to wait a bit for the bill. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant as one of the top places to must see for all of the foodies out there visiting NY.
