I brought my wife here for our one year wedding anniversary. It was the second Gordon Ramsay restaurant we've been to (the other one was in Las Vegas), and it didn't disappoint. The service was excellent. We had the crab cakes for an appetizer and the beef wellingtons (for two people) as the entree. Both were incredible and met our expectations for a Gordon Ramsay restaurant. The decor was trendy and created a great atmosphere for dinner. We would definitely come back again if we visit NYC.

The feel of the resteraunt when entering was one of quality and a professional staff. That somewhat changed when we asked our waiter for his opinions on Gordon's signature dished like the beef wellington and the risotto with scallops. He did not like them and recommended other dishes. My wife and I were shocked so we did as he recommended. The people next to us ordered the wellington and risotto and absolutely loved it. Now don't get me wrong the food was very good, but just not what we wanted. Portions are small but satisfying. Conversations were uncomfortable due to the very close proximity to your neighboring diners. Overall we really enjoyed it and will be back to try Gordon's signature dish.

Poor service, would have expected more from this restaurant. Waitor spilled wine and table was greasy. I thought we would have a great dining experience even if we did not choose the high-end choice of Gordon's restaurants. Good if you want ok food but nothing extra.

We booked for the Pre-Theater menu. We were ten minutes early and they wouldn't seat us, despite the fact that all the tables were ready. We could have just enjoyed some wine there until the appointed time, instead we had to fight our way at the bar. Once there the bartender was very gracious and helped us find a seat in the bar area. We ordered house wine, which I now think they do not have. Instead we were poured wine that was $20/glass. It was nice, but if I had known the price I would have gone for a cocktail instead. Pre-Theater menu was nice enough. My husband ordered tuna tartar which was excellent! He also had the New York strip, best we've ever had. I, however, ordered the scallop risotto which was extremely disappointing.

We made reservations for the Sunday Supper. We arrived and were told that it sold out. Are you serious? You run out of five courses? We unhappily ordered from the underwhelming menu. Our scallop appetizer consisted of 2 sandy, gritty, undercooked scallops. Must've run out of the rest? The staff was slow (20 minutes for bread and hour for apps). The risotto entree was a small bowl of rice. Overdone! The restrooms were actually dirty. Our experience was opposite of our expectations. The tv character, Gordon Ramsey, would find this unacceptable. To my dismay, the man behind the brand must be ok with it?

My wife and I are huge Ramsey fans. We are here on vacation and we brought our teenage kids with us to eat. We had reservations for 6:45. The restaurant was busy but not full. The servers were friendly. My wife and daughter ordered the beef Wellington. It was very good. I ordered the new York strip. It was good but not great. I am more of a meat and potatoes guy. Not meat and creamed spinach. My son got the lobster. He enjoyed it. My wife and I both got a beer but were disappointed that the 12 dollar beer was bottled not on tap. The portions were decent sized. I heard people complain they were small. With one dessert that we all split the bill was $250 dollars. It was an experience to go to but I don't think I would go back.

This was out first trip to NYC and my first time at one of Chef Ramsays restaurants. My friend and I had the Beef Wellington and we can't stop talking about how amazing it was. We wanted to try it because we watch Hell's Kitchen and he only allows perfect Beef Wellingtons and now we know why! Almost went there again tonight but didn't manage to get back... We will definitely recommend this restaurant to others!

This was our second time dining at Maze in a just over a year. We were pleasantly surprised to find that the waitstaff who had so wonderfully served us last year, were our waiters again this visit. Our experience was absolutely brilliant! From the specially prepared entree for my daughter, to the incredible attention to detail by our waiter, it could not have been a better evening. Maze is an outstanding stop at the end of a very busy NYC day. I highly recommend this venue to anyone, for any occasion.

I met a colleague here for a business lunch and I thought the meal was mediocre and very overpriced. I had the risotto with scallops with a side of sauteed mushrooms both of which was flavorless. My colleague had the scallops appetizer, which she liked but her side was also only fair. The bill was $80 for one main dish, one appetizer. two vegetable sides and a coke. The service was fine except when the host interrupted our conversation to ask how the service was.

Food was amazing! We had the beef wellington, and it's highly recommended. My only complaint is that even though the dresscode on the website tells that its jackets preferred, hardly anyone else was dressed up. As tourists, that was very inconvenient for us to dress up only to find that others were casual.

We were visiting New York for my 26th birthday and had eaten at The London steakhouse for dinner. We then decided to do Maze for brunch. Expecting the same service. we were suddenly proven very wrong. Whoever the hostess was, was very rude and even rolled her eyes at us. We asked to be sat in another table since the restaurant was empty and didn't want to be directly in front of the entrance, apparently that was a problem. Food was amazing and the rest of the staff was very friendly, but right off the bat I was already annoyed and not looking forward to brunch. I believe that service is just as important as the quality of the food and service does affect your experience.

While the food was great, the service was lackluster at best. At one point, my wife and I sat with empty plates in front of us for about ten minutes. No one ever checked to see if everything tasted okay and my water glass stayed empty for the majority of the meal. I'd venture to say, had Ramsay seen this level of service, he'd kick the servers out of the restaurant and do it himself. The kicker was the restaurant only had about eight tables, so there was no excuse for poor service. We never knew our servers name and then we all of sudden had someone else at the end of the meal. Overall, I was disappointed by the meal, due mainly to the poor service and would not recommend spending your money until they can focus on the things that count.

Last time I ate here was about 4 years ago. I stay at the London West Hollywood all the time so I'm familiar with the standards at both properties. Food...great, reception...attentive, but we were seated by the kitchen and I was looking directly at some service trays covered with some strange sheet, made it look like there were renovations happening. The waiters were also less attentive than usual, perhaps just a slow night. Minor criticisms really, it's still all very nice, just noticeable the energy that was there 4 years ago seems to have disappeared

We were visiting New York for my husbands 40th birthday. I made reservations a couple months in advance through Open Table and was disappointed upon arrival that there was no record of our reservation despite having confirmation emails from Open Table. However, they were able to seat us and the rest of the evening was delicious and blissful. The service was outstanding on all levels and the food was everything we had hoped. Our main dish was the beef wellington which was by far the best I have eaten. (and I like my wellington!) We will definitely return.

Have been to several of Gorden Ramsay restaurants including Verre in Dubai (whilst under his charge), and Las Vegas, both the pub and the burger place. I recall in Verre his recipe for beef wellington included a pork sliced wrapped around the meat. Since I don't eat Pork I couldn't indulge. However this recent receipt is pure meat and pastry. It was simply stunning. Cooked to perfection. Overall very friendly wait staff and good ambience. Not too stuffy - simply smart casual. Highly Recommend!

Seated straight away. You can wear whatever you like so there was a mixed bag of outfits. Posh decor. Foreign staff (we expected stereotypical Americans but they were not). Were given warm sliced bread in a glass to snack on whilst we decided what to order. There was a tasting menu & a normal menu. Food all nice on tasting one. Fish under cooked for us but cooked perfectly for those that like it cooked that way. Were given a corn soup in an espresso cup to cleanse our pallet but the staff didn't know what was in it when we asked. Nice though. Tap water free. Wine expensive. Cocktails average price. Desserts were gorgeous! Got a plate with congratulations & a free mini dessert on it with a candle lit as we were on honeymoon. Would go again!

I've never been to a Ramsey restaurant, but given his reputation of someone who is demanding and has the highest standards, I was suprised at the very average food quality. It wasn't bad, but it didn't stand out for me as a great meal. We did the 3 course Prix fixe which was reasonablly priced. Given other reviews, I wasn't expecting great service, but was pleasantly surprised that it was attentive and friendly. My biggest knock was that the red wine we ordered must have come straight from the cellar and was too cold to drink immediately.

Cocktail drinks were very good. Service was good. I was less impressed by the food especially given the price and the fact that it bears the name Gordon Ramsay. For Starters, we had the Deviled Eggs which were great, and the tater toots which were ok. The Bronzini was very good whereas the risotto was a little too runny and not enough of the flavors associated with the ingredients came through. Finally for dessert we had the chocolate decadence which was very good. Again good but not great for the price.
