  • Beautiful evening at Sugar Hill
    OpenTable Diner Since 2010

We had a lovely time at Sugar Hill Inn. We purchased the Culinary Experience package while staying at the inn, which I would certainly recommend. For a very reasonable price, we got 5 course for two, plus a wine credit. Each course was exquisite, beautifully presented, delicate and delicious. The dining room is surrounded by windows on three sides, with a view out over the mountains. You sit in unique, comfortable arrangements (we were seated in two love seats which faced each other, with the table between us). The service was friendly and relaxed, not overly formal. The evening finished with a visit from the chef, which was a nice touch. We will definitely return to Sugar Hill.

My husband and I went here to make up for a horrible experience we had somewhere else on our 10th anniversary. This place was so wonderful. My husband and I are both big foodies and the food was elegant and delicious.

Excellent quality of food (gourmet). However, entree portions were the smallest I have ever seen outside Manhattan. The filet was not more than 3 oz, the potatoe cake about 3 inches in diameter , with 3 bite sized carrots. My husband's chocolate pudding (although delicious and very gourmet) was served in a tiny espresso cup with 2 cookies the size of a quarter. Lastly, I paid $12.50 per glass of wine and the waitress filled the glass obviously less than 3 oz. I noticed she gave better pours to other patrons. Not recommended for males, but great for a dieting woman.

The restaraunt at the inn was fantastic. The food was great, breakfast and dinner, and the ambiance was quaint. The inn-keepers do the cooking themselves and do a great job. The wine list is not exhaustive but good selections are available. The service is personal and attentive.

  • I gained 5lbs here! (in a good way)
    OpenTable Diner Since 2012
    Dined on 2/20/2011
Exceptional food. Easily on of the top meals I have had in my life. I wish it was closer to Boston because it is definitely in the middle of nowheresville in snowy NH. The Inn itself was very homey, welcoming and exquisite. For the price it is a good deal, but since we went in the winter I think I would only go back in the summer because we are not skiiers and that's pretty much the only thing to do in the area. The food is why you go to this place. 3 course breakfast included with room rate, dinner is a true 4 course event. The filet was easily on par, if not better than a $45 steak I had at Wolfgang's in NYC, and at Sugar Hill Inn the whole meal was only $55/person. The difference is location obviously. I would highly recommend.

This is truly a North Country gem. Exquisite menu, artfully prepared and presented food. The inkeeper Steve has done a magnificent job in creating a very romantic and elegant experience for his guests. An ABSOLUTE pleasure. We have visited twice, given gift certificates to friends for special occasions and plan to return again soon.

Sugar Hill Inn has a self-training chef. We went for dinner on New Year's Eve. It was a little pricey at $105 per person with one glass of champaign provided. But I must say the food was spectacular. So in the end it was hard to argue about the price. They took very good care not to overbook for the evening so that each meal could be made to order. I'm told the view is spectacular there. Could be a good destination for a weekend getaway.

This restaurant has a lovely setting. Once, we had a great meal here. This time, the food was poorly prepared. I selected a sirloin steak entree, asking for it to be cooked medium. It came to me rare to very rare. I asked for peas with morels to go with my steak. The morels tasted of fish - the worst morels I've ever had. The peas in this dish were hard & bitter. For this prix fix dinner of $52.00, I basically went without an entree. Quite a disappointment. Despite it's lovely location and beautiful dining room, I will not choose to dine here again.

Our dining experience at Sugar Hill Inn was one to remember. If traveling to Sugar Hill Inn, consider staying the night! The rooms are relaxing, romantic, and spare no details. Service at the Inn was top notch with wines for most palettes. The dining room is small and cozy, warmed by a crackling fire and Frank Sinatra gently playing in the background. Portion sizes were perfect, with more an enough food for a small eater, but enough to satisfy the insatiable. While the meal is a fixed price four course event, the selections were different enough that most people would be able to find something to their liking. The food was wonderful and cooked to perfection. We will definitely be dining there again when in the area!
