Seafood was very prepared. Service is great. However, the house salad doesn't look fresh at all. I had fresh salad there before, which is lot freshier. My mom had a diarrhea after dinner.

We attended this restaurant in teh early evening on a quiet sunday night. This was just what we wanted, a less crowded, less noisy dining experience. We enjoyed the subtle tastes particularly in the salad dressings used in our choices. We were there for our anniversary and found it to be a very enjoyable time.

    OpenTable Diner Since 2007

We are seeing a repeating problem with dining at Trio's. That problem is one of feeling pushed to finish our meals so the servers can ready the table for the next diners. Once again, the waiter reached across my husband to retreive his salad plate while he was trying to enjoy his entree. In my opinion, that is not necessary since a salad plate is not in the way nor irritating to anyone. My meal was 3/4 finished, my husband was finished and the waiter removed my husband's plate. That is disconcerting to the one still eating and gives a feeling to the diner that he/she must rush to finish. If I can't have a relaxing meal there, I'll go to another restaurant.

Our lunch was on the fast-track to disaster when after an hour, our food still hadn't arrived. Thanks to above and beyond service and attention from manager Juan (did not catch the last name) our experience went from negative or positive. Juan apologized for the delay as he brought our food, then went on to offer us free dessert. Much to my surprise, when we asked for the check, he informed us that it was taken care of by the restaurant. Needless to say, I was impressed, and went back to Trio my family last night. Bravo!

This was our first (and will be our last) visit to Trio. When we sat down, our server explained to us that Trio was known for its seafood. As we reviewed the menu, we noticed that for a seafood restaurant, fully 3/4s of the menu consisted of non-seafood dishes. As we started reading the menu in depth, we found additional warning signs: overly complicated pizzas, poorly conceived flavor/cuisine combinations and 'something for everyone, nothing for anyone' focus. Although my gaspacho and crab cake apattizers were fine, my companion's chicken pasta was truely awful, consisting mostly of a bland cream sauce with gristly sausage and limp pasta. The only bright spot in the evening was the Bloody Mary my partner ordered. Drinks, maybe. Dinner? No!

    Dined on 6/14/2008
Our meal was good. The presenation and portion sizes were perfect. Timing of courses was terrible. The minute our drnks were served, our waiter wanted to take our dinner order. This was without asking if we wanted appetizers or had any menu questions. We ordered appetizers and once they were served, our salads arrived within 5 minutes. Three minutes later, literally, our entrees arrived. We commented to the expediter but, she just said "oh". Our waiter never checked with us after our appetizers or salads were served so, he was not paying attention to our service timing. If the waiter brought the courses, timing MIGHT have be more controlled. We will probably choose a different restaurant next time.

    OpenTable Diner Since 2007

The staff was knowledgeable and friendly and the atmosphere was sophisticated albeit traditional. The patrons were notably older giving it the feel of an upscale neighborhood social spot more than a trendy hot-spot with attire ranging from suit and tie right down to capris and denim. The common accessory: a schnazzy car parked out front and an expensive handbag. The menu was somewhat limited and uninventive, seeming aimed to please the regulars with home favorites like 'pot roast', various styles of pizza, and 'southern fried chicken salad'. Given the menu choices, the price seemed a bit high with two entrees and a glass of wine running nearly $80. The food was tasty, though. A nice place to bring the parents when they're in town.
