Excellent food, always consistent and prepared perfect. The service was terrific with our waiter who is always great, the wait staff who were really good and attentive and the floor manager who did a special treat for 2 children and is always on his toes and on top of things. Roy’s Rancho Mirage always seems to impress. Whenever I believe they can’t outdo themselves they surprise. Everyone from the Managing Partners to the Servers and even the bus staff are great. I have never had a bad experience at the restaurant. Even when our usual server, Jerome, is out and other servers are there they come by and say “Hello” to us remembering our faces. The Managers, Kamryn and Eddie are the BEST. They always make us feel welcome and like we are very special VIP’s. Now that they have added Executive Chef Adam to the team it has brought the taste of the food over the top. Thank you to all of you… It is well worth the drive into the desert for this experience.

  • Love Roy's, but not here

We love Roy's, been to several locations, mostly Hawaii, San Francisco. Always have a great time and Asian Fusion food is awesome. This Roy's: appeared to want us in and out in 1 hour. Was Southwest meets Asian, every thing seemed to have this chef's special southwest pepper blend, applied with a heavy hand. I couldn't each my prawns & noodles, though I have enjoyed it at other Roy's. Even the chocolate souffle was tinier than usual. I would visit Roy's again tomorrow, but not the Roy's at Rancho Mirage. So disappointing, I was looking forward to it as a highlight of our trip. Roy's fans and Hawaiian lovers should avoid.

  • WAY TOO NOISY!

We had requested a QUIET booth by the wall. When we arrived, those booths were taken and we were seated in the back of the restaurant. It was so noisy that we could not hear each other speak. The food was good, but It was the WORST restaurant I had even been in for noise. When we sat down, we had waiters and other attendants taking our orders and making sure we had drinks and appetizers. Once the food arrived they disappeared and we had to wait for 20 minutes for someone to appear to ask for our bill - he brought it - then left for another 20 minutes. We were so tired by then! We spoke with hostess and she couldn't seem to hear my complaint as I was leaving. She told me to use word SPRING for next reservation and I would get $20 off!

  • Good food but Chain Restaurant feel
    DN1026
    Dined on 4/22/2014
Food was pricey but good. "Butterfish' entrees were the distinctive highlight - would recommend the "Classic Combo". Service adequate. From previous Roy's experiences elsewhere, we were surprised by lack of ambience - less of the distinctive "resort classy casual hawaiian fusion" vibe than remembered. This had a noisy, casual, dining room, corporate chain feel that keep it from feeling like a special occasion place. Surprised by the number of kids/grandkids. Overall, we were disappointed by this perceived shift because we saw little differentiating Roy's from myriad other nice dinner options.

We had our 8 year old with us and they were so attentive and kind, offering him a free appetizer and dessert. Our food was sensational. Highly recommend Roy's!!!

Figue is quite a unique restaurant. The decor is amazing with interesting lighting and interesting seating areas. I made a reservation at 7:45 pm and we weren't seated until 8:30 pm - and there were open tables available. So we aren't sure if the kitchen was backed up or the reception area doesn't know how to seat people. They also don't have any buzzer system, so the reception area has to 'go find you' which is ridiculous with he number of people in the restaurant. The food was quite good although I think my special dish was missing one ingredient, which is ok because I wasn't too sure about the salted fish item anyway. My husband dish was a simple pan fried salmon - would have been nice if the salmon was grilled.

We had another great meal at Roy's on our recent trip to watch the tennis at Indian Wells. Noticed that the Classic Mai Taii is back; the ingredients were changed a while back and I have complained about it on my last several Roy's visits at this and other Roy's. We recommend the ahi poke appetizer and the scrumptious Alaskan black cod main. We split the baby greens salad and each portion could have used more dressing. The piece de resistance was, as usual, the chocolate soufflé, which is richer and more dark chocolatety than Fleming's famous lava cake. The service could have been better: my cocktail was removed before I was finished, and the courses were a tad rushed.

This is the first time I have EVER given Roy's a less than outstanding review. On our last trip to Roy's we ordered our entree and asked that our salad be served last, like we always do. The waiter informed us that "we serve the salad first here" in a very condescending tone and went on to make a big deal about us having our entree as our starter and our salad as our main course. Even if we ordered dessert first that would have been our choice and not up for discussion or review.

Since one of us has a serious soy allergy, we were very pleased that we could get a fish entree (macadamia crusted mahi mahi in a lobster cream sauce) without soybean oil being used in its preparation. t was delicious. The last time we ate there (about 6 weeks ago), the only option we had was a meat entree, disappointing for someone who rarely eats meat.

The staff was attentive though the waitress did not mention chef specials or recommendations . The food needed a bit more flavor (salt which I usually never add) the fish was prepared well and presentation nice. The room was noisy and we had a hard time hearing each other across the table. The chocolate soufflé was very good the scoop of ice cream was very small.
