Although Roy's was packed, we were able to get in earlier than our reservations at the bar. Appetizers came in cold so had to send it back. Entree was good. Vibrant bar scene with awesome patio fire pit for drinks afterwards. Service at the bar was great.

The experience never changes, always on top of their game. This was the 3rd visit, and have tried something different every time. All are our favorites. The staff really play in to the ambience of the whole dining experience. The feeling like it's specially prepared for you with no rush between courses is what eating out is supposed to be. Thanks to all who took part in our dining experience. Don't change a thing.

This wasn't our first Roy's. We've dined at the original in Hawaii Kai and also on Kauai, Kona, Maui, San Francisco and Pebble Beach. I'm pleased to report that Desert Ridge compares well to the best in the chain. Expertly prepared dishes attractively presented and expertly served. And oh, so many friendly people. Mahalo Roy's. Nicely done.

Roy's constantly is changing its menu offerings. However, it also changes how it cooks items already on the menu. The vegetarian noodle dish was much spicier than it was several weeks ago. I had to send it back. The restaurant should inform the diner that the recipe has changed.

We were staying at the Marriott and flew in late in the day. We decided to spend the first day on the hotel grounds the first night. Roy's was recommended by a friend and we were very please with everything. We were seated very promptly and service was excellent. It was a little pricey but that should be expected considering the quality and the fact that it is located in the Marriott.

As always, Roy's does not disappoint. Seafood is cooked to perfection. The staff is fantastic. The location itself is ok. There is not a good view of the hotel grounds. The hotel is doing some renovations to the area sorrounding the pool, so that does not help the scenery. Otherwise, the JWMarriott is a great property worthy of Roy's restaurant.

My wife and I go to Roy's every year to celebrate her birthday. Outstanding service; personable, classy, but not pretentious. Delicious food. Szechuan ribs as appetizer. So good. Then my wife ordered the braised short rib, while I opted for the filet mignon. Both cooked to perfection, accompanied by sauces that raised each dish to another level of deliciousness. For dessert, Roy's famous chocolate souffle. For drinks, my wife had a mai tai, while I had an excellent wine recommended by their wine expert. There's really nothing about our evening that could be criticized, other than that they were quite busy, and so the ambient volume was a bit loud. But still a wonderful meal and a wonderful time, and would recommend Roy's to anyone.

As always, the food at Roy's was fantastic - from salads (beet; wedge) to main courses (scallops; swordfish) and finally chocolate souffle and porto. The service was outstanding - Breanna and Christian made a great team and were attentive, yet not obtrusive - something that is rare in most restaurants today.

    JulieVIP
    Dined on 8/8/2013
The food was great as always, and the service the same. The only complaint is that the place is a little too quiet for me. The bar only had one other patron while we there having our cocktails--an extended Happy Hour may have helped as we did not come until 645 pm. Also, we were seated in a booth that overlooked only one other able with two diners. We felt kind of segregated and there was no people watching. There was nothing wrong with the atmosphere, but I just prefer it to be more vibrant☺

Our reservation was at six. When we arrived a musician was playing a little on the loud side. Many dressed like they had just come from the beach The food was pleasing to the pallette, but more would have been better. My shellfish sampler was very good with a beautifully cooked risotto. A return visit would have me ordering the scallops. Mine was melt in your mouth delicious. Our waiter Scott, who sounds like Kevin Costner, was friendly and efficient, perhaps even a bit sassy, which was not a bad thing. The restaurant had lots of light coming into it, so it had less of that sultry upscale restaurant feel to it. My suggestion would be to go after dark when the pool patrons have cleared out and the interior is less bright.

My wife and I love Roy's. We have been to several locations, both in-state and out of state, and we have yet to be disappointed. The food is always great. At this particular dinning occasion, they were promoting and Filet and Lobster feature that also included a salad for $32.95. I usually don't go for these features, but it was actually quite good. The soufflé at the end is also a must have. Our server, Brandi, also took really good care of us. We had a great time!

Even though the restaurant was situated within a resort the food was outstanding.I had a glass of wine and my wife had a cocanut style drink. We ordered the lobster potsticker appetizer(very good). Our main courses were swordfish for my wife and ono for me.The plate presentation was superb neatly presented. For dessert we finished off with a coffee and cappucino. My wife had shortcake and ice cream and I had caramel macadamia cheesecake.Overall the food was excellent around $120 for two.If I had any complaints it would be that the waitress never asked us if we wanted another drink.

Service is always top-notch and it is pretty cool, that you don not have to listen to a whole list of "specials", because all the "specials" are already on the regular menu! Consistency is what you get here, whether you are in Hawaii, Spanish Bay or Scottsdale.

Very high quality world class food. A few comments, the "fusion" doesn't really work on the desserts. Do not go here unless you value quality over quantity. Their parking validation only covered 1/2 the cost of parking, which seemed a bit petty after spending $800 for 9 people (cocktails, appetizers, dinner, dessert and tip)
