My boyfriend and I had reservations at 7:30 on Saturday, February 12th to celebrate Valentine's Day. When we arrived, the Host asked for the name on the reservation and seated us. About five minutes later, the Host again approached us and asked again for the name on the reservation. This was an interesting question, especially given the fact that half of the restaurant was empty. After 10 minutes, no one had brought us water or asked to take our drink order. At that point, my boyfriend walked across the street to see if Donovan's had room for us to eat. He returned and told me that they had room to eat in their bar area, so we left and had amazing filet at Donovan's Steak House. Soleil had horrible service & I will not return.

We came for the roof top bar and were surprised that the dining room was on the ground floor and had no view at all. The food was very good. Tortilla soup excellent. Filet mignon excellent. A nice Marriott hotel restaurant. Would come again for a drink on the roof top deck but not for the restaurant.

It is hard to believe that a hotel associated resstaurant could be so fabulous! On a recent trip to San Diego, I was hungry and too tired to walk down the street for good eats. Am I glad that I went to the Lobby Level and ate at Soleil @K. The salad with goat cheese was delicious, the chicken spectacular and the cherry cobbler to die for! I am definitely going back on my next trip to SD!

All around nice place but food was over priced for the quality of food. I was expecting amazingly good food but was only average. Not comparable to the price. Place was empty for a saturday night. But good customer service and nice staff.

Walking into Soleil@K, my fiancé and I thought we were in for a treat. The menu looked interesting, the wine selection varied, and the ambience great for our date. By the end of dinner, however, we had both been disenchanted by the lack of attention (and personality) shown by our server, the ridiculously tough texture of the prime rib we ordered, the bland taste of our sides and starters, and our unpleasant luck with two of their wines. While the restaurant does provide a quiet atmosphere that's good for conversation, we were let down in every other respect.

Soleil @k was a great experience. We had a 530 reservation on a wednesday and the place was completely empty, I believe my wife and I were the only two patrons they had during the time we were there. We had the restraunt week menu, and it was exceptional, with the exception of brussel sprouts on my prime rib. The 50% off of the wine list is wine only, we were under the impression that we could get champagne instead. I ended up ordering a draft beer and my wife had a mojito mixed drink. Over all, I would say 4/5.

Food has always been excellent here but I think the service has taken a turn in the wrong direction. A "missing" anniversary note, (either hostess or our waiter jeff's fault), is not acceptable. Also, service just wasn't up to par for a 'upscale' restaurant. Lucky for us, the manager handled this appropriately but I suggest the restaurant hire better waiters or train them better.

It was quiet because no one was there. We had an early evening meeting and needed to eat at 630. There was a 3 course menu on the weekly sheet and apparently they had run out of the main course the night before ( and hadn't ordered more pork chops) and had no substitution to offer. Didn't seem to get this made the restaurant looked silly. Food eventually eaten was very ordinary. Since we we were staying at the hotel we also eat breakfast there the first two days. Expensive- spare and poorly maintained buffet. Sigh. Lots of good restaurants around the quarter.

Disapponting all round, we were the only diners in the restaurant and the noise from the bar watching the football made for a bad experience. Starters were ok but massive. The vegetables were too undercooked to be al-dente. Over-priced and overrated, would not return. Fair view from the roof top bar after the meal

the location of the restaurant is way to close to the bar. It is extremely noisy and made it very difficult to carry on a conversation. We move as far away as possible but it was still a problem. Overall the service was attentive and the wine list was serviceable. The food was well prepared and the wait was relatively short. Overall it is a nice restaurant but I do not think of it as special in any way..

My experience here was only okay, at best. The server looked like he didn't want to be there and I wasn't wowed by anything we got. What was more bumming is that I called ahead of time to make sure they were still having their restaurant week menu that evening and I was told yes by a manager, but when we sat and dined, our server said they were no longer offering the menu. Very dissapointing.

The ceasar salad I had was great but the chicken flat bread I had was horrible. The meat was fatty and even had grizzle in it. The bread was also burnt on the bottom and too crunchy - I couldn't even bite into some pieces (after I removed all of the chicken)because it was too hard. On the flip side, my husband had the pork chop and he loved it. It was cooked perfectly and he loved the sides with it, including the ahi tuna appetizer. So overall, it was a good experience I would just not recommend the flat bread.

Ambiance was very nice. Food was just ok - first course was cold (soup) for half our group - main course was good for some and lukewarm for others - dessert was great. Food server was fine until we told him were ordering off the "rest week menu" then he seemed like we were a bother. We liked the "open" feeling of the restaurant. Would we go back for dinner - probably not - but for dessert, wine and ambiance - YES !

After placing our reservation on the open table website, we made a note that we were celebrating an anniversary. In previous dining out experiences, we were made to feel special with complimentary champagne or dessert for our unique date. While dining at soleil @ k not a word was mentioned and when I asked our waiter Rich, he said he heard of nothing, and still didn't bother to acknowledge it. He never introduced himself and he seemed to be in a hurry which we were not. We were the only table on the patio on a saturday night around 7 pm. Our waiter also made a smudge face and rolled his eyes when we told him we were in no hurry and were not ready to order yet. Overall the food was okay, the service was poor and we won't be back.

Our usual server was not working so had to break in a new girl. The Padres specials have changed slightly and of course with that the prices went up, but these are still deals which are awesome. I had the grilled chicken sandwich and it was a double breast of chicken, swiss cheese, bacon on a nice poppy seeded brioche bun...FOR $8.00...can't beat that with a stick...also comes with fries, but I chose sliced tomato instead. Keep it up Marriott.

The wait staff was sparse. No one took time to explain how the weekday breakfast buffet worked, and that you could order omlettes, french toast, etc. to order. Instead of cream for the coffee, there was milk (and it seemed like non-fat, at that). We were celebrating our 43rd anniversary, and had been given a lovely gift of free breakfast for two, but I don't think that we will be returning based on our visit. It was OK - but certainly not great, and the service was poor. Thanks for asking.

I was a bit disappointed with the brunch; the food reminded me of what some hotels offer "free" for staying at their hotel (fruit, cereal, pastries) although they did offer potatoes and breakfast meat (I don't eat meat).
