I had a 11:30 reservation for 5, but they tried to seat us in a booth for 4 with a chair at the end. Unacceptable. We had to wait 15 minutes for them to find a table for us.

Some seating is a little close to other dining patrons. The food is amazing, the place is beautiful and the service is impecible, however, if you don't get a side booth you will be less than three feet from another couple dining on the same bench.

Overall experience was good, but the server was triple seated with one of the parties being very large. Management did not take up the slack resulting in very slow service towards the end of our meal as well as the 4 top beside us. We always give places new to us a second chance if the food is good and it was.

went there for their lobster special on friday and got a lobster served with half its claw broken off. the other claw was messed up too like it lost a fight in the holding tank. no quality control in checking the entree before it was served. that's what happens when the waiter does not deliver the food, no continuity of service. my wife's hamburger which she asked to have 'well done' was well burnt! overall not a good night for clyde's and the quality control needs big improvement. mentioned this to manager when he came around to check on us and a good restaurant would have knocked something off the price of both meals -- not clydes. ron kelly

The server staff were very prompt and courteous. We really enjoyed having Jen as our server associate. The meals were very generous portions and reasonably priced. Insofar as a lunch venue, there were light and simple assortment (eg. French Dip, Salads, Hamburgers) of food variety. We will strenously consider going to Clyde's of Reston again and again.

Went for the lobster--very good. Restaurant seems more moisy than usual. Service was certainly below what I've received before. The waiter didn't seem to care about what he was doing. Noticed that at other tables, as well. Overall, Clydes is an excellent value for the money.

    Dined on 5/11/2008
I am a Clyde's regular at several of their metro area properties and dine there with both my business clientele and friends and family. This particular visit was the first in years that wasn't enjoyable. The waiter was extremely inattentive, and my food arrived after a very long interval, perhaps 30-40 minutes after my bread. The pork loin was overdone and tough and only lukewarm. I'm thinking it must have sat somewhere without being served to me. The waiter never returned until I'd decided that it was just too late to rectify the siutation or to order dessert, something I usually never turn down at Clydes.

It was wonderful to have a table waiting for us on Mother's Day at noon!! The only thing that could have improved was that I wasn't sure our waiter knew when we had been seated. Clyde's is an old standby. the menu isn't too exciting, but the food is always solid and well prepared. This time we went for the lobster special, and the three of us who got it thought tht it was a great lobster at a good price. The fourth had a steak, which was just what he had in mind. The bartender made a great martiniand the wine selection was good, and at fair prices. The outdoor seating is nice, and unlike most places doesn't feel that it's an afterthought for the wait staff. Since Clyde's of Reston is within walking distance of my house, I'm sure that I'll be back.

We eat at Clyde's in Reston on the average of 3 times or more a month. We also enjoy the new Clyde's in Ashburn. We are treated as regulars here. For example, the waiter brought my husband 2 diet cokes at once remarking he remembered he always was ready for a second. The food is always good, sometimes outstanding. The service is usually good to excellent. The managers are very friendly and often stop by our table. The evening we eat using a open table reservation was the night before Mother's day so we felt we might need a reservation a bit ahead of time. Clyde's was having its Lobster special event. We all had 2 really great lobsters and I had a great raspberry creme brulee.

Restaurant was quite loud on this particular night. Service seemed slower than usual too. Also, we ordered white wine, which sat unopened on a stand next to our table for awhile until the waiter finally had time to come open it. Therefore, it wasn't at the proper temperature and was a little warm by the time it was served. We will be back, as Clyde's is always a place to suit varied palates, but this particular visit was disappointing.

    OpenTable Diner Since 2008
    Dined on 5/9/2008
I was most disappointed in the lobster special; the lobster not only was very small but had been vasly overcooked to the point that the meat was very soggy and mushy...what few bites there were. I have experienced their lobster special before and never had one this bad. The bread, french fries and cole slaw served with the lobster were very good, but again the lobster was very disappointing.

Food is always great! BUT if you desire effiecient or friendly service, go elsewere. Our reservations requested patio seats, but arrived to be told this wasn't allowed. That's ok, but they could have called. We then waited 90min. for a 40min. wait. They'd crossed off our name when they sat the group ahead of us & didn't notice, dispite our checking on our wait 3x, always being told: 5 min more. Our waiter was indifferent at best. Drinks took 20 min, we had to ask to order, there was almost no follow up after the meal arrived & we had to seek out our check. Slow is not always bad, but you shouldn't feel ignored. My family & I have dined at Clydes for years but the service has been lacking in the past year. We'll think twice before returning.

After being seated next to a very loud group We had to wait for fifteen minutes to get even water. Seeing a group of busers standing around talking I went over and requested water and some bread. A waiter brought the water but no bread. We waited another fifteen minutes until our waiter came and we were rushed to order and the food came quickly but not our cocktails and wine by then we were eating. The waiter to his credit was extremely apologetic however the hostess could have sat us at a less busy station which we requested but was told that the booth was set only up for two. The booth sat four. It was a terrible experience and we will never return. Clyde's use to be a restaurant of quality. The hostess could have checked on us.
