A word from Taggia at FireSky
Reminiscent of the Italian Riviera, the experience here is rustic yet refined, casual yet elegant. Featuring Coastal Italian cuisine, our menu highlights fresh seafood and wood fired oven pizzas. Chef Massimo De Francesca transforms carefully chosen organic, seasonal ingredients into the time-tested, naturally healthy dishes of Italy's Ligurian coastline. Believing that true Mediterranean cuisine is defined by the quality of the ingredients, flavorful dishes like Baccala Fritters with Hearts of Palm & Chipotle Aioli or Veal Tonnato with Tuna Emulsion, Pickled Eggs & Gerkin Pesto confirm this. Nestled within FireSky Resort & Spa, Taggia overlooks the lush oaisis lagoon and waterfalls. You can choose from the relaxed casual experience in the dining room with an intimate booth or the livelier social atmosphere of the outdoor patio, with wood burning fireplace and bubbling fountians. My husband and I celebrated our 29th Anniversary at the FireSky Resort and decided to have dinner at Taggia. Are we glad we did! They 3-Course Summer Special was nothing short of delicious. Our wonderful waiter, Chuck, suggested we each get a different antipasto salad to split so it would be "4 courses" as he said. The bibb lettuce salad with bacon dressing was a delight. For dinner my husband had the free range chicken and vegetables which was fantastic. I had the mussels and linguini which was equally fantastic. Our deserts of pistachio gelato for the husband and the berries with light custard for me were the perfect end to a perfect meal. I am so glad we used Open Table and made the reservation for such a romantic dinner.

My wife and I had been to Taggia once before and enjoyed it and thought of it again when we had some guests from San Francisco. They are used to a great menu. Short story- our food and service were superb and our guests felt very well cared for. I highly recommend this restaurant and even more so in winter when you can dine on the patio next to the courtyard with all the fire pits and water features. Also a great romantic spot and place to impress a date. Go- you'll be happy you did.

Pan seared scallops were delicious. Waite staff was very friendly. The carpacchio was the most tender. The Gnocchia with lamb was very rich and satisfying. The Linguine and clams I had had way too much lemon rind.....for my taste. Price was reasonable... Overall, we enjoyed the experience.

We are vegetarian and were able to find several nice selections on the menu. The chef was willing to make slight changes to the menu to accommodate us, but we chose from the existing choices. There was a summer 3-course menu available also. The food was well prepared. The standard butternut squash ravioli was the best we'd ever had.....delicious fresh pasta, tasty filling and sauce. The service was excellent! We stay at FireSky fairly often and always have dinner at Taggia. We're never disappointed.

    - Lunchtime Review 7/16/09 - Just a neat little restaurant tucked into the FireSky resort hotel. Trendy furnishings await you in the lobby, the bar area is in the open (central to the lobby, the restaurant, and the pool!), the restaurant has a few cozy booths amongst its tables, and the outdoor seating is a treat (unless it's above 80 degrees outside). The wine list has some intersting selections, and many of the wines were hand-selected by the FOH manager. Attentive staff, and NOT crowded in the summer. Food was good, but not exceptional; we went for the quiet ambience.

When we arrived at Taggia we were met by a friendly young man (with a British accent) who took us to the perfect table in a large doorway. Inside and outside all at once. Our server, Alex, was knowledgeable of both food and wine. He definatly helped in making our meal an experience not to be forgotten. The food was wonderfull, my wife and I enjoyed our choices. She had the grilled sea bass and I had Brodo di Pesce, both WOW. I will recomend this restrauant to all.

We were there for Valentine's Day and everything was really good. Service was a little slow at times, but I think our server was having to pull double duty for someone that may have not showed up for their shift. Even in his rush to keep up with all the tables, he was very polite and informative, as was all the staff we interacted with. Our bill was roughly $100 for 2 appetizers, 2 entrees, 2 scotches, and a glass of wine.

Upon being seated, the waiter's arrival to our table was encroaching on ignorment; When asked about 2 wine selections by the glass, his answers did not help, but ran in circles of confusement in advising a choice, and on the bill was charged a higher amount than was on the wine list; Dropped the ball twice, just on the libation... Than, another disappearing stint, followed by me having to ask for bread to counter the absentitism of his service... The bread plate was actually top notch(and that usually pacifies patrons during bouts of not being "JOHNNY-ON-THE SPOT" server). Food was very good, and we would go there in the future, 'just not the same waiter!' Service has it part, just as the food and ambeience of the restaurant has theirs'....

I was expecting some very authentic Italian Coastal cuisine when my wife and I went there for our anniversary. Our waiter informed us the executive chef's mother is from Italy and provided him with some of the recepies so you can imagine how excited we were. We just moved here from San Francisco where great Italian food is a given and long-story short...we were dissapointed. My risoto was undercooked. My wife was able to pick up her pasta in one clump using her fork...definitely reheated in the microwave. My fish was cooked perfectly, but the flavor was not existent. I can't imagine a mother from Italy would have allowed this to happen to her recipies. They played it safe...no spice...no flavor...no imagination...no repeat business from us.

My husband and I had a wonderful time. We are foodies and go on a date night once a week. We are in our early 40s. The hotel entrance is very lovely, old world Tuscan feel. The restaurant is not too over done; casual but nice. We sat outside-it was beautiful. Lighting, heat lamps, fireplace-all good. The staff was very knowledgeable & friendly. Breads with local olive oil was terrific. Food was light but authentic. My husband had a fish dish in a clay pot-very southern Italy-it was delicious. We asked for light oils, no butter, no salt and they accommodated happily. After dinner we took a stroll thru the pool. fire pit & lounge areas. I would not only go back to Taggia but would stay at the hotel even though we live locally.
