We were the only people there until the very end of our dinner and while that means it is nice and quiet, it feels a bit awkward. The food was quite enjoyable (I had the sablefish & my boyfriend had the duck)....next time we decided we'd get the 3 appies for $28. Best part of all: 50% off bottles of wine on Wednesdays!!

I work in the area and this is a great addition to Lower Lonsdale. A regular spot for afforable special occasion work lunches. Food is consistently good with lots of West Coast local fare and seafood. A reliable neighbourhood dining option that never disappoints!

    OpenTable Diner Since 2009

This is the type of restaurant you would choose when treating an elderly relative. The food is not adventurous, but it has the type of dishes they would be comfortable with. Points for the vegetarian options and the attentive service. The creme brulee was substandard but the mains were quite good. Once the development on the waterfront is completed and the view is better, it might be a good spot for sipping wine and sharing appetizers.

We went to try their Father's Day Brunch and we were kind of disappointed. Food selection was alright but there were no assorted breads on the buffet. We had to ask the server if they had bread. Also, the Prime Rib was so rare from all sides of the meat. I asked if they had at least a medium and tto visit again. The lady said no, it's all the same. Overall, good to try not to return to.

  • Must admit that the Lobby
    OpenTable Diner Since 2010

Must admit that the Lobby did not meet our expectations as a place to enjoy a good meal with friends. The food was fine-the pasta entree was fairly bland and nothing special but the other meals were OK. Salad was nice as was the calamari appetizer but the sticky toffee pudding was boring & more of a cake than a pudding. Our server was very pleasant but also very inexperienced. We asked for some bread or dinner rolls and she came back with a tiny plate containing two very small rolls and proceeded to explain that they were out of bread as the banquet area had taken it all(???)All in all the four of us agreed that while we would probably not rush back here for dinner we may come back for drinks and appies- also- wine list is VERY overpriced.

Although the meal was outstanding, the menu was very limited. We expected to have a fabulous view of the water and Vancouver cityscape, but the restaurant is on ground level and the floor to ceiling windows look out onto a back alley with a building smack in your face. There is no water view, or any view at all - and for this reason we were extremely disappointed and would not return or recommend it to anyone.

It if wasn't for all the signage pointing the way, we would not have found it. The restaurant looks and feels like a coffee shop but the menu caters to a more sophisticated palate. I think there will be increased traffic once all the building is finished around the hotel. Food was very good.

We have been to The Lobby previously and had had good experiences, particularly with the food. The service has ranged from excellent to good. Because of our previous good experiences we asked friends to join us for Mother's Day brunch. Our reservation was for 2:30. At 3: we were told that we had 10 minutes left before the buffet was being dismantled and there would be no more food. I asked to speak to a manager and none was made available to me. The whole experience was very disappointing and embarassing considering that we had invited people to join us.

This was the second time I've been to The Lobby and it was a lot busier than the first time. The food was good. I took my mum for mothers day and we agreed that the scrambled eggs were the best buffet scrambled eggs we've had. The service however, was not so good and certainly not as good as it was the first time. It seemed like there weren't enough staff to handle the volume. I would go back but would lower my expectations on the service side.

Food was good, but not good enough to bring us back. Service was inattentive; I had to get the waiter's attention a couple of times even though there was only one other table of diners. Maitre d' and waiter were pleasant enough, but where was their attention being directed? Hard to tell.

    OpenTable Diner Since 2010
    Dined on 4/26/2010
The service was the best part of the experience, although not that busy i am going to assume it will always be good. the halibut and chips were very good, light batter, not overcooked, the french fries were very tasty - not just a chalky potato taste. The seafood pasta (pene) was delicious - lots of salmon and halibut. we ordered the hot chicken wings and they were good but I do prefer when the wings don't have a batter type coating because they tend to be a bit soggy. After our first experience we went back a few days later to have another dish of the halibut and chips and a repeat of the "sticky toffee pudding", which, by the way, is to die for. It will be extra pleasant when the work on the waterfront is done.

A long, multi-purpose room - lounge, bar and restaurant, attractively decorated. A quiet evening with the Canucks game on the TVs over the bar. Attentive service. Not a huge menu, a bit of a combination of brunch/lunch/dinner dishes covering all the basics of fish/chicken/beef/eggs. Several salads, nicely dressed. Reasonable wine list. Sticky toffee pudding good, but not quite besting Burgoo's across the street. A nice option for a quiet drink after a movie or stroll along the promenade.

    OpenTable Diner Since 2010

Lunch was perfect - the menu was extensive, the food was excellent, tasty and nicely presented. The service was good, and the meal was well priced, given the prime lower Lonsdale location. We enjoyed the crab cakes/citrus, presented on variety of crisp greens and sprouts. The crab cakes were the best ever ($17). The creme brulee; and the lemon custard tart; were both amazing ($7 each). We didn't adventure into the wine list. It was probably extensive and reasonably priced also. From: Two "young" senior Aussie born ladies, who enjoyed a reunion lunch together there today. April 3rd 2010.

The food and service was superb. The ambience was somewhat confusing ... they need to decide if they are going to cater to a "sports bar" scene or a fine dining scene. Having TV screens and a sports bar like atmosphere in a fine dining establishment just won't work. Perhaps on one side of the fireplace they could have proper dining tables and the other side, keep it like a sports bar. The food could not have been better though!

OK. Disappointingly limited selection on the weekend for lunch. Has potential to be a popular spot with neighbourhood residents with a few changes. Friendly knowledgable staff. Liked the addition of the freestanding fireplace to break up the room and give a cozier ambiance. Wine priced a bit high overall. More selection on the lower end would be welcome.

The Lobby is part of the new Pinnacle Hotel. It has a nice clean decor, modern, sleak design and a very "average" looking menu (nothing different really stands out), but the food is prepared beautifully and the presentation is great. The staff are also very friendly. It has a nice bar too, and a small lounge area.. which look as inviting as the formal dining area. In fact the bar menu is quite appealing. I would recommend the fresh oysters.. they are served with a rasberry vinegarette, that has a dash of pepper added - superb!
