Had a great dinner while on a Snowmass ski vacation, party of 8 with 4 kids, 2 under 8. Terrific food (caesar salad with white anchovies was solid, hangar steaks were perfectly done, and braised short ribs were melt in mouth) and great atmosphere -- service was great, too, and everyone (kids included) left happy. Really happy place that would work for a special occasion for 2 up to a large family party, Would highly recommend.

The atmosphere is intimate, warm and embracing, perfect after a "hard" day throwing yourself down the snow covered mountains, trying to keep up with your teenager! Every bite of everything we ordered was a flavorful sensation and divinely enjoyed by each of us, including the Maine Lobster Pot Pie, Truffle fries, Flat Iron Steak--that chimichurri sauce is tantalizing!, grilled Artichoke, apple tart a la mode! Can't wait to return and try a few other things! The wine complemented perfectly! Thank you!!

This is a regular spot when in Snowmass, one of the more gourmet dining spots in the Village. The trout is always delicious. The wait staff were very accommodating of splitting checks, entrees etc for our group of 8 one night last week. Was also here with a friend and staff was quite attentive. Food was beautifully presented and delicious.

We ate at the Artisan and was pleasantly surprised by everything from the food,to the service, to the ambiance. It's a wonderful, cozy environment with delicious food, great wine list and even had a great kids menu for our two children. Our waitress was very attentive, checking on us at the perfect time for drink refills, etc. Seriously the best restaurant on the mountain.

They were able to squeeze us in and it ended up being a genuine treat. The service was great - very attentive and not overbearing, and we didn't feel rushed at all. The food was wonderful - the short ribs were delicious and the salmon was the best I've had in a long time. The dinner was an overall wonderful experience, it was not overly expensive for the quality of the food, and it was the best dining experience we've had in a while. Would definitely recommend this for a romantic, wonderful dinner. We've also had breakfast here - the omelet bar is terrific as well. This place is a true gem!

An eclectic menu and a casual dinning atmosphere make this an excellent choice for families or couples seeking quality food at reasonable prices. The menu is varied enough to please any resort-going skier, and some immaginative apres dinner desserts and drinks round the experience out nicely. A perennial favorite with our family, we dine there on every visit to the Snowmass area.

Since I have some food allergies I was a bit concerned about what to order. The chef was so kind to "specialize" my dinner by leaving a few ingredients out of my order and it was just plain delicious. I wanted to eat there every night but my husband wouldn't let me. I had to settle for every OTHER night! YUM can't wait for the day after tomorrow. This is the best food in Snowmass (or Aspen) as far as I'm concerned and the staff is a hoot to boot.

  • Our service was very poor.

Our service was very poor. We arrived early for our reservation and wanted to tell the hostess but she was nowhere to be found as a line of five or six parties formed. Instead we proceeded to the bar. The drinks were good. At the time of our reservation we were told "our" table wasn't ready. This was despite the fact that three empty tables had been visible since we first arrived. About fifteen minutes reservation time, they sat us at one of those empty tables. The food was fine. We each got a different sandwich and split the Mac n cheese and chicken lollipops. No complaints about the Mac n cheese but it was nothing special. The lollipops used too many flavors that did not mesh well. The entrées were each passable but not worth it.

Given the reviews we had read for this restaurant our expectations were high. Unfortunately we found everything other than the service to be just average. The food was ok but not great. We had the flatbread (which is really a pizza and too large as an appie for just 2 people), the trout and the rabbit risotto. The flatbread would have been better if it had been served hot, the trout was bland, and the risotto was an odd combination of rabbit and cherries (which just didn't seem to work). With all the other options available for dining in Snowmass and Aspen, I would give this one a pass.

Went there with a large party and all very, very happy with their meal (gnocchi, duck, risotto, truffle fries) but the flat iron steak was the sole exception as it was too charred. For dessert, highly recommend the cinnamon bread pudding. Overall, a great evening with excellent service from Henrietta.

I hope to visit many times in the future. I sent instructions( no booth, table.next to a window) which were fulfilled to a tee.

My wife and I recently spent a fall weekend in Snowmass, CO to celebrate my birthday. We reserved a dinner at The Artisan at Stonebridge Inn after reading the great reviews they've received, and we weren't disappointed. The gracious manager, Debbie, led us to a cozy table near the large stone fireplace, which was quiet and intimate. We both ordered the trout dish - which previous diners had raved about - and they were perfectly done and delicious. An extra treat was the 1/2 price special for bottles of wine, and the recommended pinot noir was an excellent pairing to the food. We were dressed casually, but the restaurant would have been ideal for a dress-up romantic dinner as well. We would highly recommend The Artisan !!

The Artisan is one of our favorite stops when visiting Snowmass Village. The food is great, very nice wine list, and the ambience is one of casual rustic elegance. One can dress up for a romantic evening or roll in off the slopes from a hike or ski and be comfortable. I love that we don't have to leave the Village for an exceptional meal. There were four of us this time, arriving hungry. We started with olives and the Cheese/Charcuterie Plate. We were all quite happy with our dinner choices, and still had room to share some desserts.

We enjoyed our dining at this local Snowmass Village restaurant and will return. The trout is probably the best item on the menus and is highly recommended. The rib eye steak was good but not great. The entire wine list was half price resulting in exceptional values for some of the better wines and prices below those at liquor stores. Unfortunately they are required to open the bottle at the restaurant (probably due to liquor laws) or I would have ordered several bottles to go.

Rarely does my husband feel motivated to compliment the chef or do I energetically complete questionaires, like this one. After our delicious, unique dinner dishes (the trout and the Colorado chicken with carmelized onions and polenta), at the Artisan, he did just that - went to the kitchen to compliment the chef. The kudos were well-deserved. Before we went to Snowmass, several friends had recommended the Artisan, and they were right.
