The general consensus of my party of 7 was that the food was good but not great. I definitely felt that the opentable review for the food was too high. Our server was very good. Friendly but not familiar. But the whole meal took a VERY long time. 2 hours in total for salad and entrees. We decided not to stay for dessert because we were afraid we would be there for another hour. Definitely don't bring your kids here. We had ours with us, and fortunately they were brilliantly well behaved that night and we had extra adults to help us. But even my oldest, who is very well behaved at restaurants (as they all are, but he can really sit for a WHILE) had to be taken for a walk for some fresh air.

I have been wanting to go to Olivadi for awhile now and was glad I finally made it there. I made a reservation but our table was not ready, we were happy to eat on the lounge side though at the time we walked in. By sitting on the lounge side we were able to order from the full menu and the pub menu. Our drinks and food were great however the server was very unattentive. The gentleman the poured our water and brought our bread was much more personal. The server did not give us her name and she seemed to be annoyed with us. After finishing dinner we went to the bar for a second round of drinks and the bartenders were very friendly. Because the atmosphere is so intimate I think next time we will just go to the bar for our meal.

We tried Olivadi for my boyfriend's birthday. We had an 8:15 reservation but arrived early hoping we could find a spot at the bar to wait. The bar was packed, fortunately we were sat early which we appreciated. The food was either good or flavorless it was one extreme to the next. The server disappeared for long bouts making it a long visit and I was particularly frustrated when we left that no one directed us or was even at the.hostess desk to find our jackets. Overpriced for the quality.

This was our second time here and we loved it and brought two friends. I am GF so the fact that they can make me pasta and any dish I want and I can eat it, is a miracle. The restaurant is comfortable and beautiful inside. The food is excellent and this is now our new fave local restaurant! Thank you, thank you!

My husband and I recently moved from Boston and to be honest, don't go out to eat much in the suburbs. We figured that the best restaurants are all in the city. However, we tried out Olivadi for Valentine's Day this year, and were mightily proved wrong. The restaurant is tucked away in downtown Norwood and has a nice bar in the front area. We were seated right away and a series of wait staff greeted us at the table with requests to take our coats, choose our water preference, give us menus. The service was prompt and frequent. We tried the gamberoni appetizer; the jumbo shrimp were well flavored with a touch of sherry and served over bed of couscous. For dinner, the lamb chops were divine. Go for it! You will definitely enjoy.

Arrived early for a reservation and asked if we could get squeezed in early. A table of six was just about to eat in the bar when the hostess said they had room for them, so we figured it wouldn't be too long. We sat at the noisy crowded bar to wait, and wait some more while staring the whole time at an empty table right around the corner. My wife commented on it and we passed the next hour trying to find a reason why they wouldn't seat us at the empty table. Then finally when our original reservation time approached, we were finally seated...that's right...at the same table we had been staring at for the last hour. After that our service was fine and the food was excellent as usual, but the long pointless wait almost ruined it for us.

Overall, a nice enough place ... just a tad pricey for what you get, but acceptable. Our early evening experience was marred by the fact that we got seated at the table closest to the kitchen door ... my view was a refrigerator! Probably should've asked to be re-seated, but didn't. Calamari appetizer was very good. Past bolognese sort of OK but not at all up to standards I've had other places. Waitress was very pleasant when we saw her, but not particularly attentive; took a few tries to get the drink I requested! OK ... but I wouldn't rush back before trying other places in the area.

Olivadi is beautiful inside, the menu has some unique choices and some classics to choose from. The appetizers were delicious! The main lunch courses needed a little salt across the board, but otherwise it's a nice spot. The service did leave something to be desired. The waitress was barely around and never asked how everything was once she brought out our food.

We went twice within ten days in January, 2014. Beet salad was good but Caesar was just OK. Vegetable soup was good but onion soup was just OK. Shrimp Scampi was good but lobster ravioli was cold, fiberous and not good. Veal scallopine looked like a large fried and breaded pan cake. Pork tenderloin was good but a bit chewy. The gelato wasn't gelato, just American ice cream. The cheese cake was heavy, chewy and had little flavor. The service was mixed.....not fine dining!

We found the food to be surprisingly good for the price. Scallops were cooked just right and the pork tenderloin was the juciest port I've had since Europe. The wait staff was very attentive and the dining environment was very comfortable. In short, this one's a keeper. It's about a 45 minute drive from our house but it's worth it.

one summer day saw people eating out on porch and said to my wife, "how did we miss this place?" went back second time with our kids and had a very nice meal with a fabulous zinfandel called Predator. hostess welcoming and genuine. (she even unwrapped the mints of the two older men on their way out before seating us, apologizing for having done so but also making it clear she had no choice really.) service a bit slow. I know servers risk being too attentive but she really seemed absent most of the time and failed to give my 16 year old son a chance to order a diet coke. food quite good. very fresh and generous in portion size. bready crab cakes were soso. they almost always are unless you make them yourself.

We booked a small private function room, which worked great for our group. The service was exemplary, and we just love the food at Olivadis. The antipasto plate for the group was delicious, the fried calamari crisp and done the way we like it. The rack of lamb my husband had was the best he has had in years, and the vegetarians in the group were happy with the choice of pasta dishes. We will definitely go back.

Dish similar to a dish at Delphinos but much smaller and not as tasty. Olivadi's is one of our favorite restaurants in the southwestern suburbs of Boston. We have eaten here many times in the past year and we can depend on the food being very good.....often outstanding. Don' t miss the mussels fra diavolo appetizer It is about the mussel preparations we have ever had anywhere. The swordfish special stayed on the grill a tad too long but a very flavorful Sicilian sauce loaded with olives (NOT OUT OF A CAN) compensated for that. Portions are huge; appetizer and dessert are more than enough for 2 people, and should be split to avoid a complete pig-out. A glass of Sauvignon Blanc was surprisingly good for wine by the glass. Don't miss Olivadi's. You can depend on on getting a great Italian/American meal.
