WOW!!! Only negative (which isn't really a negative) is that there are too many food choices btwn bar menu and regular dining room menu. I wanted to try EVERYTHING!!! Service was impeccable too. Have lived in Norwood for sometime and can't believe I didn't try it until last week for the 1st time! Definitely going to be back again, and again, and again. Not sure if they offer brunch/kids or lunch menu, etc. (things I didn't check).

The evening was good initially, but progressively worsened. Previously, we had been there for New Year's Eve, and it was quite good. This time, however, the booth we had was too small, tight, in the rear of the dining room. They quite nicely accomodated us in the lounge, quite a good alternative, and were content, looking over the menu and ordering drinks. Upon ordering, we found to,our dismay, that the choices we wanted were all gone! No pork chops, cod, and a few other items weren't available. There had been a weekend special for Valentine's Day and by Sunday, things were sparse. It was still enjoyable, but not as we had expected, for sure.

Dining experience was excellent - service superb, food outstanding - only comment on location of table - near kitchen opening and across from large table - created a noisy environment from both sides. Restaurant was accomadating - when I called to confirm reservation they asked if we wanted an earlier time - this worked out well. This was the fourth time I have had lunch/dinner and I have not been dissapointed. Next time will ask for table nearer to the windows on Guild Street (or depending on who accompanies me - a high table in the bar area). Have definitely recommended it to friends.

  • "You only have one bite left"

My husband and I tried Olivadi for Valentine's Day for the first time. We intentionally made an early reservation since it was a Sunday evening. Sadly, our meal was rushed and the entree was brought out while we were still eating our salads. When we ordered dessert, the waitress seemed annoyed. As I was eating my dessert, the waitress approached and asked me if I was done. I smiled and told her "I'm still working on it." She responded by informing me that I only had one bite left. I told her that I was aware of it. It was so awkward, embarassing, and humiliating. As much as I really LOVED my meal - it was delicious - I don't think I ever want to go back again.

We enjoyed a quiet lunch--there were only about 6 people dining. The bread and spread were yummy. The calamari was excellent! My friend's encrusted salmon was delicious. My panini "sangwich" was only fair. The desserts were very good. I would definitely go again (to eat the salmon) and if I lived closer, I would give dinner a try for sure. The restaurant is spotless, warm, and inviting.

We love Olivadi, and it has replaced Bon Caldo as our go-to place for special events. We had a great meal there last night, and the complimentary glasses of champagne to celebrate my wife's birthday were very much appreciated. Service last night was impeccable. The ambiance is very nice. Not too loud, stuffy or pretentious. And of course the food is wonderful. Last night I had the Tutto Pepe - pepper-encrusted sirloin steak w/ a gorgonzola cream sauce. Cooked to a perfect medium rare. Juicy and so flavorful. The sides of spinach and truffled tater tots were fantastic as well. My wife usually gets the Nonna's Roast chicken or the pasta Bolognese. Last night it was the chicken and it was splendid as always. You can't go wrong he

We got there on time for our 8pm reservation and the place was packed. By 8:25 we were still waiting for our table and the hostess offered to sit us in the bar. That ended up working out b/c we had the benefit of choosing from both the bar menu and main restaurant menu. The food was great, gourmet tater tots...yum! We all enjoyed our main courses and the dessert was delicious and decadent. I'd say plan to go around 8:30 and the rush will have died down. By 8;45 the place was practically empty.

Excellent experience at Olivadi. The waitstaff was excellent, food very good. The only thing we did not like was the acoustics. You could hear everyone's conversation in the entire bar area. Enjoyed our visit and would definitely go back again!

We enjoyed the restaurant. Service was slow to start; we sat for about 15 minutes before someone can to fill our water and another 10 minutes before the waiter came to take our drink order. (There were empty tables so were surprised that the initial service was slow.) We had to ask for bread twice. Once our meal order was taken, the waiter was more attentive without hurrying us. The food was excellent so the overall evening was enjoyable.

Our waiter was very helpful throughout the entire service and was accurate in the describing the size portions, so we didn't end up ordering too much food. Gnocchi appetizer was awesome and the puree with the bread is outstanding. Will definitely return to try other appetizers and entrees we saw but didn't have the room for!

    OpenTable Diner Since 2007

This was our first visit to Olivadi on a quiet Wednesday night. We had made reservations for a group of four. When we entered the restaurant there was no one at the reception desk. A bus boy appeared and seated us at a table. The manager (or owner) was visible to us most of the evening, yet he never approached our table nor did he acknowledge our presence. The decor was very nice, service good and food very good, except for the salmon - it was overly dry. We will probably give Olivadi a second try before we would recommend it to others.
