A word from The Melting Pot - Bellevue
Situated in the hub of Downtown Bellevue, The Melting Pot provides a casually elegant, intimate atmosphere. The relaxing 4 course experience begins with cheese fondue prepared tableside. Fresh salad follows while your entrée pot heats up. You’ll simmer a variety of tantalizing meats, seafood, & vegetables. Each morsel is hot, fresh, & flavorful. Entrees are accompanied by an array of dipping sauces to add to the fun. Your choice of chocolate fondue is the grand finale, served with a variety of delicious dippers. Many have stopped by to satisfy that fondue craving after a movie at Lincoln Center, a day of shopping at Bellevue Square or The Bravern, or a family outing at the park.

We feature an extensive wine list, fresh trendy cocktails, & specialty martinis.

This is the third year I have taken my now 10 year old grandson to the Melting Pot. He loves the dipping of a wide variety of goodies into the steaming chocolate. We celebrate both of our January birthdays with the decadent but delicious chocolate fondue. We will be there again next year. Pricy but very special.

We have eaten at the MP many times, with the experience excellent! However, our last visit was not so great? they were short staffed, which made the service somewhat slow. Our waitress, (tatooes down her arms) was exceptional; she kept or tried to keep up with the demands of the peoples demands. The food, mainly the steak, was tough, didn't taste like tenderloin or filet. The portions seemed to be smaller in size to the last time we dined there? You folks charge a pretty penny for entrees, so you should make it worth the dining! It will be a while before we return.

My children love to eat at the Melting Pot. They love cooking their own steak, chicken and ravioli. They think fruit dipped in chocolate for dessert is the greatest! The Melting Pot is a kid friendly place but just know that a 3 course meal is a 2 hour commitment.

The Melting Pot has now become my new favorite spot for special occasions, and I think my kids agree, since all three have asked to go there for their birthdays. Even my picky little eater had a blast and tried at least one new thing on his plate. Make sure to leave plenty of time, as this is not a fast dining experience. You have to take the time to not only wait for each morsel to be fully cooked, but you'll want to sit and savor each and try all the sauces. Definitely do the 4-course meal! Every bite was a wonder!

We were a little hesitant to take our 5-year-old, but were pleased to find that they have a "kid's plate" to sample beef, chicken, shrimp and pasta, and were accommodating about up-sizing courses. He handled the raw meat and hot plate like a pro. Our waiter was energetic and engaging, made us feel comfortable and made helpful suggestions. Only downside was that parking was an issue; we parked under a nearby building and it was a little complicated to get our car out.

Despite having a reservation shortly after the restaurant opened and numerous empty tables we had to wait 15 minutes before we were seated. After being seated it was another 15 minutes before anyone greeted us and asked for our drink orders. We were at a table with two burners - one heated very well and the other barely heated at all. This made the cheese course difficult as the cheese would not melt. It also made cooking our entree very time consuming. Service at the table was almost non-existent. After paying over $300 for a party of five (no alcoholic beverages were consumed) we expected more.

The seafood that was part of the prix fixe was flavorless and rubbery. Portions were much smaller than previous experiences here at well. Service was well below par - apparently because gratuity was included this evening @ 20%. (Slow to provide refills, slow to remove plates, very slow to bring the check.) I paid with cash and wasn't even provided the correct change in return. Had loved Melting Pot in the past. But, my visits will remain in the past - future outtings will be elsewhere.

The server was good, but the food is bland, expensive (for what you get), and definitely not worth 2.5-3 hours of your life if you do the 4-course option. If you must go here, go for the chocolate or dessert fondue. That's good. Even then, there's so much more tastier desserts elsewhere.

As usual, food quality was good, but noticed a reduction in the portion sizes with the main fondue and desert. While I'll continue to enjoy the place from time to time usually for special occasions, I'll look to lower expectations. On the flip, with the smaller portions, I was able to move to the desert course, which is usually deferred. Please re-tune.

Overall great food and service. Would be good spot for romantic date if tables were spaced apart more. Had another party next to us and had to hear their conversation and really spoiled any nice romantic dinner or chance for more intimate conversation. A bit pricey and would not recommend family dining. Have eaten at other fondue places just as good and not as expensive

We came for the traditional cheese fondue, but found ourselves going for all 4-courses (cheese fondue, salad, soup fondue, and a chocolate fondue). Our server was great with decoding the menu options to fit our table's appetites. 4-course meal service for 3 adults with 1 cocktail totaled $150 and 3 hours. Doing it again, we would just do the cheese and/or chocolate. And also if you're in a time constraint, at least for us, the soup fondue took the longest. Really great for groups. And, it's a large space but they block it off so it's intimate enough. Tip: Go early (limited parking in the building) and skip the salad (opt for more refillable veggies with the cheese fondue). Oh, and expect to leave smelling like food.

We've been to this location several times and the food never disappoints. Although I did notice that the prices have gone up drastically and the portions have gotten much smaller. Unfortunately, this seems to be the trend with so many restaurants these days. Our waitress was definitely new to her job. She rambled through the menu in seconds and spoke very fast. It was very hard to follow her at times because she was very rushed. The waiter at the table next to us was much more professional and took his time to explain the menu to his guests. He was a lot more thorough and made you feel more welcome. Other than that, it was a very typical evening at The Melting Pot.

I have dined here many times with my wife and friends, the food is amazing. I enjoy the high flavor choices and unique fondue experience. Our server was not up to the typical standard. We requested more dippers and waited 15 minutes, the cheese had dried up and refills for water and soda was not happening at all. I may not risk coming back to this location and may go to the Seattle location instead.

Delicious fondue choices, but the service was unusual. When he was there, he had lots to do - recipes to prepare, very friendly, but we waited a loooong time with empty water glasses, even had to ask twice to get a fork (and sat with a pot of broth steaming and unable to cook in it!). BUT the fondue was delicious, they were able to bring me a gluten free meal with minimal drama or sacrifice. Very romantic atmosphere, but not stuffy or too formal. Will come back again, may try for a NON Saturday night/peak time.

Despite the restaurant getting noisy (of course, not their fault - why do people talk so loudly when they eat?), the experiece is fun. The service great, the food yummy, and the fun of fondue is unique. Start to finish was 2.5 hours. Although that seems long, it didn't drag at all - always something to do. The food was delicious. The service was fine, but can be improved. I understand that everyone is busy during dinner time, but I was hoping someone could at least come to check to see if we need more water or something. The parking space is limited. It was a big challenge to find a parking. Besides, most parking space was very small, only for compact cars. Don't drive your big van or SUV if you want to dine there.

This is truly a dining experience, where you can VERY leisurely prepare and consume your meal - our group of four spent almost 3-1/2 hours on a Saturday early evening. Don't get me wrong - this is not a complaint - service was excellent, responsive, and friendly; it is just a no-rush experience where you cook your food in boiling broth a few bites at a time, and enjoy the experience with friends. The only surprise for me was that I recall this being a quieter, more subdued dining experience, but there were a lot of families and birthdays going on that raised the volume some, though we ate very early and maybe were there during the family time.

Did this for my 40th wedding anniversary because my son highly recommended. Booked for a night when a magician would be there for some entertainment. Despite asking our waiter several times about the magician (he had no idea) apparently the magician goes to tables. Well he never came to ours, oh well, you only have a 40th once in a lifetime, who cares not important. Food was so so, nothing spectacular and the ambiance, well with some overhead lights it could have been a Denny's. Not worth the price. Considering we rarely go out to dinner, I guess we expected more. The waiter was very nice.

We always have fun when we go here. My girlfriend and I brought her parents for their first time and we had a great night. Our servers Andrew and Alex were really friendly and fun. The whole meal was delicious, but cheese and chocolate always steals the show. I've had better luck in this Bellevue location than Seattle, so we typically go here instead. Easier parking as well. Happy hour is PACKED with the tiny bar, but stopping in late on a weeknight is always fun. We usually skip dessert at other restaurants in the area and come here instead.
