Excellent restaurant! Both Marcellino and his wife Sima came over to the table. They were friendly and warmly welcomed us to their establishment. The food was delicious and the wine superb. Overall, one of the best dining experiences we have had in a while.

While several of the dishes were quite good (there were six of us with appetizers, entrees, and desserts), one was very poor and others mediocre...and all were very over-priced. Service was okay but stiff and not particularly friendly. There are too many excellent high-end restaurants at good value in Old Town and near the waterfront to make this one a do-over which is unfortunate as we like to support local restaurants and want to see the waterfront thrive. We do like the fact that they support Phoenix Opera!

The food and service were both amazing. The handmade pastas were unbelievable. Our waiter, Armando, was extremely helpful. Don't make a decision until after you hear about the specials. This is a can't miss spot.

We brought a group of customers here and were well taken care of. The menu was outstanding as were the specials. Excellent wine list and at the end of dinner the chef (who may have also been the owner?) came out to thank us and ask us how everything was. My only regret was that we couldn't set up for a large group outside as it was a beautiful evening.

Marcellino had just moved the previous Friday to their new location in downtown Scottsdale on Stetson Drive. Overall, the food was delicious, well- prepared, and chef Marcellino came to our table to ask how everything was. Italian food with a different twist, and using all very fresh ingredients. A fine dining experience. We did think that the pasta entrees were priced a bit high, at $32+ for some of them.

The food is to die for!! Marcellino and his wife greeted us at our table. It was opera night and we were lucky to see two very talented members of the Phoenix opera who sang in the restaurant. What a beautiful experience. Marcellino has been a chef in Italy, and New York. He is very talented and creates the most delicious home-made pastas I have ever tasted. Every time we are in Phoenix I make it a point to dine with our friends at Marcellino's.

The meal was absolutely amazing!!! Chef Marcellino was very considerate to come over to table to say hello. Such a beautiful place, great service, and by far wonderful homemade food. Polenta with sauteed mushrooms & truffle oil-outstanding. Main course-Porcini Mushroom Pasta with Lobster & Filet/Vegetable Tortellini were out of this world. Will most definitely be enjoying another meal at Marcellino's.

Appetizers, soups & salads are all outstanding. So are all the handmade pastas. This visit included the Cacio e Pepe (cheese & black pepper-infused pasta with sautéed pancetta) and the Porcini Fettuccine (porcini & shiitaki mushrooms and lobster meat). Both were excellent and our server paired some nice wines to go with them. It's a bit of a drive for us, but always worth the trip. Well, almost always. We try to avoid Opera Nights: they're just too noisy.

Absolutely amazing! You may feel a bit of sticker shock when you see the prices but once the food hits the table and between the visual presentation, the aroma and finally the taste, you will know that every penny was well spent. The restaurant was warm and charming, the patio was comfortable and secluded and the service was perfect. Questions were answered, recommendations were made and the server was ever present without being intrusive in the least. The courses were well spaced but never dragged and the food was served at the perfect temperature for each dish. We will definitely be back. Without question.

Marcellino doesn't look like much from the outside, but once inside, it is a treasure. The service is friendly and attentive and the ambience is cozy. But most importantly, the food is exceptional, especially the fresh, innovative pasta specials. I don't know that there is better Italian food anywhere in Phoenix.

Small, romantic place in east side strip mall. We went on Valentine's day and the place was packed, making it a bit noisy. The food was excellent, but expect to pay for the high quality. Great place for the romantic special occasion when you want to go "all out". They were hosting "opera Night" when they ask local opera singers to perfrom periodically throughout the evening. This was quite nice and REALLY impressed the wife. They evidently do this once a month. The service was average, but again, they were very crowded. Expect there would have been more of a personal touch on a normal evening. We plan on going again and have recommended the place to several others.

The good news: best Osso Buco in town, wonderful homemade pastas, excellent sauces, outstanding service. The bad news: Opera nights, opera nights, opera nights, opera nights. You can't enjoy your food, you can't converse with your dining partner, and you can't enjoy the singing even if you wanted to because the acoustics are totally inappropriate. We have been dining at Marcellino for years, but we will definitely schedule all future visits to avoid opera nights. If it's a choice between opera night and dining somewhere else, somewhere else will win every time.

Various special pasta dishes were introduced by the server at the table before ordering. Food was presented nicely and was served hot.
