A word from Nino's Tuscany
Nino's Tuscany Steakhouse provides a cozy, welcoming haven and unfussy, well-executed cooking from its namesake central Italian region. Pastel-hued murals of the idyllic Tuscan countryside, brickwork, and softly-lit elongated sconces set a pleasant mood that's enlivened in the evenings by the sprightly piano playing of irrepressible nonagenarian, Irving Fields.

  • Over priced mediocre Italian food

My family had dined at Nino's before, however, you wouldn't have known it since everything we ordered This time, seemed to be Extremely Overpriced!! So much that my entire family felt as though we were being taken for "A Ride" down the "Over Priced A La Carte, Highway". No matter what we ordered, or how we ordered, it seemed as though the waiter was set on charging $55+ for an entrée '!! I even commented to the waiter on how outrageously priced their entrées seemed to be! Unfortunately, the waiter was not very sympathetic nor helpful and only attempted to justify this by stating that the "fish was fresh"?! This unfortunate experience has taught me Never to go back to Nino's!!!

My husband and I had a rare opportunity to go out without the kids. This place was great. The ceasar salad was one of the best I ever had and the dressing is made fresh table side. We shared a clam linguini and it was so delicious, I dreamed about it. This was a great evening.

The food was relatively mediocre, menu rather pedestrian for foodies, nothing that interesting. We had fish which was very fresh and that was appreciated. Had a panna cotta for dessert. It was in the refrigerator just long enough to pick up the frig smells and taste. Value for the price wasn't there. We should have walked across the street to Seasonal and had a great meal.

The food is very good. The steaks are prepared to perfection. Seriously perfect and sizzling. The gentlan who plays piano is precious and the service is warm. What else would you want. It's kind of old world and pricy. Especially the specials! 52.00 for Dover sole with no sides. That's being said, I keep returning

This restaurant is in a time-warp. The kitchen needs a complete overhaul. Our fried calamari appetizer was soggy, tasteless and the calamari itself did not taste fresh. The tomatoes in the tomato mozzarella salad were pink, icy cold and tasteless as was the pre-packaged tasting mozzarella. Although the pasta dish had a good flavor and the pasta was not over-cooked, the sauce itself was too heavy. The cheese cake was flavorless.

When the restaurant called me to confirm I asked if they would have their regular menu available even though it was Valentine's day. I was told that a special menu would be available as well as the regular menu. It was not.y husband did not like anything on the special menu and had to get two appetizers from the special menu at ala carte prices. The food was good, but it was disappointing. It was not worth the trip accross town.

Food was the Best Part for us. Was Seated at the first table, Every time the door opened we were blasted with Cold air. Asked for a change of table and the host did not really want to move us....at that point the place was empty. Moved us to the last table in the back right by the kitchen, the Computer where they enter the food and a table with small yelling children. again, Food was really good but there are plenty of places for good food...Being treated right is what makes you come back....i wont be !!!

He is an excellent waiter and host for this restaurant. We were fortunate to have him as our server.

We were greeted warmly and the service was friendly and nice. Used a groupon for the meal. I thought the food was decent but not wonderful. Shrimp on white bean appetizer was very tasty but the shrimp were a little tough. I ordered the steak and it was very tough (medium rare). My friend had the seabass and it looked decent but very simple. We noticed that other tables had delicious looking bread but ours was very ordinary...we wondered if those people were not using groupons?? Desserts were pretty good. Anyway, I can't think of any reason to return as there are so many other restaurants in midtown. Sorry.

The food was good, nothing special, definitely overpriced. The temperature of the restaurant was uncomfortably warm, the service was decent, and overall I likely will not be back. We didn't know who our table's waiter was for at least 10-15 minutes and when he finally did arrive he did not bring our table menus, nor bread/olive oil. Needless to say, I've experienced much better food and service at other less expensive establishments.

Our first dinner at Nino's Tuscany was a very good experience. Service was friendly, expeditious but not rushed and accommodating. Combination of two appetizers (the beet and goat cheese salad and an "appetizer" size portion of the rigatoni alla vodka) was tasty and filling--full-size pasta portions must be pretty generous. We especially enjoyed the relatively quiet dining room, where it was easy to have a conversation--a real surprise, considering the proximity to Carnegie Hall, the comparatively moderate prices, and the quality of the food. This is now our restaurant of choice for pre-concert dinners.

Always love the food and service at Nino's but have never been crazy about the wine list. They have very few bottles under $50 and they haven't changed the list in years. We ordered KJ chard and were told they were out and the server said, "I would recommned the Silver Creek but we are out of that also." We asked for somethig comparable but were given a South African Chard that was not as good as KJ. Then every time someone poured, whether the server or bar tender, they spilled some. Get your wine service together Nino's!
