We came for lunch, my blind Mom was in a wheel chair, but the restaurant is upstairs with no elevator. The business park that the restaurant is in is accessible for the downstairs wine tasting room. We had bid bachorlette patty come in midway through our meal. They were very loud. Our servers casual attire induced a boles that was loose fitting so ever time she served my mom her sleeves were brushing on my mom, very distracting. Not ADA compliant for dinging in the restaurant. They did serve up downstairs, but we are very dissapinted that were we not assisted better, we won't be going back, not because of the food but because of the lack of accommodation for Wheelchair acces.

We had not been to the WineSellar and Brasserie for approximately 15 years and multiple chefs ago. It was wonderful. Excellent food, prices on the regular menu were fair and the $25 25th Anniversary menu was a bargain. Highly recommended.

We eat here every Saturday we have available. The lunch specials are always tasty and the gazpacho is the best I have ever had. The Saturday wine tastings are both fun and educational. Otonio is a great and knowledgeable waiter and we always enjoy him.

Excellent food, drinks, and service at this intimate little restaurant situated above their wine shop. All the food we had was great! The calamari, seafood risotto, and vegetarian preference were outstanding. They currently are celebrating their 25th anniversary with a special $25 dinner menu and a selection of $25 bottles of wine.

This restaurant is in such a Peculiarocation, but it's been around for quite a while and obviously has a devoted following. I was there for the first time and now can understand why it is such a destination: the food was excellent, the service was very attentive, their wine list was well priced and nicely diverse. All in all it was a delightful evening and we certainly plan to return.

My wife and I dined here this past Saturday night, it was a very leisurely dining experience. The Polenta cake appetizer was wonderful, we shared the Lamb salad which was excellent, she had the Scallops which were prepared perfectly and I had the Vension Rack which was delightful with a huckleberry sauce on it. All in all a wonderful dining experience.

It is always a treat to dine at the WineSellar & Brasserie. You are made to feel special from the moment you arrive. They've added a number of new, fast & affordable lunch items but still have some of the old favorites on the menu. It's great to see them still thriving after 25 years while mixing things up to stay fresh.

The soups were amazing. Probably the best tomato soup I have ever had, and the gazpacho was even better. My lamb burger wasn't too exciting, but was good. My dad's veggie sandwich looked fantastic, though since he wouldnt share I can't be certain. Pricey, but worth it for a special occassion sort of lunch (or if someone else is paying). I'll have to go back for dinner sometime, too.

Despite the nondescript location, which has a nice perk of easy parking once you find the place, we thought this was a really good place for dinner. The French cuisine was outstanding, and as the name suggests has a great wine selection. We had the scallops and the tuna, both of which were tasty. The service was attentive and very good. I would definitely come here again for special occasions.

This restaurant never disappoints. The food is always perfectly prepared, the service is excellent, and the wine list offers a LOT of choice. You also have the option of going to the wine shop downstairs and choosing a wine; the corkage fee is only $10. We both had duck on our most recent visit; mine was duck breast in orange sauce, which is succulent and tender and not overpowered by the sauce. A little more vegetable on the plate would be appreciated, though. My husband was equally delighted with his duck confit, served over lentils in a port wine reduction. We agreed these are the best lentils imaginable. The dessert list isn't expansive or imaginative, but very good (but skip the grainy apple sorbet).

They just expanded lunch to be Tue thru Sat and added some lower priced items that are great. The chicken pesto sandwich at $9.50 is great and a great value and the warm prosciutto/brie sandwich ($11) is different and very tasty. You can still get their classic lunch entrées but there are also various salads with or without salmon, beef, or duck confit added. It's great to have a really good table service restaurant choice in the Sorrento Mesa area and it's worth traveling a bit to get the kind of quality lunch and service that the WineSellar is offering. Needless to say if you want a glass of wine with your lunch, there are lots of good choices. I've been there twice now for lunch and will be returning soon.

Had not been to the Brasserie in years, the food and wine was every bit as good as we remembered it. Every course was delicious and well prepared. We shared an appetizer of sautéed polenta with mushrooms and goat cheese, and we ate every crumb, the combination was lo lovely. I started with asparagus soup which was fresh, bright green and delicious, with the scallops for my entree. They were large succulent and perfectly cooked. Husband started with the beet salad, good but nothing special and had the short ribs for his entree. They were very good, served on a bed of carrot puree with additional sautéed veggies. The ribs were meaty and fork tender. The only negative is that the dining room decor is stuck in the 80's, needs an update asap!

I can't say we are regulars at the Brasserie, but it is certainly on our A list of prime restaurants. Every time we come here I wished we lived closer, but the commute from Coronado is always worth it. We selected our dinner from the Prix Fix Father's Day Menu. The waiter did an excellent job explaining the dishes and preparations and talked me into having the Veal Bone Marrow appetizer. It was extraordinary and something you just don't find on even the best restaurant's special wine dinners. We selected a nice Chardonnay from an extensive wine list that was very balanced and complemented the meal well. Hint, there are four tables by the window, two of which are great for people watching.

I had scheduled my reservation for the wrong day, it was graciously honored regardless, so we actually ate there about two weeks ago at lunch. However, the waiter struggle with the wines. He brought the wrong wine to the table twice. We ordered a rose, first he brought a chardonnay and then the wrong rose. We kept that one. My food (lamb salad). was quite lovely. My friend's burger was dry. The bread served before the meal and on the bun lacked tasted, and a soft, weak consistency, and was surprisingly bad. His fries were a cold, soggy mess. Incredibly disappointing and I expected so much better.

The location in the middle of what appears to be a light industrial park put us off for years, even though we had heard good things about the food. The downstairs combines a wine shop and a small, somewhat noisy bar, while the upstairs is a quiet, elegant restaurant. The bar service is a little slow, but the restaurant service is attentive and efficient. The food is outstanding. Every dish we tried was delicious and a little surprising. We will definately make this a primary special occasion spot.

This was my second visit and I would return. It's not easy to find. It's in a commercial center in the back without much signage. The food and wine list was very good. I've been to this restaurant twice in the last 4 months. Each time, the food was good but not up to the level commensurate with the exorbitant prices, nor the restaurant's lofty reputation. We had the sea scallops, confit of duck, and rack of lamb, along with various appetizers. Everything was well-prepared and mistake-free, but the flavors were somewhat boring and failed to excite or delight. A place this over-priced needs to do better than that. Their menu is getting a bit staid and tired. It was notable that on both of my visits -each on a Friday or Saturday evening - the place was nearly empty! Not surprising, I guess, given the price-quality mismatch. The service and extensive, award-winning wine list, however, remain excellent.

In these fast paced and fast food days, it is nice to have quiet place to be able to have lunch for both business and pleasure. As an added bonus the Wine List is excellent, and be sure and add in some time on your way out to take a look at the wines downstairs.

We have enjoyed great lunches here over the last two years so we invited friends to join us for dinner. We were there on a busy Saturday night which may explain the soup that was delicious but only lukewarm. Two of us had the fish--small portions but nicely presented and was ok--the best choice. One of us ordered the rack of lamb---such a tiny serving that it was difficult to cut away from the bone to eat since it was so small. One of us ordered the flat iron steak which was very small and tough--served over chestnuts that were mealy tasting. Dinner was expensive and unimpressive. May return for lunch sometime but definitely not for dinner.

Hopefully it was just understaffing on a holiday, but I had a disappointing Valentines dinner. I had not been there for quite a while, decided to take my wife for V-day. We saw our waiter once all night, had to keep asking the bus boys for service. We had a question about the dessert menu, no one ever returned to answer. The overall meal was average, my steak was rather tough and served lukewarm. For a restaurant of their reputation I expected much more :(

We've eaten at this restaurant many times and have usually enjoyed outstanding offerings but unfortunately, our latest experience here was quite disappointing. The green salad and beet salad were ok, but boring. I longed for more than a few specks of goat cheese in my beet salad and the mandarine orange slices, while adding a nice citrus punch, detracted from the experience with their thick, chewy membranes. The steak was again, ok, but one expects more. The sea bass was very fishy tasting and it seems the chef attempted to cover for this with a high dose of salt. The vegetable served with the sea bass resembled an artichoke but was tough and bitter. The fresh bread was a welcome addition since I felt there wasn't much else to eat.

I was very pleased with my dish, my service received, and my overall experience at this restaurant. Went for my first time the day before Christmas and will soon return. The restaurant is on the second floor, it has dimmed lighting to enhance the mood and well experienced waiters. It is also not directly on a main street, which I love, if you are looking for it you will find it within the industrial buildings.

Overall we enjoyed our time and the food was good. However, I would rate our server as fair with a very low customer service attitude. We were in the restaurant from 11:30am to 2:45pm as it was our yearly Christmas lunch. During this time, he stopped by once, he did not offer to refill drinks or coffee and was very disinterested. When you spend $127.00 on lunch, I do expect more from the wait staff. And we had to flag him down to get the bill. I have always experienced good customer service in your restaurant but this time was quite poor. Kathleen Grisez
