This was our first trip to Dante and we would definitely return. The food was very good (not exceptional, but pretty close), and very reasonably priced. On a return trip, I would likely try the chef's tasting menu, which is a preselected five-course meal that comes with a wine pre-paired with each course. The menue is well-balanced and well thought out. The atmosphere is a sort of urban chic and fits in well with the Tremont atmosphere. Our server was exceptionally knowledgeable, both about the food and the wine. The wine list is extensive (not the longest, but plenty long enough). It is also well-organized, with the one of the most thoughtful presentations being a list of 50 bottles under $50. A true gem.

One of the greatest dining experiences in the Cleveland area. Every course was amazing, the service excellent, and all of the employees very personable. I've never said this before, but even the salad was incredible. If you have the opportunity to dine here, do not pass it up.

I recently took my husband to Dante for his birthday dinner. Everything from start to finish was fantastic. The food was amazing. Delicious, approachable, divine! The service was stellar. Best service I have had since Giovanni's or Parallax. We wanted to return the very next night! We have been to many restaurants in NEO - specifically in Tremont and downtown Cleveland, and Dante is now at the top of our favorite list. Spectacular! Can you tell we both loved it?

After hearing mixed, but mostly good, reviews of Dante, I have to say it exceeded my expectations. Our group of four did have to wait nearly half an hour for our reserved-for-7PM table before finally given one that was not the one intended, however our server (wish I could remember his name!) was A+ and everyone we encountered was friendly and courteous. The food was outstanding: diving scallops and some of the freshest, tastiest pasta I've ever eaten. With this latest gem Tremont, it's certainly worth a visit.

This was our second visit to Dante. The first was on a rather quiet Tuesday night, the latest on a bustling Saturday night. On both occasions the food was outstanding. Service and quality did not suffer even on a busy Saturday night. Most items are available in a tasting, appetizer or entree size. This makes it fun to try a number of different items on the menu, especially with four people passing plates around. He and his staff seem to be very creative with the different food preparations that are available. Dante's is a great addition to the local dining scene.

Fantastic reuse of historic property. We ate at a table attached to the bar that was more of an art piece. The top surface was glass and inside the glass was a display of metal instruments, tools, gears, and a circular flourescant tube. It was surreal. Dante refurbished an old First Merit Bank. Almost has the feel of what Bruce Wayne would create in Gotham City. And, you can actually eat at a table in the Bank Vault, complete with a massive, circular door. Would recommend it to everyone! Thanks Dante for helping to create yet another notable restaurant in Cleveland's thriving restaurant scene.

DANTE served up a flawless Valentine's Day Dinner. We enjoyed the 7 winter vegetable salad, calamari, tasting of carbonara and mushroom risotto, and duck. Everything was perfectly prepared and presented. Mild delay between courses was met with an unsolicited free dessert from the maitre d' and they even allowed us to take the dessert to go! Top-notch service. The prices are extremely reasonable for such fine dining. A bottle of wine, two additional glasses of wine, two draft Belgium beers, two full portion salads, calamari appetizer, two tasting plates and two top-tier entrees=$140. Unbelievable value.

Our overall experience was very good. Service was prompt and professional. Courses were served in a timely manner . Most notable dishes-the calamari and rock shrimp app. Was prepared perfectly. My husband had one of the polenta offerings as an app. We thought we were in heaven with the creaminess and richness of the dish. For desert, I chose the carmelized grill pear with cardamom ice cream. The ice cream was extraordinary. Words cannot describe all of the flavors perfectly blended together-not too heavy or overpowering. I wanted to take a pint home, but didn't ask. Now I regret it. I was slightly dissapointed, as was my husband with the main course (12 oz strip and the braised short ribs), both were nothing special about the taste

My first time at DANTE. Three of us were seated just near the bar and close by the hostess station- not ideal, but it became more comfortable as things livened up. Our waitress was very pleasant and accommodating and sought the advice of the manager about the best matching of wine with the brinzano. The cocktails were outstanding and the wine, by the glass, perfect as well. My wife was somewhat disappointed as the scallops weren't seared (altho admittedly the menu did state they were roasted); I always order chicken on my first visit to a high end restaurant as it often foretells how good the rest of the menu will be. Mine was tender and very flavorful albeit a small portion. The arborio risotto was outstanding. Almost a 5 star experience.

Had a very nice dinner. Dante's food is great, very creative, and you can taste his mastery of flavors and cuisine. Menu is not large, but there is enough to choose from and the option of differnt size portions opens up the possibilities. Polenta with rabbit was wonderful as was the risotto with Porcini. Service attentive and friendly. Did not try out the cocktails but if you enjoy wine, there are many selections by the glass at varying price points. Cannot wait to go back and bring my family. Best Wishes Dante.

The moment you walk in the door you are greeted warmly as if they were genuinely happy you stopped in. Our coats were taken and we were lead to our table. Our server was knowledgeable and energetic. The option of tastings, apps, or full size gave or table of 4 the opportunity to try many dishes. The cheese polents was divine, smooth and creamy. The signature oysters were a party - dressed up and poised prettily on a plate with an ice chunk and "seaweed". Ducke breast with cruncy prosciutto, bronzini, salmon, steak were all at our table and I do think we were all moaning a little too much!!! The serving portions are perfect which means room for dessert. Perfect1

Situated in the turn around Tremont District of Cleveland, Dante offers a great place to enjoy a gourmet dinner.

I took my wife to Dante's for dinner Saturday evening. We were excited to visit this new hot spot for the first time. Almost everything about the evening was outstanding. The ambiance was awesome. The location is an old bank, complete with a table in the vault. It was very high energy and was absolutely packed with bar patrons and diners. The food was amazing. Something unique is the ability to get anything on the menu in three different serving sizes: a taste, an appetizer, or a main course. The wine menu is also very substantial with a variety of wines by the glass, half-bottle, or full bottle. The service, while very friendly, was extremely slow--something that I hope improves over time. Overall: we highly recommend Dante!

We loved the idea of the tasting portions, which allow one to venture out and try some new things. The service was friendly and attentive, without hovering. The manager showed us his wine room, which has some very special selections. We understand there are plans for an indoor "patio" to be added shortly, whith outdoor dining thereafter. We will be back to sample more of their wonderful menu. I highly recommend it.

I was unhappy with your wine list. I am a California chardonnay drinker, I did not particularly care for either of the two served by the glass. My friend and I decided on the Iron Horse which was moderately priced @ $45. We waited at least 15 minutes and then were told it was "unoaked". The only alternative bottles were priced @ $75 and up. In my opinion you should add to your selection wines in the moderate price range from $45 to $65.

GREAT ambiance! Food was good! Our waitress was busy when we got there but other staff stepped in to help get us started. We had to asked about the specials but I think that is probably something that a new waitress may not be used to giving out right away. Great bang for your buck too. Considering how busy they were, we actually got our food rather quickly. I wish they had more choices for salads - that would be my only negative.
