  • The food was disappointing.

The food was disappointing. The restaurant has at least 8 specials that are read to you once. When we asked to have the list repeated the waiter was not happy and asked which specials we wanted to hear. The specials are ridiculously priced. The porcini ravioli was $50.00. We asked our waiter to pick a bottle of wine to complement our entrees and told him we would like to spend about $120. He selected at wine which we enjoyed only to find when we received the bill that it was $155. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

  • We had eaten at Il Mulino
    OpenTable Diner Since 2007
    Dined on 5/24/2008
We had eaten at Il Mulino last time we were in Vegas in February; my uncle took me, my sister, and our husbands for dinner; it was so memorable that when my sister and I were making plans to once again meet our uncle in Vegas the first thing we both said was "We'll have to go back to Il Mulino". It is elegant and comfortable at the same time; the service is beyond anything I have ever experienced -- they seemed to know what you wanted or needed before you even realized it yourself. Memorable as well and a special standout is the Reggiano cheese, zucchini, soppressata slices, bruschetta (I can't even remember them all) that the waiters serve you as soon as you are seated. All in all a fabulous dining experience.

  • The mark-ups on the wine list
    OpenTable Diner Since 2006VIP
    Dined on 5/22/2008
The mark-ups on the wine list were insulting to one's intelligence. Even though I was on an unlimited expense account, I got the impression that Il Mulino was more intereste3d in extracting the maximum possible out of the customer rather than provide great wine at a reasonable mark-up.

The food was fabulous, just as in NY. They bring so much food to you when you sit down that it's hard to imagine eating both an appetizer and an entree (and forget about dessert!). The service is a bit over the top - so many people taking care of you that it's almost overbearing. And I've never seen a line for a "Captain's Tip" at a restaurant. But for a fantastic italian meal, it can't be beat!

The food was exceptional... and so much of it! From the moment you sat down you were inundated with antipasti and bread and various other italian delicacies-- all served at a rapid pace. No other appetizers were required, even though I would have ordered them if it weren't for the excess gratis items upon arrival. The service is ultra-attentive, almost to the point of being too attentive, but not quite. It was expensive, with very few bottles of wine under $100. I would go here again for a splurge dinner, remembering not to eat within the six to eight hours beforehand.

The restaurant is lovely and the food was presented beautifully. It comes highly recommended so our expecations were high. We were disappointed with the balsamic dressing on the salad and the risotto which accompanied the shrimp entree, because it was undercooked and lacked flavor. The service was good but not great. They do alot of things right but with prices as high as they are, we were disappointed and unsure as to whether we'll return.

It is easy to get swept up in the Italian atmosphere in Il Mulino and start believing you are in Italy. The wait staff and the food and ambiance all provide an AMAZING experience. What is amazing is, in the hustle and bustle of Las Vegas, this restaraunt transports your conciousness far away from the gambling tables of Caesers. Very well done.

My husband claims that the chicken parmigiana is the best he's ever had. Our waiter was very attentive, and the entire evening was wonderful. I just wish we weren't always so full! One of these times we may even get to order dessert!

    OpenTable Diner Since 2006

The food, service and wine all live up to the reputation. They start you out with these delicious little appetizes (not on the menu) -- then you order. Wine knowledge of the wait staff was impressive. The only gripe is that when the bill comes they want you to individually tip each of the "waiters / captains" that served you throughout the meals (ever hear of tip dividing you guys??). Overall it lives up to the fantastic reputation (and I'm not easily impressed)!

Service was good except for main course which was very slow (I think maybe the order got misplaced). The wine list is ridiculously overpriced at this restaurant! $80 for Santa Margarita Pinot Grigio ($20 more than the New York restaurant which was also overpriced). I got this wine for $32 at a restaurant in Atlanta! $60 for a veal chop is also a little much. This is a pretty good restaurant but not a good value.

Service was the standout - awesome waiter who helped us make our tight-schedule show, yet didn't make us feel rushed in the least. Pastas are exquisite, seafood above average, but everything is a bit too pricey, thus making it less of a value. Nice ambiance, but nothing unforgettable.

We have been to the New York Il Mulino and loved it. We wondered if they could match it in Vegas. Not only did they exceed our expectations, but this one has a view. :) When you arrive they give you several tastings of mini appetizers. They are all awesome. We were hapily full before dinner. Great wine list and the lemon cello was terrific. Highly, highly recommend Il Mulino
