A word from The Plant - Cafe Organic
Michelin recommended. A California based Organic restaurant company, we offer all healthy dishes, fresh juices, salads, sandwiches, soups, entrees & desserts as well as Sustainable seafood and 100% organic poultry.

Extensive lunch and brunch menu with a distinct full dinner menu seven days a week.

We follow a farm-to-table philosophy relying on quality local produce. In many cases, food has been grown only a day or two before it is served to our guests. If it is not available locally, we search the globe in our quest for the best organic, natural or artisan quality ingredients as reflected in our coffees, teas, and spirits.

We host a full bar with organic cocktails and local, sustainable wines. We pride ourselves in offering food for all including sustainable seafood, local organic poultry, specialty pizza and delicious vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free choices.

It would be nice to have some interesting breakfast type items on the brunch menu. All the items were pretty traditional/generic items available at any hotel breakfast menu in the city. Although the beet salad and carmelized onion pizza were good, I would have preferred a unique breakfast item.

They took good care of us and were attentive. The location and the building itself is wonderful, great looking and great atmosphere. The food is good, everything was very fresh, I liked the basket of baked goods very much and hte coffee was super tasty. It was a great place to have brunch and spend a couple of hours with extended family. If I have to say one thing that balances out all this great feedback it's that the food is solid but not exciting in any way.... some things were even a bit dull. I would still go back. It's better than Market Bar by far.

Food was good AND good for you! I had fresh squeezed OJ and Plant Burger. Even though the "burger" was red and looked a little weird, the flavor was great. The bread and veggies were hearty and a great complement. The view was fabulous. The place felt fresh and clean. Would definitely come back.

First experience was for Thanksgiving dinner. One of my best dining experiences. The service was excellent. The staff was very attentive and accommodating. I chose the vegetarian menu, while my dinner partner chose the traditional turkey Thanksgiving menu. My dinner partner thought the meal was so good that she asked for a second serving. The vegetarian meal was incredibly tasty. Last year I went to well known vegetarian restaurant in the area and the Plant's menu was superior. The chef took great care in combining the right tastes to make the meal such an enjoyable experience. The wine parings with each course was excellent. The Plant is my new favorite restaurant. And check out the organic mixed drinks--fabulous.

The food was amazing - we are both vegetarian and were happy there was someplace serving a veggie Thanksgiving. Everything was excellent - especially the sour cherry tart for desert and the stuffing. The tables are a little close together so it felt like we were part of the next table's conversation - and one table next to us had kids - one kid got tired and tried to lay down on the bench seat - managing to kick me. Luckily - they were at the end of their meal - so I didn't have to put up with it for long. I had wine at the bar and then wine pairings with the meal - these were some of the best wines I have had at a restaurant. We will definitely be back!

Fantastic experience! We had a couple of vegetarians in the group, who were very happy with the choices, and a couple of meat eaters who were also perfectly happy, and one gluten-free, non-dairy eater who was ecstatic over her choices too. She couldn't get over the array of dessert choices she had - including cheesecake and chocolate pot de creme! Everything was perfectly prepared and she could even get almond milk for her coffee. Amazing. The bar offers fun and different cocktails and a terrific list of rums, vodkas, etc. Altogether a find. We were tempted to return the next night.

Food is not only health but very delicious. The cooking methods are very environmentally conscious. It's a great place to go for light lunch with a date, group of friends, or business lunch. It's nice but nice or different enough for a special occassion, in my opinion. The waitstaff is always pleasant. The juices are fantastic and healthy. You can not go wrong here. The veggie burger (the Plant Burger) was a bit too moist, thick, and crumbly to be eaten politely. The sourdough bread stood up to the soggy patty, but was itself so chewy that neither cutting nor biting was easy to do. I ended up with quite an ugly mess on my plate and hands! I suggest that the Plant Burger is not a good choice when you are (1 trying to impress someone, or (2 attempting to carry on polite dining conversation. Despite this, the server was very attentive and helpful and the noise level inside for lunch was lower than anticipated.

Have been wanting to go here for a while and it did not disappoint! Friendly waitstaff, able to make good recommendations on the wine and food menu. Loved sitting in the outdoor area by the water, but still sheltered from the wind. Food was flavorful, fresh, local and almost 100% organic. What's not to like about that? Shared a beet salad, a pasta and a green curry chicken dish with my friend, all were tasty. Would come back for more as there were other things on the menu I'd like to try.

ICE cold spring rolls!Obviously made earlier in the day, pulled out of the fridge & served.Classy! The veggie burger was good, but again, spoiled by ice cold tomatoes on (tomatoes don't go in the fridge either!) The 3 spears of roasted potatoes on the side were room temp& not completely cooked. The table next to us warned us that the food was awful, but we stayed...deciding we'd be our own judges.Afterall the place is beautiful & the servers had bee sweet& accommodating when we asked to be moved to a table not in front of an open door on an 50 degree night. Some service (not from our two waitresses) was odd.Why have someone come around and fill water glasses when they gave us a large glass bottle of water for the table? Concept A+ Delivery D-
