    Our private downstairs dining room offers a striking convergence of architecture, light and design that echoes the concept of the main dining room and can accommodate up to 50 seated guests. Our private event staff will help you with table configurations, menu development, A/V options and any other special requests. We work hard to ensure complete privacy for corporate meetings and social events.

    For a smaller space closer to the action, try our spectacular chef’s table adjoining our open kitchen. This semi-private room features a large communal table for eight with an insider's view into Chef Taylor's bustling kitchen.

Getting there

  • Cross Street: Montgomery
  • Public Transit: We are two blocks north of the Montgomery Street station - look for the Sutter/Sansome exit and walk north on Sansome two blocks. Turn left on Pine Street; we are on the north side of the street. MUNI 38, 8x, 30 & 45 bus lines all pass by or are within a block of us. The historic San Francisco cable car California line is also one block away.

  • Parking Details: After 7:00, street parking around the restaurant is ample. St. Mary's Garage is the closest 24 hour lot, and is just a block and a half from our door.

    Credo was a good place for lunch - in fact my friend will now use it for his business lunches since it's up the block from his office. Loved the salads we had & the tuna carcappacio. We also split a bottle of wine & tiramisu. It was very noisy at 1 and finally quieted down somewhat around 2. Service was very good & the price was $66 each including our wine tax & tip (the wine was half of the bill). We'll definitely come back to Credo to check out the rest of the menu (dinner included) but we'll bring our own wine (need to drink down anyway).

    The food was good. The place was crowded. Thank goodness I made reservations for lunch the day before. The place was a bit loud to have a business lunch meeting. I suggest having bigger glass sizes for water. It runs out fast and waiters have to refill often.

    My husband and I had dinner at Credo on our last night in San Francisco. We wish we had discovered it earlier because we would have returned for more of their delicious food! Everything tasted amazing... the warm, yummy bread, the mini meatball appetizer, the pasta with sweet sausage & broccoli, the lobster & crab ravioli, and the creme brulee for dessert... it was all INCREDIBLE! The numerous "credos" on the walls from famous people were great for stimulating conversation. It was an overall fantastic evening, and we look forward to coming back in the future!

    This is such a vibrant restaurant and I feel has awesome potential. This was my 3rd time eating here since the opening in January. I feel in time this restaurant will find the right mix of menu items that will become a hit every single time with customers. It's still young and I will definitely eat here again.

    The food was very good and we got a table immediately. The drawback was the noise and way too open concept of the dining area. I think management should consider putting in booths to cozy the place up a little. Service was great and the food came out fast and was very tasty. The tiramisu was great!

    Loved all the food we ordered. Although I was not too hungry, I scarfed down them - it was so tasty! I went there by recommendation of my friend. He was right! The wall decoration is so cool to read. You have to be there to know what I mean.

    I never go out to eat Italian food, ever. I think that had to do with my numerous disappointments. My friends and I were thoroughly impressed. The ambiance was wonderful, our waiter was friendly and quite knowledgable and seemed proud to be working there. I highly recommend the Parpadelle with mushroom and truffle oil. . . it was delicious, and as an appetizer the Fritto Misto. We all enjoyed our time there and we also recommended it to the people walking in the door as it was obviously their first time also.

    Was surprised to find such a nice place in the financial district, where usually it's either cafeteria/soup type places, or expense account joints. They obviously know people are busy and lunch arrived very quickly. Fresh ingredients, excellent service, and overall a place I would return to. Curious to know what they tone is like at night.The only downside is that the high cielings didn't do anything to bring the noise level down. This is an ongoing problem in most places in SF.

    Extremely noisy (when we went outside it was actually quieter) and food was good. Tables were very close to one another -- guy behind me kept hitting my chair and I'm not very big and had my chair tucked in. Guy across from us kept crossing his legs and knocking my colleague each time -- not his fault -- just not a lot of room. Ambiance was very funky and fun; good menu, but extremely loud -- basically had to shout to each other. I expect that at a bar or late night dinner, but not over lunch......Would probably go back and ask for front table.

    One week into the restaurant, and the food so far is pretty mediocre. Some items they need to do some small fine tuning (pizza crust is good, but toppings are somewhat one-dimensional), and other items they need a complete rework - the panzanella (bread salad) lacked everything -- flavor, texture, etc. The pastas we tried were decent, but again somewhat one-dimensional and not anything to write home about. There are way too many awesome italian places around for this to compete well. Service was very friendly & space is pretty cool.

    been here twice already. the food is really really good, esp given the price points. all pasta dishes excellent, and their pasta fagiole soup is sumblime - flavorful and super hearty. interesting decor - keeps you entertained reading all the quotes. service was pretty good given that it just opened and there are usually stumbles and missteps with a recent opening. let's see how long/well they keep it up.

    Excellent northern Italian cuisine, very delicious pasta and meat dishes as well as antipasti. I had the fettucine alla bolognese: the fettucine is house-made and the bolognese sauce is exactly as one would find in northern Italy which means very little liquid and tomatoes, but with savoury ground meat. The Tuscan style steak was tender and very delicious. The restaurant's decor is contemporary - white walls, high ceilings, open kitchen. Beautiful tables by Dutch designer, Piet Hein Eek. The tables are large and they are not packed tightly together so you have a lot of privacy. Service is very good -- attentive but not intrusive. Excellent espresso, the way it is made in Italy

    I took a friend for her birthday 4 days after Credo opened. They went above and beyond to make it a special occassion for her. The entire staff was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. The food was phenomenal! The only kink was it took a while for them to process my credit card, and I thought next time I'll pay cash. However another friend dined there two days later and said even paying cash, they seemed to have trouble with the check. I assume that's a problem they'll quickly work out, as they've been open less than two weeks. Otherwise, I can't wait to go back!
