Great food, but not lots of it. The service was spotty and unrefined, as in unpolished and lacking in helpfulness, and slow. If you like rap music, this is the place for you, as it played, loudly, through the entire meal. Not for everyone.

I have been to Swish By Han several time and have never been disappointed. Be prepared for serious flavour - the chef's modern & ecclectic twist on Korean classics are thoughtfully prepared, great for sharing, and often pack a bit of heat. There are few places I have experienced pork belly this delicous.....the Pork Belly Ssam, Beef Swish, Pork Buns, Soo Yook 48 hours braised Beef are all not to be missed. Very cool atmosphere, music, and people.

Think of it as a visit to Koreantown, except elevated in style and presentation - likely to appease the patrons from the financial industry. For the elevation in presentation, prices are obviously higher, however execution has not suffered from the stuffiness/slight pretentiousness factor of running a restaurant that has to appeal to both bankers from the west and families/new couples to the east. The shabu was a little bland for my taste. The pork buns (a Korean twist to the classic Chinese Cha Siu Bao) were a great example of an elevated adaptation using Western and Korean ingredients. Do try them if you have a chance. Definitely a place I'll visit again for more menu exploration.

  • Really! From the flavours

Really! From the flavours to the service, everything works - except for maybe the chairs: they are really cold to sit on this time of year! Now that we've been twice, we've developed a strategy for ordering. There mains are great, but the appetizers are really special. Go for Korean tapas - order only appetizers, you will not be disappointed. Or if you have a larger group (4 or more), appetizers followed by 1 order of BBQ, for instance, will be plenty. Those who like to sample will get all the flavours and for larger appetites, you will have tons of food. Some of the stuff is wonderfully spicy, but not too hot to eat. Swish is officially our favourite Korean restaurant in the city.

The food here is excellent. Piping hot, generously sized and presented in a modern-traditional way. The service, although pleasant, is a tad hurried (given that there appear to be only two very busy servers in the space). You should be prepared to wait a half hour or more for many dishes — not a big deal at dinner, but not ideal for a weekday lunch. Order some quick-to-make appetizers or ask for your soup to come first.

the automatic 25% tip applied to the bill for group of 6 or more is too excessive, considering the service is just standard, nothing outstanding. only one waiter manned the whole place during the entire time that we were there. and since the 25% is applied to the after taxes total, it really is 28% which is utterly ridiculous! never heard of tips applied on to of HST. would never go back again, especially with a big group of people.

Went here for a relative's birthday. There were in excess of 10 of us. We went with the fixed price menu option offered. The presentation and service was almost as good as the food. It concerned me that we were the only diners on a Saturday night. Made for a fabulous time for us, but I hope this place stays open. Great location, great food and wonderful service. We enjoyed our evening at Swish. Food was tasty and the friendly server encouraged us to share so our first Korean meal included many different tastes. We loved the panko shrimp and the Berkshire pork stuffed dumpling appetizers. The short rib dinner included several types of kimchi and additional condiments to create your own lettuce-wrapped bundles. Fortunately there was steamed rice to offset the spiciness! A lovely, leisurely way to eat. We look forward to our next visit.

    OpenTable Diner Since 2010

Food was alright. Many people thought it was great, by my dish (beef wrapped in lettuce leafs) seemed a bit overcooked. Would have liked to know which dishes I'd be cooking myself and which came cooked as I would have liked my meat a bit rare. Biggest criticism: despite the reservation - the staff was unprepared for the volume of people. Orders got messed up and the whole lunch took way too long as a result. While the waitstaff was very apologetic about the whole thing, we would probably not rebook with a large group again.

I ordered the galbi BBQ set for $29. It includes 6 small side dishes (4 varieties of kimchee), a kimchee stew, and shortribs, mushrooms & onions for the grill. Everything was delicious and well presented. The restaurant itself has a nice ambiance, perfect for a date or small group gathering. I would definately like to return someday to try some of their other dishes.

Food was very good and tasty. Had to pay for kimchee, which is unheard of at a Korean restaurant. Otherwise, the "upscale" food was authentically Korean and nicely presented. Cozy spot for lunch and dinner. Wish they had a better drink selection and the last time I checked, Red Stripe beer wasn't Korean.

Overall an excellent restaurant. It was the second Koran restaurant I have been to, the other was Korean BBQ, and the two couldn't have been more different. The food had excellent taste, portions were small for the price you paid, especially the short ribs. The Swish-swish was fun as well as tasty, might want to consider more than one pot if there are more than 2 people.

Swish by Han was a great experience and I plan to go again soon. It was a different modern take on Korean food and a nice change of pace from the usual Korean restaurant experience which I normally enjoy. Unique presentation and great flavour to all the food there. Favorite dish of the night were the Ginger Soy glazed drummettes over a bed of purple yam frites. The outside of each drummette had a nice crunchy carmelization and the frites were almost thin and crispy enough to be like potatoe chips. Delicious. Wash it down with nice tall glass of yuzu tea.
