Over all I think it was a very nice place. I was a little disappointed that we weren't able to have a window seat to observe the view. My 3 course was fantastic from salad to dessert, although my boyfriend was more dissatisfied with the app choices and the sides the entree came with. The servers were very nice and friendly. The food came out on time every time, there was no waiting.

R2L is an amazing restaurant with a breathtaking view. Our entire dining experience was spectacular. First we were led to a table with a magnificent view of Philadelphia. Then we enjoyed each delicious course of food. The lobster mac & cheese was fully delightful. The short ribs melted in our mouths and the dessert was a work of art. I would highly recommend that you experience R2L's dining experience!

Major disappointment from the last time I ate at R2l. I used to rave about it and recommend people to go here all the time, but that changed. The service has really declined. I know restaurant week makes it busier, but that's no excuse for bad service. Our reservation wasn't ready when we got there. Finally get sat & it took 15 mins to see our server. Another 20 minutes until she took our order. I can't drink so the second we said no alcohol it seemed we became last priority table. The wait for our food was way too long. I ended up snacking on food in my purse while I waited. The food was amazing, but I left still a little hungry. We rarely saw our server during the meal and getting anything took way too long. Very disappointing service.

The restaurant is located on the 37th floor of a building, and the view is simply stunning. The bar offers a good selection and made our waiting time fly by (in the restaurant's defense, we arrived early). The food was amazing as well, properly prepared and well served. What struck me the most, though, was the friendliness of the waiter and the manager. There was a problem with our service (with our food being delivered to another table - which just accepted it), but the staff made it up for it. Overall, a great experience - we are definitely going back.

I feel like they use the "view" to trick you into the place. I made reservations well ahead for a window seat and was told when I got there that I should have made a reservation back in July to get one which is fine but when they called to confirm my reservation they should have let me know. Ironically, the people in front of me knew one of the hostesses and without asking got a window seat right away. We get stuck in a non-romantic table crowded next to other guests and lo and behold, the view was not so spectacular from here. Don't count on dining with a view unless you are a rich egotist or you make reservations months in advance. Food was really good, prices were a bit steep. service was super slow, waiter was friendly and helpful.

The restaurant perched atop an office tower offers spectacular night views. The open kitchen is inviting and the large open plan restaurant room very attractive. That however is where the superlatives end. The food is far from extraordinary, the shared appetizer of clams and mussels at $40+ is exceptionally expensive for very little food. The short ribs were overcooked and the sauce way too rich and salty. The lobster soup very creamy without any apparent...lobster. Also beware that they charge $25 corkage fee per bottle. Four of us without wine (spent almost $400. Not worth the view!

This is a beautiful spot. The food wasn't nearly as great as the view. For the price, I expected more inspired food. We went for restaurant week. I had the vegetarian entree which was essentially the same thing as my husband's duck dish, only without the duck and with a slightly different assortment of vegetables. Nothing was memorable. I found my mixed drink to be rather unpalatable, and I noticed that the people on either side of us didn't finish theirs (different drinks) either.

So this place has to have the most picturesque view of the city. It's on the 37th floor of an office building in Philly so the views are phenomenal. They have window seats and a pretty well stocked bar with Absinthe which is hard to find in PA. The food here wasn't anything to write home about. It wasn't bad, but for some reason the cook recommended that we eat the duck medium rare...which in my experience you don't eat birds with any sort of rareness. Also our appetizer came out cold, which was weird because it was a cooked meat...and the dessert was good, but you can tell they used Hershey kisses as the chocolates. All in all I would say go here for the ambiance and views and drinks.

Was warned beforehand that this place was overrated. Small food portions were unspectulator. Two members of our party did not eat their duck entree, something our server failed to notice. The staff rushed about with exaggerated ado yet the place was not crowded for a Friday night. The unsophisticated patrons were constantly running to the window by our table annoyingly snapping pictures, talking loudly, and obstructing our view. All the carpeting was drab and dirty, especially at the entrance. The women's bathroom had such an odor, we could not take more than a step inside as we left. Everyone in our party agreed they would never return. Definitely would never recommend this restaurant, but we saw Hawaiian shirts again on several patrons.

Most people go there for the view but if you live or work in a high-rise with similar views, R2L is nothing special with so-so environment and decoration. Plus you have to make a reservation probably two months in advance to secure a window table. Food is not bad, service is good, but given the price level, it's just average among so many fine restaurants in Philly. I'd prefer some place more special.

The drinks we had off their list were delicious. The lobster mac was not on the RW menu, however, we had to have it and we were not disappointed. I had the duck med rare. I want it again soon. That's how good I thought it was. Our waitress and the manager were very friendly. They were on top of everything and very helpful. Great service, great food and a great view.

The atmosphere and view from my table at R2L was incredible. I requested a window table but wasn't holding my breath. When we were seated I was pleasantly surprised. Our servers were great, too. However, most of the food was nothing to write home about. The pomegranate vodka cocktail I was served at the bar was way too sweet. The appetizer of short rib terrine was hard as a rock, difficult to cut and chew. Same with the rye croutons on that plate. My duck was cooked very well but didn't have much flavor. My boyfriends duo of short rib and prime rib was amazing, but the rest was underwhelming. The chocolate tart was tasty, but bot exceptional. Essentially, go for the breathtaking view, not the food.
