Ruth's Chris is a great steak house. This was my first time to this location, but they are always consistent. In a short: Great food, great wine list, great service!

The food and service were great. The ambience was delightful. It was my wife's birthday and when we arrived she was greeted at the check in desk with a cheery "Happy Birthday." We ordered a dessert which we shared and the restaurant deducted it from the tab for her birthday. It was a very pleasant experience. Alan Weinstock, M.D.

You can't beat the steaks at RC and the appetizers were great. The sauteed spinach was bitter -- it tasted like it was cooked with old or processed garlic, becauuse fresh garlic doesn't taste this bitter. Otherwise everything was superb.

I have enjoyed Ruth's Chris for several years. The food was tastless and the waiter was incompetent. His skill level would not even pass at McDonalds. I will not be going to this Ruth's Chris anytime soon.

I took a group of seven to dinner at Ruth's Chris in Bethesda to celebrate a surprise special event. Our two servers were spectacular (Jon and Marcelle(?)). Our steaks, sides, salads and wines were all memorable, which is important. Only complaint was the big round table, which made discussion difficult. Everyone was pleased, especially those who were Ruth's Chris first timers.

I have been to a number of Ruth's Chris Steak Houses in the past and I have never seen one that allowed customer with Jeans and Flip Flops. I guess that the standards have gone down a bit. The restaurant was so noisy, that I coudl barely hear my wife who was sitting across the table from me. The food was excellent, but we will never go back to this restaurant again.

The food was wonderful, the wine list great, and the service (which is sometimes a tad intrusive) was perfect--our server (Dinoosh?) was the best we have had in several years. I go on a regular basis and share appetizers and steak with my companion, and they are happy to accommodate that and even split the orders (who else would split a tomato/mozzarella salad?). And I love Worcestershire sauce with my steak. Many places give me a scolding about that, but Ruth's Chris happily provides it. We had a great time, due in large part to our server and of course, those wonderful steaks, fresh veggies, and potatoes au gratin for which I would happily request for my last meal. Yum. A solid 10.

Sarah our server was excellent, best service I've had in awhile. The host in front could be more friendly and inviting. She seemed to have a bit of a tone/attitude in her voice when asking my name for the reservation. It's not a good first impression when first entering the restaurant. Food was excellent, the halibut was very tender and flakey.

  • A steakhouse should conform
    mikeVIP
    Dined on 4/4/2008
A steakhouse should conform to a common set of expectations- it should have excellant, well prepared steak, nicely done side dishes, a good selection of wines, and make a fair cocktail. All this should be served by a competent, friendly, knowledgeable, but not too familiar or chatty server. Deserts are optional. Provide all this in comfortable, manly surroundings like what we think a country club should look like. Ruth Chris' meets all of these requirements well. Go there for the great steaks, not because you want to read about your chefs' thoughts on global warming or organic Tuscan asparagus in the Post the next day.

The Crabtini was amazing. All of the food was well seasoned especially the steak. I will try some other things when I go back soon. The sound level was fine but I don't feel comfortable talking when it is too quiet. People seemed to be having a very good time with each other.

We appeared for dinner on a very busy Saturday night for a 8:15 reservation( table for four). That we had booked via Open table ...for the following week. The Hostess immediately stated, with a smile, she would find a way to make it work. We were seated before we had finished our drink in the bar. From the moment we walked in to the moment we closed the restaurant, it was "service" above and beyond our expectations!

Went for a special occasion, but not dresssed to the nines - business casual with two kids dressed as kids. Treated us like the poor cousins from the country. Brought subpar food and gave subpar service. The initial bill was over $150 which was not a problem if the experience had been up to normal, but as it was, we called the manager, told them how disappointed we were that they didn't meet their own superior standards. They comp'd my wife's meal and they should have comp'd more, but I wasn't trying to be difficult. We haven't been back and won't. This trip was several years ago.
