We celebrated Valentine's Day at The Limestone Grille. My entree, Chicken Bella Boca, was good but my husband's South Asian Tenderloin Tips wasn't. The tenderloin tips were cooked nicely but the pasta sat in a pool of oily sauce. The restaurant was understaffed for the Valentine's Day crowd. Our server had the entire back room by himself. Eventuall a manager helped him. We did tell the manager about the problem with the sauce and he did state he would tell the chef.

Service and food was poor. Inconsistent amount of dressing on caesar salads (too much and too little). Had to ask for bread service; rolls were hard as a rock - they should never have been served. Lobster Mac n Cheese was good. Sesame crusted halibut tasted like they pulled from box and microwaved - based on uneven cooking and textures. Fish was flavorless and overcooked. Creamed spinach was all butter and cream - not good. Server unshaven, slobbishly dressed, and unattentive. Will never dine at Limestone again. What an embarrassment for local dining - where was the chef?

A friend and I met here for lunch; we were traveling from opposite directions and mostly wanted a quiet place to visit and catch up. This restaturant did not disappoint. The staff were attentive but not intrusive and did not seem to mind us sitting here for several hours. The fact that the food was very good was a great bonus.

The only thing colder than the food was the waitstaff! The special (4 oz. of lobster meat that tasted like imitation crab meat and 4 oz. of fillet Mignon) accompanied by mashed potatoes (which tasted like instant) were COLD! The salad and bread service were the only tasty part of the meal. Dessert was OK but not as good as they claim they are. Despite giving the waitress our gift certificate from the hotel, she charged our credit card for the cost of the entire meal rather than the remaining balance after the gift cert. For a free meal, it was ok, but I would never have paid $100 out of my own pocket for that food...

Even though the reservations stated that this was a special birthday lunch, the hostess made no mention of that fact. In fact, she didn't ask if we had a reservation at all. When I mentioned it, she said she would cross it off when she got back to the hostess station. Service was poor. The staff seemed unsure who was responsible for our table! When food arrived, the lobster bisque was very good, although two pumpkin raviolis floating on top were difficult to cut and eat with a soup spoon. The sandwiches were good albeit salty, and the fries, which apparently are standard sides, were VERY greasy. It would have been nice if we were given other options for sides. All in all, I would say that the food is not worthy of the prices charged

The food was tasteless and way oversalted--the house salad was excellent though, with the sun-dried tomato dressing. My husband ordered a chicken pasta dish and it arrived with only a few small slices of chicken in it! The service was perhaps the worst I have ever experienced--our waiter had no idea what beers were available, did not come over once to ask us about our meal or ask if we would like more drinks! The restaurant was not crowded and several other waiters were working as well, so there was no excuse. We will not be returning to Limestone Grille.

Overall OK. Tomatoes used in Tomato/Mozzarella salad were tasteless - unforgiveable in Mid-August. Halibut entree was overcooked. Scallop /lobster dish was quite good. Restaurant comped glasses of wine because of halibut - a nice gesture. When in area again, will try their steaks, since amount of space devoted to them on the menu indicates they might be a strong point.

We wanted to have a special Father's Day breakfast and decided to go to the Limestone Grill. Not liking big brunches, we were delighted that they provided a nice breakfast menu with creative menu items. The service was excellent. I would recommend this as a good place for those wanting a good breakfast with unusual dishes served in a pleasant atmosphere. Based on our breakfast, we will try the limestone grill for dinner soon.

Nice restaurant; comfortable and elegant. Food was delicious, particularly the Asiago bread and whippd garlic butter. Also noteworthy was the Gouda mac and cheese. Service for our toddler was prompt and accomodating. His chicken tenders were exceptionally well done; lightly battered and juicy! The knick on an otherwise delightful experience was that service was slow, very slow. Start to finish we sat for over two and a half hours! Oh and the place is a bit pricey, about $160 for four and a toddler with dessert and no drinks. Steaks were very good but not that good ;-). All in all I recommend it for a nice special occassion meal. Cheers!

The food was excellent. The wine list was very nice. What spoiled our experience was an unfriendly waitress. Our family went to dinner at the Limestone Grille to celebrate our son's graduation from college. We went to the Craftsman for a large party in the past and had very good food and service so we thought we would give the Limestone grill a try. What could have been a positive memory for my son turned out being negative because of the waitress' attitude.

Entering the dimmed restaurant, we were greeted by a warm, gracious hostess. Noting our reservations, she immeditately sat us by the windows which we had requested. The table was decorated appropriately with linen napkins, attractive china, and sparkling silverware. The waitress appeared shortly and provided excellent service. The water glasses were immediately filled and the waitress removed the wine goblets. After the waitress announced the days' specials, we were given ample time to look over the menu before ordering. We were pleased with the fresh fruit platter and the Caesar salad. The waitress was attentive but not overbearing. The ambience was quiet, warm, and comfortable. We can't wait to return!

Reservations were for 8pm on a Sat night. After inquiring twice, we were sat at 9pm. It was a busy weekend because of V-Day, which landed on a Sunday. Service came with an unfriendly face and an attitude. Food when it finally did come was good, not their best night for food or service. The server was extremely unpleasant and has the same unfriendly quality when she tends bar as well. I really love this place, I'll request another server in the future and blame it on a busy evening for the restaurant.

I came in from out of town to stay the night at the Craftsman Inn & dine at Limestone. It was my birthday weekend & my husband & I wanted to spend a romantic eveing together with no children. My meal was quite a disappointment. I ordered Veal Oscar. The Veal was very chewy & the onions overpowered the dish. Asparagus was not steamed enough to be able to eat it. So the only enjoyable part was the loaded mash potatoes.

From the hostess who greeted us to the waitstaff serving, we were welcomed with smiles. The meal was well-paced (not rushed) and top-notch. The music was rather loud at first as the dining room was not crowded. The waitress immediately offered to turn down the jazzy music which made for a more pleasant dining experience. The restaurant was not what we expected. We chose it because the website stated it served "regionally sourced produce." Nothing on the menu was local. If that does not matter to you, the restaurant was fine. The service was attentive and answered all our questions patiently. The wine was excellent. The fish one of us had was excellent. The other items, meat and a chicken/pasta dish, were good, but not spectacular. Prices were fair. The atmosphere was quiet. But we will not return.

My mother and I enjoyed a leisurely lunch in a booth, as requested in our reservation. I asked for a side offered with a different entrée; the waitress graciously allowed my special request. The beef on my salad was delicious, tender, served warm and cooked to my liking. My mother felt the french fries served with her haddock were unremarkable. A great find in Central NY. My finance and I go out for a very special dinner once a year. We look for a new, more upscale restaurant to go to. This was year #7 for us, and the Limestone Grill was a great find. We would place it as #2 of the 7 restaurants we've tried in the past, and will visit more often now that we have found it.

This was the first time I have ever dined out on Thanksgiving. I was looking forward to it immensly, and have to say I was disappointed. Choosing an upscale restaurant like the Limestone Grill, I was expecting a more intricate buffet than they served. There were too few food choices if you didn't count the salad bar. I did not expect a salad bar at a Thanksgiving meal, I thought we would get more fancy side dishes. They offered very few side dishes and the ones they offered were very plain. I am sad to say that the experience I had ruined my chances of convincing my son to dine out on the Holiday again. Looks like I will be cooking next year.
