Awesome experience from start to finish. My wife and I shared the Father's Day ribeye, whuch was unbelievably good. Tomasso's biscotti assortment made a special dessert and our son and his wife shared a molten chocolate lava cake. Although the wine we chose was among the least expensive, it was extremely good. I imagine there isn't a bad choice possible. Janice, our waitress, was very knowledgable and accommodating. The four of us enjoyed our time togethernd will return for another special occasion.

The pasta dish was amazing! Perfectly cooked noodles and unique meats and vegetables. Their main courses were also very unique, featuring such items as wild boar. Also there use of organic and locally grown produce was very impressive. The service was impeccable, with attention to detail, and after dinner the scenic view across the street of the lake added to the romantic evening. All in all, we had a wonderful time.

Our meal was terrific. However, when we told our waiter we weren't interested in any alcohol with our meal, our service went downhill from there. They encourage family style dining which is exactly what we did. When we chose to share pasta entrees instead of the more expensive meat ones, again we were scoffed. Overall the service was good since there was a different person always bringing you something different. However, for an afternoon in the 90s, the water glasses were rarely full.

Positives: Food was simple, cooked well, flavorful. Waiter was friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. Negatives: We put in a comment in OpenTable when making the reservation that it was a "special occasion", but we were seated at a table in the bar area. And we were the only ones seated in this section along with the noisy bar patrons. Not very special. Also, the complexity of the dishes was very low for extravagant prices charged ($24 for a pork-chop???). Perhaps we missed the signature dish, but we had hoped to walk away in awe of at least one item.

It always fun to dine at Tomasso's. My guests had a wonderful evening. The food is superb and the staff is great. I am looking forward to the fall when you will be making the cauliflower dish again. I have tried to clone it many times at home and it is good but you are the master. And we love the Lasagne di Frutti - and we think it is a work of genius. i guess you can tell we love Tomasso's. What's amazing also it the ambiance - it's open yet intimate.

A wonderful and creative meal for two. Portions were ideal sized. The focus was on the food itself, not on an artsy presentation- I felt it was a genuine value. The only knock was on the tiramisu which had a lavish cream sauce over rather heavy biscuits. The service was attentive but not intrusive.

We love, love, love Tomasso. The menu changes each season, but offers so many great choices that it doesn't feel limited, especially because you can up-size the pasta to dinner-size. Fantastic homemade pasta, great antipasti and desserts, excellent wine list and cocktail menu. The staff are all very pleasant and knowledgeable, especially when we want to try new foods or wines. If you can't bear to go home empty-handed, stop at their Panzano market before dinner for bread, cheese, wine, and THE best italian cookies ever made. And it even made Zagat's Best Italian in America list for 2008! A true gem, and right near our neighborhood, how lucky are we?

I was a little annoyed that we were told we couldn't sit in the main dining area with the kitchen. We has an early reservation. RESERVATION. I was hoping that would RESERVE me a spot in the main dining room. When we left there were still open tables (enough for our party) that I noticed hadn't been sat the entire time we were there. Also I thought it odd that there wasn't any music playing. We spent most of the time overhearing our neighbor's conversation. Otherwise, the food was good and the portions just right. It was a nice time. Thank you. Emily

Still inventive and excellent food. However, the portions do appear to have become smaller. For the first time since they've opened, we've left still hungry. Most people in Southborough think Tomasso's is too expensive, and I've always argued that if they avoided the overpriced contorni, and instead shared multiple antipasti and primi they'd get the best meal in MetroWest at a MetroWest compatible price (125-150 for 4 including wine and tip). Now I'm not so sure.

I really enjoy the food and eat at Tomasso's about every 4 months. I would eat there more, but I do find the menu choices to be to limited. Also, I think there should be a better choice of appetizers (appetizers are one thing I always order at a restaurant, but NEVER order at Tomasso's because they don't appeal to me). Also, while I have tried the desserts every time I go to Tomasso's I have never really been wowed - I think you can have fancy desserts but offer more traditional Italian ones, like Tirimisu and Canoli's. I don't think after this last experience that I would order dessert again unless the menu was changed...

Food and service were very good. Nice ambiance. Enjoyed watching the Chefs working on the line. They were very professional and showed little stress through out the meal. We ordered the anitpasta plate and it was so nice to have the different items discribed before we enjoyed. We would have preferred to dine later but the online reservation system did not allow us to book at a convinent time for us. The noise was moderate in the beginning of our meal but increased as it got later, making conversation a little difficult. I will recommend this place to others.

Great food. We enjoyed antipasto and prima piati but skipped the secondi (main meal) Chefs antipasto was specataclar Meatballs excellent The only bad food was the octypus appetizer which was undercooked Wine service was excellent, we asked the bartender to recommend and they did a good job Table are small, so too many wine glasses and plates for the tapas made it a little clumsy The service was good but did not really keep the table clean and free from extra glasses and dishes. When you are having lots of appetizers - careful attention to cleaning off the table between courses is important We loved the fig and gorgonzola pizza Desserts were "fair" I recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys good italian food.

The food was a wonderful treat in an area void of interesting restaurants. From the mushroom risotto appetizer, to the arugula salad with seared trumpet mushrooms and pecorino, to the grilled swordfish with cauliflower, pinenuts and goldens raisins, to the meringue tart with blood oranges and candied mint. Every dish was perfectly balanced.

This was our first visit to Tomasso, it won't be our last. My wife and I had a wonderful meal and experience. Our wait staff was very attentive from the moment we were seated. Our waiter, in particular, was exceptional. He helped my wife pick out a wine to try and hit the mark with what she was looking for. We had ordered an appetizer to share and he noticed that my wife had only eaten a small taste and inquired if it was OK - very few would have picked up on that. My wife had the 14 oz veal chop special and I had the venison stew. Both dishes were excellent and the portions generous. Desert was thier very unique presentation of Tiramisu with a pair of cappucinno's. I would suggest the tables be a bit bigger though, we felt a little cramped

Everyone said that the food was very good and we all liked the olive oil that came with the bread. The wine we had was also very good. It was nice to be able to see into the kitchen. Some of the suppli were done perfectly and some were a bit overcooked. I had had much better ones on my last trip. My pasta was good since the sauce was quite good but some of the papardelle had stuck together and were therefore not quite cooked.

The food is simple and delicious, but quite expensive. All the little dishes add up, so expect to pay. The service is impeccable. We ate early, and it was not busy, and was nice and quiet, and we were not rushed. For a foodie treat, reserve the "chef's table" which is an eating bar outside the kitchen. You can watch the adorable Italian staff making salads, preparing dishes and sauteing meats. Great fun.
