A word from Scarpetta - Fontainebleau Miami Beach
Scott Conant, formerly of L’Impero and Alto, is at the helm of Scarpetta™, Fontainebleau Miami Beach’s Italian restaurant and an outpost of his recently opened restaurant of the same name in New York City. The restaurant features ocean and poolside views, a wraparound veranda as well as casual dining areas and a cocktail lounge.

Scarpetta regional menu comprises clean, crisp flavors prepared in layers to reflect the quality of locally sourced ingredients. Known for coaxing the most sublime flavors out of the simplest ingredients, Conant relies on Florida’s bounty of farm-fresh and organic produce to craft menus of surprising complexity.

We have been to Scarpetta before and loved it, so I brought my parents here as a gift for their 34th anniversary. They also loved it. Unfortunately, after we sat down we didn't see our waiter for quite a while (approx. 8-10 min), but once we got a waiter the service was excellent. He made great recommendations and also explained the dishes very well. As usual, the Polenta with Truffled Mushrooms was amazing. The spaghetti was surprisingly one of the best pasta dishes I've had, recommended by the waiter. And for dessert the chocolate cake was out of this world.

Food was good along with the service. I find the tables to be too close to each other and it feels like the other guests are part of your party. The design of the restaurant makes for a very loud and noisey dining experience.

We had an amazing time at Scarpetta. It was our second time at the restaurant. We love the ambiance, it reminds us of our cruising experience in Europe. The bread is delicious and the wine list extensive, there is a wine for anyone's taste. There was a moment were we wanted to place our order and our waiter was nowhere we could see him, but someone else came and took our order right there. The very best part of our experience that night was that on my reservation through Open Table I had mentioned on the section of Special requests for the Chef that it was our 3rd anniversary celebration. When our disserts came the chef had written in it "Happy Anniversary", that was the highlight since we were both surprised and touched by the gesture!

We were more than pleased with our dining experience here. The food was superb and was the service. We could not ask for better. Water glasses were constantly refilled, bread replaced if needed. The server attentive. I would HIGHLY recommend this restaurant. One of the best in South Florida.

Ever since the Miami Herald wrote a rave review of Scarpetta in 2008 I have had it on my list of "must go" restaurants. Unfortunately, it did not live up to my expectations. The food was good, but not great, especially for the price. The waiters did not always keep track of our needs, leaving one of us without a fork for the pasta course, a slow glass of wine and a request for a table candle forgotten. The outside dining room is large enough that it is hard to catch the eye of your waiter. Let them know if you prefer indoor (A/C) or outdoor dining. They never asked us. Of course the Fountainbleau is an exciting scene - and the bar life was hopping.

Would highly recommend. We went to celebrate my parent's annivesary and it was perfect - the food, the service, the place. Pricey but excellent. Earlier in the week we went to another comparable restaurant on South Beach to celebrate a birthday and the food and service were horrible and we paid about the amount of money. Great for a special occasion.

We had a wonderful experience eating dinner at Scarpetta. Enjoyed every minute of it! The hostess was friendly & outgoing, Our server & other staff were very attentive & made great reccommendations of wines & dinner. The Miami Spice was a great menu. The spaghetti was the best I have ever had. "Dean" was very helpful- after dinner walked us personally to the "Liv" club in the hotel. Our first night in Miami was the best thanks to Scarpetta. We will come back & looking forward to it!

The food was incredible; top notch. We tried the Miami Spice menu and I must say that so far it is the best Miami Spices and my wife and I have been to many over the past three years. We started off with the Pancetta with fricase of truffled mushrooms. This dish is simply amazing and full of flavor. The short rib appetizer was excellent as well, but the Pancetta definitely takes the cake. For entrees we had the Duck Ravioli and the Seared Scallops. My wife loved the Ravioli (with Foi Gras!) more and I loved the scallops. They were perfectly cooked and the sauce wasn't overpowering at all. Dessert was the warm chocolate cake and the pana cotta. Both were out of hand, but being that we're both into chocolate the cake was the best.

I really enjoy the food at Scarpetta. I have written several great reviews before. However, I was highly insulted that we were placed outside in the August heat this time, without requesting it. The "maitre d'" took one look at us and pointed to a table outside. From looking around, they must place the less haughty patrons outside. Alot of people were wearing jeans or had children. My husband had a jacket on and had to take it off within 5 minutes of being outside. Our bottled water was very warm from sitting on the table for over an hour. I don't like drinking warm water in 90 degree weather. I'll take my business somewhere else.

We parked our car at the hotel and had a hard time finding the restaurant. Someone from another restaurant walked us to it. It is in the tower building and a nice walk from where we were, which turned out to be fine after dinner. The restaurant is beautiful, but the music can get quite loud. The Miami spice menu offers full size portions. The polenta with mushrooms and truffle oil is good, and very rich, the beef short ribs were tasty. The duck foie gras ravioli was too rich to finish as a main course, but very very good. The black Cod perfect. The signature spaghetti with red sauce also very good also rich. Desserts were great.the bread basket has a selection of breads, also rich. wines can be pricey. The food is veryh good, JUST RICH

The food was very good and interesting selections. The restaurant is at the end of one of the hallways in the hotel. It has a nautical theme, but the views of the ocean are not that good. The tables are close together and the noise level is high. The live music from one of the other restaurant/bars in the restaurant is piped in. Since the restaurant is in the hotel, all of the people checking or out of the hotel are at the entrance. On the weekend, there are many people going to the nightclub in the same building. For my daughter's birthday, there was a nice presentation of desert on a plate with a birthday greeting and a candle. With so many good restaurants in Miami, I probably will not return to this one for a long time.

The food was good but very expensive! My biggest complain about the place is the temperature. I was so cold I could not savour my food. I asked the waiter twice to adjust the temperature, but I didn't notice a difference. My group of 4 tried the tasting menu offered with a wine pairing...again, amazing - both food and wine selection! We all can't wait to go back...but it will be in the fall when we can sit outside and enjoy the amazing food and have a conversation. (Maybe a weekday, less people, less noise?)

Scarpetta is easily my favorite restaurant in Miami. The thing that made this trip stand out is that we dined on the Miami Spice Menu. Some restaurants treat Miami Spice as a necessary evil and others embrace you as a valued guest regardless of what you spend. We had an amazing meal with wonderful service and full-size portions of truly perfect food.

Overall great experience. The menu was a bit longer than I expected, but not redundant. The wine list also surprised me with wines from Catalonia, Spain and they offer a nice amount (about two glasses) running from $8-$15. The food was fresh, simple, and delicious. Although a bit pricey, this is a great special occasion restaurant.
