Prime rib was weird - heavy smoke flavor with soy sauce. Would much prefer a normal prime rib with au jus.

Palisades has always been the restaurant I take my wife to on special occasions. We had moved to Chicago and consequently have not been in several years until this trip. The ambiance and service were just as we remembered, however we were greatly disappointed in the food. In particular, we always make sure to order the Macadamia Nut Chicken and were disappointed in finding that they have changed the recipe. Sorry Palisade, but we may be finding a new special occasion restaurant.

With regard to the quality of the food on the brunch menu: The presentation of the entres and the luau bar items deserve high marks, however, my prime rib hash could best be described as bitter and greasy, my wife's Seafood Wellington was flavorful but very salty, and the pasta salads we tried were flat and uninspiring. On the positive side, my mother-in-law enjoyed her entree, something called Seafood Joe, the breads and pastries were very good, particularly the mini eclairs with the chocolate dipping sauce, and the seafood on the luau bar was excellent (though I would have preferred the shrimp to have been shelled and deveined).

We enjoyed a wonderful brunch at this restaurant. The atmosphere was superb and the service was extremely professional. Our entrees were delicious and the buffet table was full of many specialty salads, muffines, eclairs as well as a wonderful warm chocolate sauce to dip your strawberries in. We were able to be seated by the creek which runs through the restaurant. We were amazed to see star fish in the water. The spectacluar view of the marina and downtown Seattle helped to make our time more enjoyable. We will definitely return and also bring our friends and family.

  • Food was good, but service
    OpenTable Diner Since 2002
    Dined on 5/4/2008
Food was good, but service slow. Brunch was for a birthday with a large group. There was an unfortunate misunderstanding with server regarding whose birthday it was (mine). Hostess correctly identified me as the birthday person--it was on the wait ticket for the server. A guest was very late and server kept wanting to wait for them, while we tried to emphasize that we wouldn't wait for them to order--we were trying to be timely as we had a show to attend after brunch. Server kept delaying ordering (at least 20 minutes after we were ready). Then after ordering, food took a long time (at least 25 more minutes) to come. Finally at end of meal, we found that server thought the entire time that it was the last guest's birthday. Late for event.

  • The brunch spread isn't quite
    OpenTable Diner Since 2005
    Dined on 5/4/2008
The brunch spread isn't quite as expansive as that of Salty's, but I did enjoy the option to order a main course, and then have access to a small buffet spread. Many of the menu items were seafood related, which has less appeal to me personally for 'breakfast' compared to more traditional offerings.

I brought my fiance here for his birthday. This was his first and my 2nd time coming to your restaurnt. My first time was 12 yrs ago and everything was exactly how I remebered it (12 yrs ago). I always remembered this was a special place to take someone for dinner. Very romantic, great service, awesome food (we did a 4 course meal). We will defintely come again, this time without yrs in between. I have already told my parents and girlfriends about our experience. I know they are impressed by what we told them. We loved the personal touch of rose petals and a birthday card on our table.. Our server Ryan, was great, very friendly!!! Thanks again for the wonderful evening! Jenn

Palisade was a wonderful dining experience. The food was incredible and the wait staff was attentive without hovering. We saw amazing attention to detail and this enhanced our overall experience. They sat us at a window seat with an incredible view of the Seattle skyline and harbor. We had booked for our anniversery and they sprinkled rose petals on the table and included a card congratulating us. A very first class place all around. We would certainly recommend Palisade to anyone visiting Seattle.

I am a master woodworker and commercial artist. So I notice every little thing. The Place has a fantastic ambiance but I did notice that some of the cabinetry down in front of the bar section is starting to look worn. you might want to consider re facing the cabinets in this area. that Mahogany looks kind of dirty and the grain pattern is kind of mundane. Something more clean and striking with a better grain pattern like Black Walnut or Teak. Or perhaps an exotic hardwood like Cocobolo or Madagascar Rosewood,Brazilian Rosewood. Here is a link to a hardwood gallery on line for you to look at...http://www.eisenbran.com/OurGallery.htm you can get in touch with me if you like. I had a great time.

I found Palisade by accident. Some friends had a gift card they were unable to use and passed it along. I went on my birthday and appreciated the understated acknowledgement of the occasion (no waiters singing off-key, thank you very much). My halibut was very good - properly cooked with a subtle smoky flavor. Other dishes were good as well. Service was attentive yet unobtrusive. The decor and view make this restaurant a good choice for entertaining out-of-towners.

    OpenTable Diner Since 2007
    Dined on 4/13/2008
Everytime we go to Palisade - we have to wait- with a reservation, and even when the place is empty. We had to wait at our last reservation- the restaurant was 5% filled, and according to the hostess, they had to get our table ready. 15 minutes. When I looked at my watch, it was 9.46am- our guests joining us had waited 5 minutes so our entire party was waiting in an empty restaurant. I approaced the hostess and told her that I wanted to go to our table. Had I not approached her, she probably would let us stand there indefinitely. The hostess staff is too young and not professional enough if they want to think of themselves as a 'foody' place. This is a chronic issue with Palisade. I neither understand, nor enjoy this policy.
