We went to the Rawhide for their Thanksgiving menu. The menu was great the food a "B-". Our reservations were for 5:45 and our waiter told us we were the last couple to get turkey. We arrived early and were made to stand in a huge line with people, who did not have reservations. When we got to the front, we were checked off the resevation list. (seated at 6:15, food served 7:10) People, told to stand in line ,were then told they were full when they got to the front. Apology none. The hostess staff was not at all consistent, I had to stand in line 50 minutes but other people walked behind the desk, gave their name, were checked off and seated ahead of me. The live entertainment was nice. Waiter was a nice guy but had no real skiills.

Very casual atmosphere - pleasant - music with a country flair, danceable. Thanksgiving night... not such a good idea. We've done this several years. Unfortunately with lessening satisfaction. Front desk/reception - disorganized. Servers did their best (and nicely). The food ranged from ghastly to delicious in one meal. Truly, the bright spots were the pleasant entertainment and the hard-working service staff.

I was with my husband, 1 year old daughter and a friend. We came for a stress free Thanksgiving and spent a couple if hours touring the town. The town was ok but if you didn't want to shop there want much to do. We had reservations for 5:15 and when we got their we were told it would be at least 30 mins past that. They were seating walk ins before reservations and there was no one managing the front of house. We witnessed dozens of people give up and leave. I don't see why the out door area could not have been opened up. We finally went rouge and just grabbed a table in the bar area. We ordered the thanksgiving meal and it was barely warm and flavorless. The turkey tasted like that fake pressed stuff. All in all it was disappointing .

Love it, Love it! A great Thanksgiving event for my family of three. We will be back again next Thanksgiving. We had reservations, which is a must. The food was very food, but a little pricey. Our waitress was not the best, but understandable for a busy holiday. The band music was good for the atmosphere . It was awesome. I am so thankful that The Rawhide Steakhouse was there for us on Thanksgiving Day. Thank you again!

I heard there would be around 1,200 guests on Thanksgiving, dining throughout the day. The setting (Western), the prices and the service were great. The live music was too loud--could barely carry on conversations from across the table. Our waiter was friendly, helpful, patient, etc.--everything a waiter should be, especially on a busy day with families and groups. We had to wait awhile though between receiving our checks and having them picked up and taken care of. But overall we had a great time.

We have eaten here several times in the past; however this is the first experience with poor tasting food. Ribs were chewy and overcooked with bottled barbeque sauce. Chicken had no flavor. The kids steaks were great. French fries wilted. We caught them during bridge between lunch and dinner. I think they cater more to tourists now so food flavor isn't a priority? There are many steak houses within a five mile radius and they need to improve their quality of food.

we were visiting from chicago and wanted a mini-western town type dinner. everyone employee said hi, every employee was nice, server was super nice and attentive. i ordered the rawhide 16 oz ribeye steak and it was great! cooked perfect (medium - pink center). nice branded "R" on the steak! :) steak fries were great (big ole steak fries). there was a very very good magician that stopped by our table to entertain the kids and he did an awesome awesome act! he was patient to let us dorky photographers take a video and as many pictures as needed. cool live band played in the background (on stage) as well. Just a great overall dining experience! Then we visited the town outside (bull riding, outpost shop, blacksmith) - all awesome!

Including myself and 9 other guests we had the most exciting night of all. I would definitely do it again. We all enjoyed the food and entertainment of Country Music, and the magician was all very great. My family of course were the guests involved and are still talking about how much fun they all had. Two of the guests were from Connecticut and raved so much they enjoyed coming to Rawhide can't stop talking about it. Also the shoot out was very enjoyable. The food was exceptionally great, servers were very polite and professional. Every one there were very polite and courtesy to all of us. So with that we would do it again and I would highly recommend Rawhide to many people. Thank you for the fun time.

Although the western town was a hit with us and the kiddos, the steakhouse was a complete miss. As soon as we were 'greeted' at the front we could tell the service was going to be hit and miss too. There were two ladies up front and the youngest of the two was quite nice (trying to make up for the other 'lady's' behavior). Two seperate times, to two different staff we asked for a high chair and didn't get one. We asked "RAY" the nice busser (!) if he could help us and he obliged. Our waitress was THE MOST curt waitress we have ever had! Never a "how are you" or later, "how is your food" UNTIL she brought us our check did she say "Thank you so much and come again soon ya hear?!" Now, for the food. Eh! We'll go to Longhorn.

Guitar playing cowboy had a pleasant voice but music was too loud for dining..........set more at a happy hour bar level. We had printed out the online menu and decided what we wanted but menu in restaurant had changed......online menu had not been updated. Salmon was good, sirloin ok, stuffed pepper was disappointing and bland. I took a bite and could not eat anymore. We drove through In and Out on the way home so I could have dinner......this after paying about $14 for a small bland pepper swimming in tomato sauce. Chocolate lava cake shared at table was very good, though. We had been fans of the smaller, bustling Rawhide Steakhouse in north Scottsdale. The dining room here was less than a third full and now we know why.

the chicken fried chicken was gross, the steak had no seasoning, the beans were right out of a can with no flavor. You now have to pay to get mashed potatoes and beans extra. Will not be back until they change menu back. Even the staff was not happy with the changes. What a shame to ruin a great meal.

My wife and I just moved to Arizona with our 6 year old son. We were looking for a decent place to eat not knowing the area. We found this restaurant by chance on the internet and decided to give it a try. We were not only pleasantly surprised by how good the food was but as a bonus there was an exciting wild west show outside. Coming here from the New York area my son had never witnessed a "cowboy showdown" in the streets of an authentic wild west town. It was an extremely enjoyable evening and we plan to go back.

Our service could have been a little better. I believe there was not enough employees working, so the attention from the server was not exceptional. It was also a little cramped on where we were sitting. The restaurant was not filled to capacity and I would have liked a little bit more room to move around. I also noticed that the prices went up and the portions went down. I believe just a few months ago that the filet dinner was only $20 and you got beans with your meal. Now the price is $24 and I believe that is steep when all you get is a little filet and a piece of corn and bread. It was my mother's 80th birthday celebration and she loved it. I thought what you did for her was exceptional. I will definitely come back.

If you are going to Rawhide just because you're hungry...don't. The food is actually quite unappetizing. Rawhide is mainly for the entertainment and the opportunity for the kids to run wild. I also don't believe I am saying this, but there should be more tourist shops there...there is not much to choose from and at least it might hold more adult interest. I was there before (many, many years ago) and it was more in the middle of nowhere, which was better....that is not the case today, although it's not that it is in a congested area, either, but it is different.

The steaks were undercooked. One was supposed to be medium rare. The other was supposed to be medium. They both came in at just over rare. The cook put a mediocre seer on the outside of the steak, got some grill marks and then sent them out. We're not the type to send food back, so we ate the portions of the steak that were okay. These steaks seemed to have a higher amount of gristle and fat than suits my taste. As for the rest of the meal, the sides of corn, backed potato and Texas toast were all delicious. Dinner service was fine. Our server was friendly, as were all costumed personnel at Rawhide, and made us feel welcomed. I would go back to Rawhide, but I would also recalibrate my order and order a warmer steak to account for the cook.

While in Arizona, we were hungry for a steak and when my hubby saw mesquite grilled, this is the one he chose. The steaks were cooked exactly as ordered and were deliciously tender and tasty. Our server was very attentive. One thing I would do though if I went in again is to upgrade from the Cowboy beans to the baked potato. I love beans but am just not sure what kind of sauce they put in theirs as a can of pork and beans would have tasted better than that. The salad was cold and crisp and served with a little corn muffin - yummy - I could have eaten more of those muffins for sure.

If you are going to Rawhide for the evening, you should eat at the Saloon, they have a decent band (it is loud) as you would expect. The food was good, priced well and is a good overall experience to accompany an evening at Rawhide. We were running out quick from dinner to catch one more show and requested the magician stay until we returned which was about 9:30, he gave our kids a private performance for 15 mintues doing card and coin tricks, they were mystified.

There wasn't a need for reservations as there were plenty of tables open. Apparently we went before the end of the school year so we beat the rush. The food was great and the staff was real sweet. They were trying to get the kids to agree on one song the band could play just for them ( old McDonald and such) and the costumed street players came inside to interact with the guests which was great fun.

My wife and I are both graduates of a high school in Scottsdale, and visited the original Rawhide many times. In fact, our rehearsal dinner was held at the original. For our 16th anniversary, we decided to give the new location a try. The views are a little different, but the smells, tastes, and sounds are the same. Great steaks and ribs, fun, country style, and always an enjoyable experience.

Food was ok, a little overpriced. My husband was pleased with his steak, though. BBQ chicken was overdone and sauce was overpowering. Apple pie was good. Music gets quite loud in the large dining room. The place has lost some of its charm since moving from Scottsdale.
