  • Had Rack of lamb first time.

Had Rack of lamb first time. Prime rib second time. Lamb was the better entree although a little under-seasoned for my taste. Mexican prawns appetizer (garlic, butter chili & lemon) a must have. Mango panna cotta was above average. Had something else that ended with the word "bomb" for dessert too. That was a white chocolate egg with mango sorbet inside, REALLY should get that. It is not as heavy as it might sound. Tables are dimly lit and intimate with private rooms if you want one. Live music on the weekends was a nice touch. Our servers were efficient but one of them had a dry humor that did not work well with some in my party.

Local haunt that has some great Italian & American classics. Prices compare favorably to local mid-priced chains but you get something local and unique instead. Calamari steak probably the most tender calamari we've had in the SF Bay Area. Sunday buffet brunch awesome!

  • This was a nice restaurant

This was a nice restaurant to come to for casual cosy dining. The food was nothing special, but was good comfort food. The best item we had was the seafood chowder. Our waiter was a lot of fun - he loved to moke with the customers. The hostess, though, was very unpleasant and needs to learn how to smile and greet the customers.

The food is very good - surf & turf with a lot of Mediterranean touches. The seafood was cooked perfectly. Our waiter was terrific - excellent service. Ambiance is nice, relatively quiet, somewhat old-fashioned (as befits a restaurant in business since 1951), good choice for a romantic dinner.

a great small local find....off the beaten track, and you'd think it was a sushi place by the "first" name....but, what great Italian food.

  • We went because of a coupon

We went because of a coupon and the Greek food and wine offerings. Despite the odd name and industrial location, the insides are very nice. The Greek Sampler appetizer was very good, and plenty for two people. My rack of lamb was only OK becasue of a "brown sauce" which came with it. It was like a gravy mix with no reduction sauce at all. For wines, they offered quite a few by the glass and have a seperate page of Greek wines. The bad was they didn't have the Mavrodaphne, the good was the bottle of Hatziyannis Santorini we had with dinner, perfect with my lamb and my wife's veal. If I was local, I sould likely visit regularly, but for a 20 mile drive, probably not again.

  • Not worth the trip. Service

Not worth the trip. Service slow, we had a party of 6 and the food was not delivered at once. Portions were sparce, we had sandwices (lunch visit) and they were marginal. My gyro had two very small pieces of meat, it was more like sauce, onion and tomato on a flat bread.

We have been to this place a couple of times. They have different session, depending on which section you get the experience is different. Once we had a waiter is really nice with kids. This time we had two waiter in the same room, doesn't feel like had too much of communication going on with our own waiter. Anyways, we like the food there. They usually have activities on weekends. Food is kind of slow, we had to finish about three basket of bread before we had our entry, apetite is totally ruined.

Wonderful menu selection. Reasonable prices. Attentive Service. Live Music on Friday and Saturday. The bar is friendly and fun. The newly remodeled banquet room is elegant with a stage, projection TV with computer hookups, and a separate bar with granite counter. We've had several large gatherings here, and the comments have always been Excellent!

  • I have eaten at Spin a Yarn

I have eaten at Spin a Yarn many times and had no trouble with the kitchen in the past. However this time my lamb came over done and cold. I sent it back and recieved another plate of wonderfully prepared and tasty rack of lamb. So this time I would give it three stars, but otherwise it would get four.
