Overall the dining experience was very good to excellent. I found no flaws with the food, and some aspects of what we had were extraordinary. The wine suggested by the staff was exceptional; we were looking for a local wine, and I can honestly say the white offered was one of the more flavorful ones we've had in some time. The service was very good, and the staff was very attentive. The interior, while newish and somewhat spare, had many period details and was very appealing.

  • I was slightly disappointed.

I was slightly disappointed. The room was very pretty. The wine list was interesting but pricey. There were very few low cost options. The menu was extremely pretentious. I pride myself on my knowledge of food and there were at least 10 things on the menu that I'd never heard of. I don't have a problem with new things, but the actual quality of the food didn't live up to the menu. It was good, not great. I think the chef would be better served if he concentrated on making the dishes taste good and worried less about wowing us with his knowledge of obscure ingredients.

For the money I spent (and I am used to spending 150 - 200 for a good meal form my wife and I) I was disapointed. The food was for the most part was so so. My main course (duck breast) was lacking a cripsy skin. The sides were lacking in flavor. My wife had three sea scalops for $30.00 and again everything on the plate was lacking in flavor. The presentation was wonderful, but the chef needs to realize that taste is the main factor. The wine list featured Long island wines and was over priced for the quality of the wines produced. I had a glass of cabernet Franc and it as 12.00 and the quality was not there. I have had many Cab Fancs in the past and this was one of the worst. The abiance was wonderful as was the service.

All were absolutely delicious!! the oysters were fresh and the dipping sauces were marvelous - especially the cocktail sauce with the spice in it. the frittata was just perfect. for dessert we had the gelato trio with venezuelan chocolate, tahitian vanilla, and strawberry. the little choco bits in the chocolate was fantastic and the strawberry had fresh strawberries mixed in! can't wait to go back.

Wonderful experience. The waitress was very accomodating-always stood in a requested location for a guest with a hearing problem. Although she was busy, she snapped a photo of us. Presentation of the food was an artwork. All 4 meals were delicious. The small selection of local white wines by the glass(1) was a disappointment. Strolling the art gallery was a lovely way to end our evening

We had a wonderful lunch at the Jamesport Manor Inn. We decided to sit outside since it was a beautiful day. We made the right choice, not to say that the inside of the inn was not beautiful. The choices of the lunch were significant with it being a price fix of $20 (appetizer, entre, dessert). I had a hard time figuring out what I wanted to order. Everyone in our party had nothing negative to say about the food. Everything was extremely fresh. I recommend this restaurant highly. Just make sure you give yourself enough time. I think the staff is limited, but very competent.

The food was fantastic. I had the lamb sirloin (tender, a perfect medium), my wife had the gnocci (perfect balance of pasta and souce), my daughter had the hanger steak (she loved it), and our niece had the waterzooi (a light an extremely tasty seafood soup). We were all interested in tha Waterzooi and our niece was kind enough to share a taste with me. the Waterzooi was fantastic: I will order this again. The appetizers were great including the crawfish mac and cheese and the three soup combo. There was a lot of sharing as we planned what to have on our next visit. The service was friendly and knowledgeable, and the wine advice helped us make an excellent choice. The price was an excellent value for the fine meal we enjoyed.

Excellent food and service, menu was diverse and had lots of local flavor. featured a price fixe menu for $29 that included appetizer, entree, and dessert had many choices for each. portions were generous. good wine list also with lots of choices from local wineries with all price levels available. located in a restored historic building with a small art gallery upstairs. favorite appetizer was Peconic Bay chowder, favorite entree was WaterZoie, a seafood stew and favorite dessert was Creme Brulee. Seemed like a reasonable price for what you get, a high quality eating experience in a unique setting.

Jamesport Manor Inn has a new chef this summer and the menu is quite sophisticated and has many great choices. My husband had the waterzooi---a seafood stew with halibut, lobster and scallops. I had a sweet potato encrusted halibut. Both dishes were quite good and take advantage of all the ingredients locally available on the North Fork. Our waitress was excellent and very knowledgable about the menu. We will definitely return.

Wonderful and memorable experience dining at Jamesport Manor Inn. The occasion was our 20th wedding anniversary and we are both "foodies" spoiled by our proximity to NYC restaurants and unusual menus. The Jamesport Manor Inn offered a fantastic prixe fix lunch menu with fabulous and delicious choices! The staff was very attentive to the point of sending each of us a complimentary glass of sparkling wine with our meals. The atmosphere was elegant, state of the art, yet with a feeling of history. We also really enjoyed the artwork displayed on the second floor. We hope to have the opportunity to return to the Jamesport Manor Inn for brunch or perhaps a wine-tasting dinner.

The restaurant is absolutely beautiful. Very quaint. We were seated overlooking the garden. The setting was very peaceful. I live in Suffolk County (Stony Brook), but it felt like I was in another world. My mom commented that we could even be in England (she's British)! The food was delicious. I thought the service could have been a little better. I had to ask for water a couple of times and also had to request bread. When the bread came, the waiter did not bring butter with it. Had to request that too. The restaurant was pretty empty at the time we arrived, so I certainly thought the service could have been better. Food was delicious. The mussel appetizer was to die for. Vanilla Creme Brulé was amazing too. I would definite return.

The food was excellent. The duck, in particular, was amazing - tender, juicy and delicious. The incorporation of local, seasonal items was wonderful - i.e. fiddlehead ferns. The service was very friendly, but we ended up waiting a long time for our creme brulee which did not seem to be the waitress's fault but rather the runner's or the kitchen's. That said, the creme brulee was amazing. We sat next to a loud table which is the only reason I marked the noise as "moderate." My only real criticism is I think they could have done a better job choosing local wines to feature by the glass - I would have come up with a different list based on what I tasted in the area.
