A word from The Loose Moose Tap & Grill
Welcome to the new Loose Moose, featuring a brand new menu and the largest draught beer selection in downtown Toronto.

Since pouring our first pint in 1989, a lot has changed at The Loose Moose. And yet, so much has remained the same. Our space is different, but our address isn’t. Our business has grown, but we’re still independent. And now, even with the most draught beers downtown, we’re no beer snobs. Never have been. Never will be.

After all, staying true to yourself is how you make new friends - and keep old ones. Anyone who’s stopped by The Loose Moose to unwind after work, watch the game or make a night of it will tell you the same.

Disappointed sums up our experience. Service was slow although the restaurant wasn't busy and while some of the food was good, there were enough mis-steps to ensure that we won't be back. The garlic bread looked like a sponge swimming in butter and tasted worse. Fries were bland and were lower quality than most fast food restaurants.

Service for food and drinks was very quick, which is great if you are in a hurry. Waiter was a bit too eager to give us the bill and move us along. The cheeseburger was average - taste was good but poorly made (bun too large and toppings very sloppy). Fish and chips was great! Restaurant really caters to a young crowd, primarily for drinking.

  • Disappointing Service..

It took great effort to get a waitress to serve our table after being seated even though we had a reservation for dinner. We had to request the hostess find a server for our table & throughout the evening, the only time we got any attention was when we flagged down someone to take our orders. Very disappointing. Food was good, but based on the service, unlikeley to ever go back again. This was prior to a concert at the Rogers Center, they should have been prepared for a full house that night and had staff to cover the dinner hour better.

Didn't realize it was game night (Leafs). The place exceedingly noisy. Blaring DJ competing with music/TVs - neither winning. I sat across from my friend & literally yelled at each other to converse. Even after game started & place emptied out. Waitress got our order wrong x2 - couldn't hear us so tried lip reading? She was pleasant, apologetic, & quick to fix errors; avoidable errors if the noise hadn't been so dreadful. We were at a booth for 2 - leather/vinyl seats were tattered and ripped - very uncomfortable. Taco dip was bland, very salty; the beef, greasy. We both had the Greek salad with chicken. The greens were soggy, tomatoes scarce, chicken okay but 1 serving had 1/2 as much as the other; very salty. We won't go back.

The noise level was way too high....the music was tooo loud, and with all the patrons in the restaurant, we could not hear each other speak without yelling. Everyone elses dinners were good, but the chicken in my Caesar salad was too mushy and there was too much cheese on it. The service was good, but we would not return, due to the noise level.....the tables looked tired and needed to be re-covered/re-finished.

Made a reservation for 4 before an Argo game. Arrived on time at 6pm, was told by the hostess that I did not have a reservation. Told her that I made it through Open Table. She said that Open Table does not always work for them and that I should have called to confirm the rez. I had already received confirmation from Open Table. If this place wants its clients to call after making a rez online, what's the sense of being part of Open Table? I explained to her that other restaurants call the client to confirm. They sat us at a table right away, the food was good and the service was great.

We hit the LM before the Redskins/Bills game. We reserved a table for two. We were seated in the front. In the bar we counted four TV that were not powered on. The waitress said they were broken. Two other TVs were tuned to CP24 at 11:30 am on an NFL Sunday....1.5 hours before the game at the Rogers Centre. We asked if they could be changed to NFL. The waitress said she would have to "ask the manager". After about 25 minutes, they were changed. The quality of the TVs were poor. Service was OK....our server was very busy. Nachos were good. This place has potential. The back of the LM had a projection screen and a better NFL Sunday atmosphere. I wish we had been seated in the back of the restaurant.

This was our first time here. We were waited on quickly, and our food arrived in a reasonable amount of time. Beverages were delivered just before our food arrived, we did not get any cutlery, and we could not get the attention of any staff, so we ate half our dinner with our fingers, and could not get a second beverage. Part of our dinner was chicken wings, so it was messy, and we were given two napkins - one each. When I finally got up and went looking for someone she intercepted me on my way to the kitchen. She went to get the cutlery, and more napkins, but forgot my second beer. I received it at the end of my meal, while sitting with my jacket on waiting for our bill.

I went to The Loose Moose on a weeknight before going to a Raptors game. Considering the Raptors and Blue Jays were both playing in Toronto that night, the atmosphere is what I expected - lively with a lot of pre-game drinks and meals being served. My waitress, while friendly, was not very good she got both my and my date's orders wrong - which normally wouldn't have been a big deal, but we didn't have enough time before the game to send our meals back. Also, if you order the ribs (as I did) make note that the price on the menu is for a half rack only (although it doesn't specify that) because my waitress did not make that clear when she said "a full rack?" then an additional $7 charge appeared on my bill. Would not recommend for a meal.

Tried to explain to the security staff that we had a reservation and was told that it was "Not gonna happen"...when I demanded to see a manager (after asking several times) we were finally seated....the staff there is great but I really did not appreciate the treatment by the security staff AT ALL...

I have dined at The Loose Moose a few times, usually in conjunction with attending an event locally. I have always found it to be a great meeting spot, good hot food, excellent music, great service and reasonable pricing.I was very happy that I made my reservation on "Open Table" ahead of time as the place was hopping as when I walked in with my companion, we were delighted to find our table, by the window, just as we requested and a big reserved sign on it! As it was so busy that night, it was a real treat to be seated immediately, service was right there, our food was served within ten minutes of ordering and we were still able to enjoy our drinks with plenty of time left after the meal, then get to our event with time to spare! Thanks!

Food was mediocre at best and service was luke-warm at best; one round of drinks offered and no follow-up regarding food quality or additional beverages. I may go back for a beer after a game and sit at the bar, but would certainly not eat there again or recommend it as a place to go for friends or visitors from out-of-town. Beyond the novelty name, it's old, tired and was basically empty the night we went... which made me wonder why the service was so lame. There are ten places within a stones throw were we should have gone instead.

Went here with friends for a quick dinner before a baseball game at the Skydome. The location is great for pre-Skydome events, just a 5 minute walk away and 2 minutes from Union Station. The food was fine, we just ordered burgers, sandwiches and salads because we were in a bit of a rush. Our waitress on the other hand was not so pleasant. Yes, we are university students on a budget so we order water with our meals and we joined their email club to save on our entrees, but that doesn't mean we deserve to be ignored and treated as second class patrons. The moment she sensed that we were not out to spend a lot on dinner, she got snappy and barely served us. It took half an hour just to get the bill which made us late for the game.
