  • Uniscali is unique. Flavors
    OpenTable Diner Since 2008

Uniscali is unique. Flavors may not be what you're expecting which is delightful to some, disappointing to others. Offerings for my kids was not adequate (noodles, or pizza). The sound absorbtion panels are distubing and an eyesore to an otherwise spiffy place. THis was our 2nd visit, and was better than first, when we thought we would not return due to disappointing flavors, but word of mouth sent us back. Things have improved, so we will likely return, but might feed the kids at home first.

This was the third time we visited and it has improved each time. The chef is allowed to play with the menu and has developed an interesting cuisine with many pleasent surprises. We especially liked the intimate atmosphere with the kitchen and staff, everyone was relaxed and happy and the noise was a quiet buzz that said "life is great" but allowed conversation with my table mates. Dress was flexible, great to have really good food and service and feel comfortable in blue jeans. I would travel here for meal, it is wonderful it is so convieniet to my home.

For 5280 it was too much food. They should cut back the portions just for the 5280 week. The lobster risotto was overcooked and the lamb shank had too much demi-glace in it. The appetizers and dessert were very good but again, the dessert was too much. However each and every time we've dined at Uniscali it has always been terrific! The chef and staff go the extra mile to accomodate you. The grilled bread with balsamic in the bread basket is a meal in itself. It's a very cool place for redneck Castle Rock. Bon Appetit

Chef Kim is welcoming and it's fun to watch the coolness of producing a house full of beautiful plates. Looking forward to more dining at Uniscali!

It was very crowded. I made my reservation through OpenTable and we arrived on time. They wanted to give us a table for 2 right behind the hostess stand, which was very tight and right by the front door. We declined that table, as they said there was someone else who paid their bill and were ready to leave. We waited another 25 minutes before getting a table. I understand it was New Years Eve, but we were almost going to scrap the whole dinner out for this special occasion as we were not being tended to while we were waiting. No one acknowledged that we were still waiting for a table, and there was no place to stand. We won't be going back.

Excellent service and wonderful food. We will definitely return. We have also enjoyed the sister restaurant, Union. We loved the specials at both restaurants and how knowledgeable the staff is on the food and wine list. Loved the holiday decorations - very classy and elegant. We also liked the way the wine can be served in different sizes of carafes so that we could each enjoy a half glass of wine and enjoy more wines throughout our dining experience.

My girlfriend and I discovered this place by accident a few months ago. We weren't expecting Uniscali to be such a nice place. It adds a new modern Ikia vibe that you wouldn't expect to see in an Italian restaurant. Plus there is no equal comparison to the service. Top notch.

My husband and I brought his mother out for her 69th birthday and were a bit disappointed. During our last dining experience we ordered the special and it was delicious. This time we ordered the fettucini bolognese and it was watery and overall tasteless. I appreciate the lightness of the menu items but the best part of the meal was the bread basket. More importantly my mother-in-law was disappointed with her chicken pasta dish that she described as "swimming in olive oil". I recommend sticking with the specials.

    OpenTable Diner Since 2011

Since the restaurant is quaint in size, the noise level was naturally a little high. However, it does help when you don't want any tables around you eaves dropping on your conversation. We requested a table against the wall in the corner of the restaurant. Great spot overall. The happy hour goes from 4-6:00 pm and 8:00pm on. EVERYDAY! Even on Saturdays. Since our reservation was at 5:45, we were able to take advantage of some of the great items on the list. One of them being a great $2.00 Bellini. Service was outstanding as it is at Union (Uniscali's sister restaurant). Our waiter was one we have been served by over there as well. Always a good experience. We will definately be going back.

Good food and atmosphere. We were there on a busy Friday night and while the staff was very nice, our server missed quite a few things and was slow. Slow seating, slow service, slow follow ups. A pleasant evening, but the service kept a usual 4-star restaurant to a 3 this night.

  • Generally I liked the food
    OpenTable Diner Since 2007
    Dined on 7/25/2009
Generally I liked the food and the decor is attractive. On the negative side: The chairs were hard and too low for the table (or the tables were too high?) I felt like asking for a booster seat. Perhaps cushions would help. The noise level was excruciating. It was difficult to carry on a conversation or even to hear the server. The decor needs more fuzz to deaden the sound. The music was inaudible except for the base which made it sound like there was a frat party next door.Im guessing that the dishwasher chose it. The bread basket was curious. The bread was actually dripping with oil, which while tasting good, was a bit on the messy side. It was not very subtle.
