Great place. The Brie Appetizer was amazing. Our servet was so cool he told us how to make it at home! Don't worry. We will still come back. Dimly lit at night, so good atmosphere. Overall, great time nice place.

Only problem - they seated us, then 10 minutes later called me on my cell and asked if I was going to show up for my reservation. Also, if you're going to surprise your spouse with a dinner reservation, be aware that they'll call you the day before and leave a message. "Uh, honey, did you make a reservation at The Village?"

Nice brunch menu. My husband had the Fish and Chips. The portions were good. He said it tasted good. I had the Tombo Tuna Melt. It was good but not very warm. The cheese was barely melted. It would be better if the sourdough bread slice was toasted first and the cheese was hotter. It was a little expensive, but that is expected on the "Row".

I have been there 20 times, hoping it would get better. It is so convenient to the movie with a friendly menu. But the food is ALWAYS sub par. Went Saturday night with 4 people, everyone had complaints about the food and the service. The shirt ribs were served completely dry and looked unappetizing. The burger ordered rare was served well done, salad had brown lettuce. That is only the beginning! Go to Left Bank across the street it is better!

I had the steak and my friend had the sole. My friend kept raving about the sole and when she was finished, I looked down at her plate and was surprised that not a crumb was left on her plate! We shared a pitcher of the Village Punch which was absolutely delicious. I don't care for red velvet cake, but theirs is absolutely delicious - I best I ever had. . Our waiter was tall, very handsome, very nice and very helpful. All in all we had an absolutely great time.

Wine list that is quite unique and use the sommelier! Wines by the glass are even good quality - which is fairly rare to find. Always wonderful little plates to share - we also like sitting at the bar because the bartenders are very good servers also. I have never had a bad plate at The Village!

I treated my SO to dinner on the occasion of his 71st birthday (didn't tell the restaurant that). He had the mahi-mahi special, which he thought was fine except it needed wasabi, which upon request was brought. I had the mini-Wellingtons; enjoyed them, but didn't think much of the accompanying "pickled vegetables," which were a vinegary couple of desiccated green beans and some carrots. A mini-salad accompaniment would have been better. SO had no dessert, only a cappuccino, and I had a coffee-liqueur (forget name) that was fine. We appreciated the low noise level. And Santana Row is such a festive location. Especially in this season with all the lights.

We had reservations for 7pm on a Thursday night. We got there early and had drinks at the bar. The Mexican coffees were strong, hot, excellent. The Vodka and Cranberry was weak. Dinner was good. The french onion soup was excellent, the beet salad very good. The Halibut was excellent, the duck was OK. The 3 paired dessert was an excellent set of flavors. The noise level was reasonable, however It wasn't very crowded. We decided we would come back and explore the menu. This decision was driven by our Outstanding waitress. She was friendly and attentive. She was obviously paying attention and timed the food perfectly,

The Village is my wife's and my own favorite local stop. We have never been disappointed and in fact the staff is most receptive to any concerns we may have from a wine that has possibly turned to being seating in a more quiet remote location of the store. This is a great little gem of a restaurant. I love that they focus on serving local, organic, sustainably grown and produced food. The menu has many diverse options. The food is refreshing and presented beautifully, but it tends to be on the bland side, and could use a little more flavor!

This place is close by with really good quality and a friendly staff. They have excellent pancakes, eggs benedict, and a egg croissant sandwich thing ... which is awesome. I would recommend also getting a banana nut muffin, those are terrific. Also, they have lovely beverage options for people not drinking alcohol. I regularly go here and it's very consistently very good.

My friend introduced me to Village Bistro because she knows I'm a stickler for supporting local farmers, organic and natural food. She also wanted to introduce me to the Moscow Mule (Ginger beer and vodka). It sounded pretty gross to me, but she made me try one and now it's my FAVORITE drink. Way different then I expected - almost like a ginger mojito! The food is also amazing - unique with the right twists! This is a place you could wear jeans to or be dressed up super fancy - it's fit for families and couples! Go try it now, but make a reservation because it gets busy!

Naaaaice environment, but foods suffered so did we. Baked brie was good (but who could screw this up), but other foods we had lacked flavors and were oddly cold when they were supposed to be warm to hot. As a result, I kept on stuffing myself with their warm sour dough bread although I hate sour dough. Considering their prices, it's not worth going back for foods. However, the atmosphere was nice. I liked the interior and how things were set up. But again I can't eat their table or high ceiling if you know what I mean. So go to them to enjoy talking to the bartender, not to eat dinner with your spouse. In my case, never again.

Good menu, but not a great experience this time. Went there for brunch at 12:45. The server (Jeffrey) was slow to the table - by the time he got there we were ready to order and he noticed we did not have water so ran off to get that 1st rather than cocktail order. Just overall, not smooth or quick execution of the basics. My wife had a really nice eggs benedict. I asked if the fish and chips was excellent and he said yes, and I asked him to make sure the fries were hot and crisp. Overall flavorless & the breading on the fish was soft, fries were OK. Not sure if the food waited too long before it was taken out to us or the cooks made it ahead and kept it warm. Jeffrey spent most of the meal chatting his friend at the table behind us.

Waiter missed the table! One guest is allergic to shellfish. The brunch egg omelet did not mention shellfish on the menu description. Fortunately, the guest saw the shellfish and asked to return it and to please make the same dish without shellfish. The waiter forgot about this and the other 3 people continued eating and the 4th guest never did get the food. We eventually asked the waiter & he was mortified. Took the price off the bill and gave us a "friends & family" discount. The 4th guest did not want any more food as we had been there long enough. I would still recommend the restaurant. I have been there many times and this was our first experience with faulty service.

I enjoy going to the Village Cafe, it's one of the best restaurants at Santana Row. It's rather popular too so I am always making reservations conveniently through Open Table. This morning I had the Eggs Benedict (I'm kind of a connoisseur of those) and there's is really great. My girlfriend had the pumpkin pancakes for the second time in the last few weeks (we actually went there so she could get them). She loved them last time ... however this time they were overkilled with nutmeg making them not very enjoyable. I tried them myself and had to agree while edible they were not good, nor great.

This was my second time to Village to eat, the first being a sunday brunch ( which turned out to be amazing, minus the wait time but that's was to be expected ). First of all, we went in on a thursday evening around 8:45,so it was somewhat later in the evening which led to us being promptly seated. We ordered the baked brie upon the recommendation of our waiter, which was outstanding! Our meals were were ordered and served quickly and the one thing that I noticed and really appreciated was the fact that our waters were ALWAYS filled, I love this because I drink a lot of water normally. We one of the specials which was a seafood risotto, and the glazed lamb shanks, both were delicious! I will most defiantly be coming back here again.
