This restaurant is fantastic and while other restaurants of lesser quality (in my opinion) are often full, the Union Grill can accommodate most parties. Fantastic fish, we ordered four different fish dishes and each one was amazing. The wait staff was attentive but not in your face. Love this place! Great little wine list and ambiance is very hip and charming. Great ocean location too.

We were happily surprised on the quality of the food and the service of the Union Grill. If you get window seats, you have a great view of the York Short Sand. We ordered lobster bisque, wedget salad, and scallops. Everything was very very enjoyable.

We went to The Union Bluff for dinner and had such a wonderful experience in the Grill, we went back the following night to the Pub side, which was very different but equally delightful. The scenic view is gorgeous, the food was top notch, and the service was warm and energetic.

realiably good food and a great alternative to Blue Sky, which ain't what it used to be. the menu at Union Grill is pretty creative, but not crazy wild. well-prepared food with a flexible chef (who accommodates special requests) and friendly servers make this a solid choice in the mid-priced food category.

overall food was very good, although the mussels "small plate" my husband ordered for an appetizer was only lukewarm. "frites" which came with mussels as main course should have been freshly cut...would have made a world of difference. I have the feeling they were frozen.

This is a must place to go any time of the year. The service is exceptional and knowledgeable. The chef's preparation of the steak tartar and the pan seared haddock were exquisite. The bartenders creative drinks added a very nice touch to a wonderful meal-again!

I went there for Valentine's Day, the food and service was excellent. While it was a tad more on the expensive side, the whole experience was quite enjoyable. Would definitely eat there again, after I try the Union Bluff Pub first. Highly recommend going checking this place out. The potato gnocchi was fantastic.

What a pleasant discovery in York Beach! We thoroughly enjoyed our experience here. The service was attentive, warm, and friendly. The menu offered ample selections of Maine seafood as well as beef and poultry. The appetizers were tasty and the entrees we chose were delectable! It will be one of our hot-spots upon returning to Cape Neddick.

very good food (preparation and selection), nice wine/drink/beer selection and Tumi is a wonderful bartender/server. just be sure you go to the Grill and NOT the bar next door, which is decidedly mediocre, crowded and ordinary. a nice alternative to Blue Sky next door.

It was restaurant week and the Union Grill did not disappoint. This is one of the best places for caesar's salad with white anchovies and their preparation is delicious as well as unique. The line cod was scrumptious; the strip steak with bleu cheese sauce was savory and tender. The tapioca with blueberry topping and the fried dough with creme anglaise was a treat in and of itself. All-in-all another plus for a memorable and delicious time.

I had one of the best meals. The mussels were superb, the lamb was tasty and tender, ceasar salad was served with flair. We had to take the dessert home. I took my son out to dinner to celebrate his upcoming marriage and the waiter made it a very special occasion.

our first time at Union Grill (not to be confused with the Pub across the lobby, which is NOT a recommended experience unless you like bland, greasy pub food), and a nice alternative to Blue Sky next door. good menu, friendly waitstaff, terrific bartender (Tumi) and nice view of the water. only suggestion: lighten up on the butter and rich sauces. for example, delicious edamame, but it was SWIMMING in butter: what's wrong with just steaming it?! the salt and the beans themselves are plenty. same for the haddock: nicely prepared and nice crisp veges, but floating in some kind of rich concoction. rely more on the food and less on heavy, thick sauces. other than that, a very positive experience.

Another fabulous meal with friends. The hot rock appetizers were superb. The country fried rabbit was moist and delicious;the Kobe beef exquisite; we missed out on the John Dory but we will return soon for that delight. The wine paired with our meal was scrumptious too. Nick did a 5 star job on all our selections.

The chef has really kicked it up a notch here. not only does the dinner menu have some great options, but they are also offering a Bistro Menu Sunday thru Thursdays that is has a 3 course selection for only $22.00. My husband and I ordered the 'chef's whim' 3 & 5 course meals. Karl Mace and Nick Goff and the entire staff made it a most memorable meal. Appetizers were tuna tartare with caviar, pork pate, and sesame encrusted scallops on a bed of romaine lettuce w/raspberry vinaigrette;entrees were venison with juniper berries and a lobster-scallop fried rice also a seared tuna with stuffed boursin zucchini flowers and a spectacular kobe beef burger w/marscapone cheese & carmelized onions;dessert was a tower of chocolate 'goat cheese' ice cream and the absolute best creme brulee we have ever had. Each plate was a delight visually and gastronimically superb. Please be bold and leave the creativity to the kitchen. You won't be disappointed!

We tried several appetizers; calamari, fried artichokes and mussels, and all were very good. Great texture, deicious sauces. The mussel dish had blue cheese in it that gave it a great flavor. Dinner was lobster ravioli, filet mignon, and scallops. The filet melted in your mouth. The lobster ravioli was very different than expected. Rather than a standard ravioli and sauce it was ravioli's, large shrimp, pieces of lobster meat, and mussels. It was a sucessful and filling combination. The scallop entree was also wonderful, but overshadowed by the filet and ravioli dish. Cappucino's and a banana split topped off the evening. Everything was well done!
