We do not take reservations on-line for our café/lounge area. If your preferred time is not available on-line, please contact us by phone.

DBGB is Chef Daniel Boulud's downtown restaurant specializing in bangers, burgers, and beer. We offer house-made sausages, burgers, and all in addition to seasonal Lyonnais-inspired bistro cooking. For beer lovers, there are 22 drafts to choose from and another 75 by-the-bottle. The interiors pay homage to the Bowery's history as New York's restaurant supply neighborhood. Try our $27 prix-fixe for brunch on weekends. For dinner, we offer a daily $38 prix-fixe. Finally, our private room hosts parties for up to 18 people with a view of all the live action in our kitchen!

I’ve eaten at all his restaurants from New York to Las Vegas so I’m well versed in the type of service that you usually provide. While I understand the difference between Daniel and DBGB nothing makes up for lousy service.. I Just returned from lunch at DBGB and while the food was great the service was dreadful from the appetizer service to the wine service. In fact the whole service experience was rather disorganized to say the least. While DBGB has only been open a short time you really need to get some of your top people down there and crack the whip as it took close to 2 hours for our party to eat.

Great place, highly recommend it!The noise level is high so this is not a destination for a quiet romantic dinner. The cooking's inventive.

Very good. Ambience very nice, although think it might be a bit loud for my tastes if fully booked. Hamburger was very nice, but a bit expensive and not on a par with the "best ever."

  • THE SERVICE SEEMED TO BE A
    OpenTable Diner Since 2009
    Dined on 7/12/2009
THE SERVICE SEEMED TO BE A BIT UNDERTRAINED, SINCE THE MAIN COURSES HAVE BEEN BROUGHT TO THE TABLE WHILE MOST OF THE APPETIZER DISHES WEREN'T REMOVE FROM THE TABLE. THE RUNNER AND THE WAITER WERE OBVIOSLY NOT ON THE SAME PAGE. THE KITCHEN SCENE IS A GREAT FEATURE, BUT THE SERVICE HAS TO GET USE TO 3 PICK UP STATIONS, IT SEEMS....APPETIZERS, MAIN COURSE AND DESSERT... THE QUALITY OF THE FOOD IS FAR BETTER THAN THE PROFESSIONALISM EXPECTED WITH SUCH A "SIGNATURE CHEF"'TEAM... GOOD LUCK AND BRAVO

This was a zoo, and unlike his other restaurants. It's a young crowd from all over the island going to eat burgers. Not a Sat night trip.

gorgeous decor and excellent energy. waiter was very knowledge and almost chatty about the beer menu. also extremely helpful and gracious with samples. although I appreciate the fact that one expects much from a boulud restaurant in terms of food and service, this place has always been marketed as a place to dive into beers and sausage and certainly delivers. the food is impeccably prepared, though perhaps not his most avant garde or innovative. but it's never pretended to be such.

    OpenTable Diner Since 2006VIP

We recently went to DBGB for a friend's birthday lunch. The room has good acoustics for being quite large, the beer menu is extensive and the front bar looked like a nice place to sit and have a beer with friends. However the meal overall was only fair. For an appetizer we had a dozen west coast oysters which were fantastically fresh and the homemade chorizo sausage which was also wonderful. However the entree and highlight, the burger, was disappointing as both the meat and the french fries were over-salted. The bacon (while understandably thick slab) was tough to chew. The service was very pleasant but slow.

  • The overall dinning experience
    OpenTable Diner Since 2009
    Dined on 7/3/2009
The overall dinning experience was quite positive (i.e. service) however I went primarily for the burgers which had received very positive reviews since the restaurant's opening. The burger was sub-par at best and certainly should not be the reason for dinning at this restaurant. The sausages were also reviewed as hot items on the menu so I may return to try the sausages, however after the bad burger, I'm not rushing to go back.

Great food - love it when I find Skate on the menu. Service was a bit slow and sporadic. Dining area can get loud at lunch time, louder with open kitchen layout. Not a place for a romantic dinner but a great place to bring friends, fill up a booth, have great food and lively conversations.

Great experience all around. We loved all the food, but there is such a fantastic selection on the menu, I'd be tempted to say skip the entree enjoy a bit of everything. Sample the excellent beers, have a sausage or two, enjoy the sea food plates, have some pate, maybe a little bone marrow if your feeling adventurous and enjoy a nice dark stout with a chocolate desert. This isn't your run of the mill fancy place to eat, so enjoy everything it has to offer. Great atmosphere and fantastic food. Yes, and really good beer. Ask the wait staff to recommend a paring for you, you can't go wrong with good food a and good beer.

We were excited to try DBGB's food and we were not disappointed. The octopus started was perfection with a great eggplant puree, and we loved The Frenchie. Perfect french fries as well! I was surprised at how crowded it was so early in the evening (5:45). I will probably make sure to reserve a table whenever I go.

We had to over order because there were so many things we wanted to try - and it was worth all the calories!!! The Piggie Burger is not to be missed, and there is not a Jewish grandma alive who can match this matzo ball soup. My husband and daughter had to break the news to me that it was better than mine. Service was impeccable - no attitude, just a genuine desire to please. Amazing beer recommendations as well. The only negative comment was the dessert list - I was in the mood for "a little something" - the ice cream sundaes were much more than I wanted, and the other desserts did not appeal. Something with cookies or a tart or crisp would be a nice addition.

    OpenTable Diner Since 2004

I wouldn't say the menu offered a huge selection, but the food was tasty. I was there on a lunch date and had the chop chop salad with chicken because I wasn't in the mood for burgers or bangers and wasn't completely sold on the $22 prix fixe menu. Although it would have been cheaper than my $20 dollar salad and dessert. Pricey, good for a splurge if there's something on the menu that appeals to your taste buds.
