This is definitely a secret gem! Culinary school aiming to please its customers. Ambiance, and food was excellent. Price of our lunch was very cheap. I cannot wait to try dinner. Only downfall is that you really have to pay attention to their schedule. It is not open every day and it is only open a few hours when they are open.

No Wine or alcohol (we went to Blue Bonnet for a pre-dinner drink) and you cannot bring your own and pay corkage. Service is five star with 3 - 6 waiters serving our party of six. Food is very good to excellent choices are limited but everything we had was perfectly prepared. Four course for $21 that would cost over $50 anywhere else and it is a dining bargain. Our first time but we will be back.

Assignments is a training kitchen for future great chefs. Service was a bit slow, prices very reasonable, food was fantastic. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating. They don't serve alcohol (wine included) but that's OK now that we know. Others from our office have gone for lunch, rave reviews from all. Will definitely go back.

Assignments is a wonderful extension of the local cooking school. That being said, the food is excellent, and the service is professional. The staff is very friendly and is comprised of students learning the craft. Lunch is only $12 and includes three courses. Dinner is also available as a four course meal for $21. Both options are a steal for the quality epicurean food and attentive service that is provided. Also, reservations are a must. I'm not sure if a wine listing is available for dinner, but I did not see any options for lunch. However, there is an incredible selection of teas and infusions. That would be the only addition I would like to see among such great food.

Our first visit and we will be back. A reasonably priced and creative menu, well-prepared and well served. Only complaint was tiny wine glasses used for iced tea that were full to the top with crushed ice so you only got two sips of tea before needing a refill - they need real iced tea glasses! Service was excellent!

This place is a great value! Getting a multi-course meal for such an affordable price was such a treat. We were pleasantly surprised by the menu options and the beautifully presented dishes. If you can look past the lack of wine/beer/liquor, this is a great place to have a nice dinner without breaking the bank. It was also pretty fun to be a part of the learning experience for these students and talking to them about this class.

It's a treat to dine where the staff members are eager to please and willing to talk about their experiences as students of the culinary arts. We were offered a tour of the school and kitchens. Our guide's enthusiasm added to the quality of the overall experience. The Italian menu was tasty. Other options would enhance the menu.

Anyone who goes needs to know that there is no alcohol served at this restaurant. If the lack of alcohol would spoil your meal, then choose another restaurant.Personally, I think that the dining experience is worth the lack of alcohol but I would hate for someone to give the restaurant a poor rating because they were disappointed/angry/etc about the lack of lcohol. My out-of-town guests loved our evening at Assignments - excellent food coupled with a relaxed atmosphere where we were able to stay as long as we wished to enjoy the evenign together.

My first time back in many years. I miss the wine list. Energetic personnel. Talkative but respectful. Very reasonable dinner price. The pork was a bit of a let-down compared with the ravioli and supporting dishes. The music leans a bit too much to harsher jazz at times. I hope to return more often.

Across the board, the best dining experience in Denver. Plus it's an incredible bang for the buck! The culinary students use high end ingredients to prepare creative and incredibly delicious appetizers, entrees and desserts. The current menu includes pork tenderloin with pancetta, potato risotto and baby asparagus----------and it's awesome. I'd also recommend the butterscotch budino---wonderfully creamy and rich. Terrific restaurant, in every aspect.

We were curious about the place because our 12 year old daughter is talking about opening a restaurant some day and since we home-school and are foodies and love to visit interesting places, we thought this would be an adventure. The food was really, really good! The portions were just right, not too big and not too small. The wait staff was very friendly and nice with our kids. At times we felt we were in just a bit too formal a dining ambience for us, but we understand that these people are training to run possibly very formal restaurants, and because of the formalities, our food was always served to us all at the same time, which actually is nice for a change! ASk for a tour of the school, too. It is wonderful.

I had high hopes with this place but wasn't too impressed. When we arrived the service was semi-awkward. You could definitely tell they were students, which I did appreciate coming into this dinner. But overall the service was good just kind of awkward. I felt uncomfortable having the diner to worker ratio being so off. There was probably 10 people dining and 20 servers standing around watching. I had read about this issue in a other review but didnt think it would be so bad. Otherwise the food was tasty. Only issue I had was that the 'head chef" who was overseeing everything actually pulled my girlfriends shrimp appetizer from our table after eating almost half, saying it wasn't done. This was a little scary and never had this happen.

We had a delightful lunch at Assignments. The students couldn't have been more gracious, accommodating, informative and professional. The food was excellent with all the touches you'd expect (but don't always get) at a fine dining restaurant. The gazpacho was refreshing on a summer day and full of flavor, served at the ideal temperature and beautifully presented. The bass was exceptional, prepared with the skin on and crisped to perfection. We also enjoyed the pesto pasta and chocolate and peach cakes. A great deal for $12 for a 3 course lunch. Both the service and the food was exceptional. Both are provided by culinary school students. The tomato gazpacho was creamy, with the tartness of sun-ripened tomatoes. A real treat and pleasant surprise. I saw an article on frugal travel that suggested trying reaturaunts operated by culinary schools. I will say that this is a great way to get a fantastic meal at a great price. The food here was absolutely amazing and the service staff was intent on making the experience memorable. We went on a Thursday evening and I was surprised that there were only four tables seated. You will not be able to find better food for a better price. The menu offers 3-4 selections for each course. My wife and I ordered different selections from each so we could sample each others. Everything we tasted was exquisite, served fresh, hot food was very hot, cold food was chilled to perfection. You MUST try the sorbet for dessert!

A very pleasant surprise. The students are out there trying and do a wondrful job at serving and displaying an enthusiasm for their work. The food is simply wonderful from the house baked bread, the appetizers, the entrees, salads and dessert. Hard to go wrong with any choice. The only negative: they do not serve alcoholic beverages but have a selection of wines that apparently are alcohol free and are simply terrible! Grape juice or ginger ale would be a step up. They would be best advised to eliminate them or allow guests to bring their own.
