They had some of the best prepared food I've had in a long time. Larger portions than many restaurants of its caliber. Excellent service and beverages as well. I highly recommend it.

Not since our honeymoon, eating on the beach 8 years ago, have we had such a lovely dining experience. This is by far the best restaurant we have been to and we eat out a lot. I am glad that it is outside of Rte 128, it's our hidden gem. We can not stop talking about it. From the moment you walk in, you know that this is a first class place. Our waitress, Debbie, is top notch. We will be back, with friends!!! Thank you for a wonderful night!

Basically a very nice dinner as we have come to expect over the years. Smallish issues with the service in terms of slow drink refills and almost missed (delayed) glass of wine with the main course. A well done steak was not quite to specification. We liked the music very much. We will be back!

Nice and varied wine selection in terms of variety and price. Food a bit pricey - not outrageous but unusual for a restaurant outside a major town/city. I had read a review online that said wait staff was less than friendly. That was definitely not true in our case. Everyone was lovely. This was a "special occasion" dinner for us and we really enjoyed ourselves.

This past Saturday evening (May 24th) our Wait-Person Ms. Courtney, made the experience especially enjoyable. She was highly attentive but not fawning. She should be commended. All four of our dinners were properly prepared, promptly served and most certainly delectable. There was some disappointment when the Lobster Thermador ran out, but the "replacment" (the duck) was excellent. We will continue to recommend Sonoma to all our friends. We look forward to our next visit, be it dinner, or a pairing with food and wine. Best wishes, Doug Horka

  • VERY DISAPPOINTING!!! Food
    OpenTable Diner Since 2008
    Dined on 5/20/2008
VERY DISAPPOINTING!!! Food is mediocre, at best...amateur...pedestrian...not worth the prices ($158.00 for 2 including tip) or the travel time. Located in a strip mall next to a convenience store and a bank. Very dark dining room...poor lighting and decor. No "atmosphere" to speak of. Low quality wine selection. Waitstaff was polite, but was unconcerned regarding our disappointment. BTW: I'm a true "foodie"...Le Cordon Bleu trained actually, so I have high expectations. I don't mind paying $40+ for an entree, but it better be good, and it wasn't. Would not recommend it or return unless some serious changes took place, and frankly, wish we would have went elsewhere for our anniversary dinner!!

Sonoma outdid my expectations with regard to food. I have never had such an exquisite palate pleasing array of flavors. It was such a treat for a very special occasion. The ambiance was only limited by a lack of view and lowish ceilings - location. Table settings were beautiful and tasteful, service was impeccable; overall a wonderful experience. Thanks We'll be back.

This was our second visit to Sonoma in the past 6 months or so, and it was again fantastic. Excellent, creative food, attentive and informed staff, and a romantic enjoyable atmosphere. We have three young children and going to Sonoma is a great way to put all of the day-to-day troubles behind and relax. The restaurant also has a nice balanced wine list with a lot of mid-priced selections -- you can definitely find an excellent bottle for less than $60. Sonoma is a gem, and we tell all of our friends about it. Sonoma is as good as anything in Boston, and much closer, with parking and a scenic area around it. Thanks for a great night.

A surprising find in a little town in Central Massachusetts. It's location in a small shopping/office mall is misleading from the outside. The ambiance inside included quiet tables with classical guitarist. The food was great--with appetizers that included seared tuna and ostrich dishes; entrees were also very good (rack of lamb; korean short ribs). Desserts looked wonderful but we were too full to have any. Will definitely go back. It is in a beautiful part of Massachusetts and worth the drive!

Sonoma was certainly one of the better Massachusetts restaurants I have been to outside of Boston. The ambience was fairly quiet, with a classical guitarist adding to the calming atmosphere. Food was overall quite good, with some minor nit-picky corrections (e.g. Duck breast was a tad salty). Wine list was impressive as advertised. Service was very friendly, however, not overly attentive. Perhaps this was an intentional attempt to leave a clearly intimate dinner alone (benefit of the doubt), but certainly there were some sizable waits in between server visits. Would certainly recommend a visit, overall it was a very nice dining experience.

Our server Robert was incredible! He is the reason why we would return in the future. There was an issue with my entree being overcooked and he took care of it for me, the second entree was cooked to perfection as it was specified on the menu (medium rare). The first one I received was beyond well done. The wine list had a 2003 red wine and when the bottle arrived at the table it was a 2005. There were no other red wines that would compliment the meat we were eating so we skipped wine. Robert offered a complementry glass of wine, or dessert we declined. At the end he showed up with some dessert wine which was wonderful and they took the sparkling wine off our bill. We were totally impressed by our server and would specially request Robert.

We were a party of 2 and arrived on time and were seated at our scheduled 6:30pm reservsation. The service for the first 30 minutes was very good but quickly declined as other larger parties came in. The wait time between appetizer, salad and main course was by far longer than it should have been. We would have liked to have stayed for desert but after 2.5 hours we felt that the service was so slow that it was time for us to leave. We also observed that a larger party that arrived 30 minutes after we did, received their main course approximately 30 minutes before we were served ours. We feel the same attention should be given to all parties. We were very disappointed in the service rendered. Bruce Quartulli
