It took a pretty long time before they serve us even if there were few persons and they forgot the beer I ordered. Even when we wanted to pay the bill they took a long time and they "forgot" our change until we asked for it. The food was good but the service not. Excellent beers and nice venue.

Great beers, the ipa was my favorite. I had a mushroom truffle pasta that was a 9 out of 10. My dinner partner (a coworker in from an office offshore) had the ribs and enjoyed them as well. Our waitress was very friendly, quick to bring round of drinks, and made us feel welcomed and appreciated. My one complaint is the location requires you to get involved in tunnel traffic and the subway is a walk. But the location disadvantage is more than made up fr with in quality, price, and overall experience.

This place is probably better for dinner and drinks. I went at lunch and while it is a good spot, the restaurant was really cold, almost like they did not turn on the heat. It really affected my whole meal so I do not feel qualified giving an accurate review.

508 is such a hidden gem. The staff is over the top supportive and helpful. I went with a large group on two occasions, the staff accommodated our size and all of our special requests. The food is amazing. Absolutely amazing. I woke up the next morning wondering if I could get the fried oysters over deviled eggs for breakfast and thought about the dinner all day the rest of the day. I think I'll have to go back this week....

508 serves up a well prepared tasty menu that is well above pub food. They go beyond typical fried pub fare with eclectic options like ceviche, taquitos, fondue, and grilled octopus, without skipping over perfect pub standbys like truffled mac and cheese, onion rings, BBQ spare rib sliders, and terrific fries. Great neighborhood hang out. It's impressive that they can pour six well crafted brews that are all made on premise. They even have vegetarian options. Hope it sticks around for a long time.

  • Don't Make Reservations for Lunch
    OpenTable Diner Since 2011
    Dined on 11/24/2012
I made a reservation for weekend lunch at a few different places, not knowing which neighborhood my group and I would be in for lunch. They took my credit card on open table to hold the reservation. When I called to cancel I was informed that they would need to charge me $25 per person (reservation was for 6). We ended up heading down to avoid the charges. When we walked in there was only one other table with three people. I was pretty annoyed that they wouldn't let us cancel the res after seeing that. The food was slightly above average but nothing spectacular. I did have a good cocktail. I imagine this place is a lot cooler for dinner or for cocktails than for lunch.

We had a loud group of 14 people for dinner on Saturday night at 508 and they couldn't have made it easier! Open table reservation without credit card requirement, we had the long table the entire night, we had a very vibrant group who hadn't seen each other in a long time that made quite a bit of noise and we seemed to fit right into the atmosphere. The staff worked with us, helping out with the appetizer orders, the drink orders, the food was delicious!! - we brought our own cake and they brought it out when we asked and cut it up - easy parking in the area...honestly - i could recommend it more for large groups.

Lively restaurant with excellent and eclectic menu. Onşy negative was the greeter - cancelled our table when we were 20 minutes late and very obviously declined to believe me when I said I had tried to call and advise but the answering service only gave website details, not a chance to talk to a real person. She grudgingly gave us a table for 60 minutes - rather spoilt the occasion. Still, assuming you get past her, you should have a good time. The waiter was fine, the above 1 star service rating relates to the 'welcome'.

Heard from a friend about this off the beaten track place. Completely out of this world outstanding. It was one of those NYC experiences that you just hope it can live up to the next time around. The food, beer, and wine were outstanding, but the night we spent there was one of the best times I have ever had. Not enough space in this review to write about. But, if you seek adventure with good food. Well, go.

We went for a bachelorette dinner and had an excellent experience. The staff was friendly and extremely helpful and did a fantastic job of taking care of our large group of women (not always an easy task). The food was creative and delicious and the highlights of the meal were the small plates we all shared as appetizers and the handmade pasta dishes for entrees. Overall, it was exactly what I had in mind for this special occasion dinner; 508 Restaurant and Bar really delivered!

This is an amazing gastrobrewery in Tribeca with a complex and delicious menu. I wanted four or five different dishes but stuck to two: the crispy Thai cow tongue and the truffle-scented mushroom pasta. The cow tongue was cooked and spiced to perfection and the pasta was absolutely perfect. Each portion of food may be small, but the ones I had were great and I highly recommend this restaurant for anybody looking for somewhere to eat in the city!

we celebrated a 50th birthday party which the restaurant gracefully accommodated 18 people and let us enjoy at length. The prix fixe meal was splendid - the appetizers were divine. We brought some bubbly which we paid a cork fee to celebrate the big day. The decor was hip enough for the advertising crowd, and the ambience - well we were the ambience that night! In sum, we could n't have been happier with our choice - all researched on the internet and reserved via open table.

508 always looks busy and bustling on many evenings, but it's really great when the crowds are gone for a quiet, relaxing, Sunday evening meal. The wind list is extensive. The food is fresh and delicious, creative flavors yet simply done. The server was very knowledgeable, especially about the wine list to find the appropriate fit for our palette. Service was attentive...my wine glass was never empty. I don't know what the restaurant is like when filled with the crowds, but I will definitely come back for my Sunday evening meal. Well done.
